Sept 23, 2007 Wonder

I hear you! I can't wait to make reservations for Palo either. I just don't know when to go, that's my big problem. Should we do brunch on the at sea day? Or go for dinner? I'm pretty sure my kids will LOVE the clubs but to spend 4 hours at dinner - I'm thinking that's excessive and there are so many other things I could be doing, however I keep hearing its so worth it.

I wish I knew what my dining rotation was so that would help me decide as well.

We're going to book the rasul too . . ., I feel heck its our first cruise and we'll use our Disney Visa rewards to pay for it:banana:

The time is coming, I'm so EXCITED!

My wife and I are really excited about the trip so that we can surprise our families with the wedding...If you are over by the "Heads Up Bar" on Castaway Day, stop by and say congrats...

What time will this be?

can't wait to make reservations for Palo either.

Just in case none of you have heard, DCL has announced that their reservation system will be having unscheduled technical problems on Monday, June 25th. During this time you will be unable to make Vista Spa, or Palo reservations. Excursion and children's club reservation systems will be available as normal. The reservation system's reopening will be announced on this cruise meet thread just as soon as I finish getting all the prime times...er...as soon as the system is fixed. :rolleyes1

We're going to do Palo's for brunch. My husband and I have been on the Wonder before but the rest haven't and we don't want them to miss one of the regular dinners. I have one son, the oldest who is a cook, that is going to do an early Palo's the first night and then join us for regular rotation late seating. He's got to see how the food and everything is for dinner. He' 22 and thinking he might want to see about joining the crew. I'm not sure what else we'll be doing except for the Carribean Queen snorkeling in Nassau and the snorkeling on Castaway Cay. Since this is big family vacation there won't be alot of time for alone me and DH. Just July and August to go (I don't count June since we're in it, or September since that's when we go).
 :cool1: :goodvibes :woohoo: :dance3:

If I have my dates correct, today would be Dave's 25th anniversary, and the day that he reveals to his wife that they will be going on a cruise. Hopefully, this will score him enough points to remain out of the doghouse for awhile.

Happy Anniversary Dave.

Happy Anniversary Dave! Now get off the boards and spend the evening w/ your wife.:lmao:

Well, thanks for remembering! Yes, today is our big day. I'm down in Missouri attending classes for a degree I'm working on, and Bethany is driving down even as we speak from Minnesota. I have a wonderful place to eat that is private with a nice fireplace - it will be filled with flowers and big stuffed Mickey and Minnie Tiki dolls. There will be a laptop on our table with a powerpoint of our 25 years, and at the end, the big reveal about our trip.

Yet, as in life, there are some complications. Just over the last month, we've both decided to change our career focus - which could jepordize our September trip. But, I'm still going to shoot for us to go. We'll see what the lady says tonight.

Anyway, I'm a lucky, lucky man - and just being with her tonight will be all I need. We'll keep you updated.

BTW - our silly little show (Fan's Guide to Walt Disney World) on the Travel Channel will be on June 12 at 3:00pm (eastern) if you want to see me and Bethany.

Be kind.

Well, I've got bad news - We're having to back out of our cruise.

My wife was just offered a new job, and we're going to relocate for it. We will be moving early in the fall and will have conflicts during the dates of the cruise. Deep sigh.

It's been a pleasure getting to know all of you - I hope you each have a fantastic time! We'll try to reschedule for another time.

Sorry to hear you can't make the cruise, but it sounds like you'll be very busy with other new, exciting adventures. Keep us posted on how things work out - you are still a member of the "Wonder 9/23/07 family". :thumbsup2

On a different note, I guess we may need to have somebody else take over the management of the DISBoard cruisers' list. If nobody else wants to, I can try to keep it current and help organize the on-board cruise meetup.

Well, first off, Dave I am sorry to hear about the cruise, but I'm sure that great things are on the horizon for you and your family.:grouphug:

We registered the kids for the Oceaneers Club and Flounders Reef the other day, so they are all set. We were also lucky enough to book the private room at Palo for Castaway night, that should be fun.

So we are just patiently counting the days...:hourglass

The kids are already talking about it...They can't wait either. But, thats it from here in "hot as all get out" Florida.

Sorry to hear you won't be with us physically, Dave. But you'll still be with us in spirit. Good luck with the new job and the move.
I can help keep the board updated, and help with the arrangements for the meet. If everyone can post their cabin numbers and who's in their party I'll put the list together and get it posted. I'm not working right now so I seem to have alot of time on my hands.
Oceanlvr, you must be in one of the concierge level rooms. That would be really neat. We're CC members and we can't register until the 25th. That will make the vacation closer than ever. I can't wait.

We're staying in one of the suites...And other mebers of our party are as well...DW and I sailed in March and stayed in one and loved it so we're back for another go around with the kids and many family members. It isn't so much for the concierge service (which was nice, but not over done), more for the space.

The extra balcony space and 2 bathrooms is awesome. We really enjoyed it and made sure that we were in the same room as March for the views.

Would love to hear what others have planned...

Does anyone know which night is Pirate Night. My DW and I want to make Palo's Reservations but not on PN.
My family and I just got back from Star Wars weekend at MGM. If June is any indication of the weather in Sept., it will be hot!!!!!
Just makes the beer and boat drinks taste better!!!

Yes, Pirate Night is on Tuesday (Castaway Cay). The party starts at 9:45, so you should have enough time to get back to the ship, relax, shower and get to dinner.

DW and I are having our "wedding ceremony" that morning on the island (still a surprise to the family) and then we are returning to the ship for photos... the kids, grandparents, aunts and uncles are staying on the island for the rest of the day. We may sneak back and go to Serenity Bay for some adult time.:cool1:

Still not sure how everyone is going to react when they find out we kidnapped them for a wedding cruise that they had no idea about. Can't wait to see the facial expressions when they get invitations in their rooms the night before.:rotfl2:

I was just reading the new 4 day navigator that was posted by another DISer..and comparing it to older ones already there. I think they have changed around some of the adult entertainment. It appreas that 70's night is Monday, Karaoke is Tuesday and 60's night is Wednesday.

Now with that being said. The posting I saw didn't have a "time table" attached to it for Sunday, so it would stand to reason that Sunday would be 80's night. I can't see them getting rid of an entire decade, could they?

Anyway, just looking through to find something to make the days go faster.

Well, I can honestly say that I'm disappointed, Dave. I was looking really forward to meeting you. Meetings celebrities is pretty cool. :)

On another note, my VCR messed up when your special came on, and it recorded Samantha Brown in Latin America instead. I do want to see it, so keep us informed if you know it's coming on again.

I think it's been 80's night for awhile. I know that on our 3 day, Pirate night had karaoke so I'm guessing that is the same for the 4 day. P.S. Karaoke's hilarious onboard. When we were there, one table got really happy performing, and by the end of the night they were just going around and around that table. I was laughing so hard because they were truly horrid to hear sing.

I started a "pre-cruise" report on the "trip reports" pages...I sure hope that I can keep people interested for the next 98 days or so. Take a look and please tell me what you think...(be honest).

SHHHHHHHH!!!!It's A Surprise Wedding!!!!

Where is that new navigator located? I'd like to take a look at an updated one but can't seem to find it. Less than 100 days to go.
:cool1: :rotfl:

Hello! It looks as if we'll be sailing with you all in less than 90 days for our fifth DCL cruise with our DD (age 7.5) and DS (age 3.5). For as long as we've been Disney fans (okay, fanatics), I've never perused the forums, let alone posted. That has always been my DH's job. But I was intrigued by the idea of getting to know some people ahead of time who would be traveling with us, especially those who have children the same ages as ours. My DD would love the idea of knowing she had a pre-made "friend" to look forward to meeting.

We are extending the 4-day into a 7-day by staying on for the 9/27 cruise. Anyone else doing this, by chance?

We look forward to "meeting" those traveling with us. Although I have to admit, for security purposes, do you think it's the safest idea to post cabin numbers on the forum, especially those traveling with kids?

God bless,
KC in OKC
