Can someone please explain how rooms that where not available a couple of days ago is now available...cause I swear 7a was booked now they're back

The 7A is already a long time GTY. We booked in february and then it was already a GTY.
It is a very good price for a verrandah and I think that they think better all cabins full then empty.
Hope we get our cabin assigment soon. And we will see what it will be. Maybe an upgrade?

I still kinda don't get the guarantee but when we booked this cruise, we booked a specific cabin (inside) because we wanted to try it out and Disney has more room on their inside cabins than other cruise lines - so we are NOT looking for any upgrade unless it is the Disney suite

Oh wait - I think I do get the guarantee (correct me if I am wrong please) but if I book the dummy cruise onboard with no specific room just a specific category that is a guarantee, right? Okay, I get that but don't know if I could stand the suspense.

But I am currently plotting all my routes to/fr our cabin because I have the room number this way I have an idea of the ship before we get on since I haven't been on the Dream and we only have 4 nights! Usually takes me that 4th night on a regular cruise before I have my bearings.

have you gotten on the list yet? If not it has closed, some people said if we have late comers they will add them to their list! You may pick a group to hand out to but i would let the group know that way if they would like to drop you something they can!

A GTY room is designed so Disney can oversell a certain category. Example: Cat 7A on the Dream has 26 rooms total. it is the Navigators verandah with the obscured view. It has been on an awesome sale since March or so. I assume they have sold hundreds of this category, But with 26 rooms available, the majority of people will be upgraded. You are Guaranteed AT LEAST the 7A room you paid for (cause they still need to fill those rooms) but there is a chance you could be upgraded.

You will never get less then you paid for.

I think my banana has had a caffeine overload.. LOL
I know that was totally off topic but i found that banana and it showed my excitement level.. LOL

I know right....on my second cruise I did the FE for the first time and had some neat things to share...but didn't save any for me this time - I got me some...

I know right - practice makes perfect...I have sorted my stash and resorted and just figured I am just gonna go with what I have and finally put it all together.

I need an extra luggage just for our FE! So I asked Contemporary if I could mail a box to them and they said sure - nice

WELCOME TO DIS!!!!

Welcome to our Roll Call too....How neat for the kids - when are you gonna tell them. Someone here used the Mickey phone call as a clue for their children....

First - the FE list is closed but there are some people (I will) who will do an FE exchange with you (TOMCZYK). So just check in here evey now and then.
So to do the FE with you - will need cabin number, last name and if you are celebrating anything. I usually do one FE per cabin (there are two lists of 20!) but will do an FE for your children so they can have a great first cruise

Second - did you check out FB? There is a group over there that you can also ask if they would consider doing FE with you.

What room - some of us know because we specified the cabin when we put our deposit down. Others just put a deposit down for a certain category of room (called a GTY = guarantee) and are waiting for their cabin numbers. Those should come out shortly.

Be sure you check this web site often for tips. Another good place to check is the Trip Report. These are people's experiences who have already gone on a cruise - make sure you look for the ones that are on the Dream and 3 or 4 nights - those will be most like ours.

Ah - should have checked with Stephiann - did you sign up earlier? I am guessing not since you only have three posts. But do as I said above and check out the FB page and Stephianne made a list -if so, you should be on the list and if not, you can send a shout out to see if anyone will add you to their list...

Got our room assignments today!! We booked a 7a and were assigned a 5B I love Disney!! Even though we are not doing FEs a few people have asked for our cabin number. DH and I are in 8538. we will have our FE out cause we are doing an exchange with the other members of our party.
