Sept 2012 car rental......

Sorry....I just saw them while looking around, I didn't actually try them the offer dates won't work for me :confused3

I just tried them, your right I don't think anyone wants to rent a BMW 528 for $659.99 + taxes and fees...lol

apparently they put the discount price on at the rental counter... sorry i want to know my price before i book anything.

Edited....I went on Costco's site and the price you mentioned didn't seem to include tax, after tax it was $225....let me know if I misunderstood. If not, I got a better deal using the AA code and an Alamo Insiders code. My before tax price is $116.20 for 9/20-10/1. My after tax total is $189.39

That is the total including tax. However, I booked it several weeks ago hoping the price would go down. I know that is a good deal, but I am always looking for a better deal.

OK, I am just not finding the great deals everyone here is getting. Can anyone help me? We are renting out of tampa airport. Dates are 9/22 through 10/2. Picking up at noon and returning at noon. We really would like a convertable but I am ready to just get a mid size SUV. The best I can find is National for a convertable for $449.00 including the taxes. The SUV is $359.00:sad2:

You can get a convertible through Costco for $341 inc taxes with enterprise.

Clicked on this thread instead of my August thread by accident.
Just wanted to let you all know I used the AA Valley offer in May with no issues and I have see many many people on the boards use it with no issues. Print the AA member card just in case but I've never seen anyone have an issue with that code:)

Did you use the kiosk to check in?

Thanks!

Booked at Alamo's website for mid-size for Sept 11th-18th using Costco contract ID #7014627 and the American Airlines coupon code #AD2359FDF

Total price $109.93

Thank you! I re-booked on Alamo for the third time with the costo ID (I am a Costco member--so all good there). I am down to $137 for a full size 9/1-9/9.

I had previously booked with the AA coupon and my Insiders ID at $144...so this is a small savings!

Just used the Costco and AA coupon code to get a mini van for 10 days for $317.27 after taxes/fees. Slightly better than our Dollar reservation for $323.53.

Just booked directly on Alamo a Minivan Sept 7-15 using costco 7015309 and AA coupon AD2359FDF $274.75 :) getting better..

I keep seeing all of these great rates and I am just not getting anything as good as others, so that has me wondering how many of these rentals are from a location in Florida like MCO or Sanford. I am needing to rent a minivan from McGhee Tyson in Knoxville, TN for Sept 7-15 and the lowest I have been able to find is $371 from Budget. I would appreciate suggestions on how to lower my overall price. BTW, I am sadly not a Costco member. :(

Thanks for the help!

Yes--the people who just post with their car type and rate are renting from MCO. Other people typically will write where they are renting from if it's not MCO. MCO has a huge rental car supply and I have typically gotten really cheap rentals there compared to other airports and cities.

wish I could help but I have traveled every year for the past 6 years to MCO in Sept. and have it dialed as to when the prices start to creep down. I'm not sure if the same applies to other rental locations like it does at MCO.. Last 3 weeks of Sept are low season at WDW so prices go down usually the closer you get

I am not a cosco member, and looking to see what kind of rates i can get for my trip next month. i will be arriving around 7 pm on September 28th and dropping off around 6pm on October 6th. I would rather rent in terminal, and not have to take a shuttle anywhere.

Any ideas ?!

Also- has anyone ever tried the Priceline "name your own price" for an orlando rental ?

Thanks keliblue!! Just went on the Dollar site and clicked on city specials and will save $30 from our Alamo rate!

Hopefully Dollar is a decent rental company?? We've never used them before...

We are looking for a mid size car. But can possibly squeeze into a compact. Its only three of us. But we will have a lot of luggage and a stroller

I'll check dollar. Thanks !
Has anyone rented they dollar ?!

Anyone with the Priceline name your own price rental ?

Alamo rate has dropped for me.

Just booked a minivan from 9/6 - 9/15:

Alamo
$273.25 (priced on 8/13/12)
Costco code of 7015309
AA coupon AD2359FDF
Alamo Insiders Member

I have an existing reservation through Enterprise for a few dollars more and am trying to decide which one to keep. Any reason to pick one over the other? Alamo does specifically state I get an additional driver free but I thought I read you get one free through Enterprise if you use Costco's corporate code (although I can not find that in writing).

Sorry to tell you but prices have been creeping up the last few days:sad2:

You can try using American Airlines frequent flyer discount ID# 7014136 and AA's $35 off Coupon Code AD2359FDF at Alamo's website. You just need to sign up for the AAdvantage Program its free. You don't need to fly with AA to get the discount just be a member. You can print at membership card from the website.

Using those AA codes/coupons, Alamo's price for midsize Sept 28th-Oct 6th was $157.19 total price as of a few minutes ago. You can also check mousesavers.com for other codes you can use.
