Sept 2009

Good Morning Everyone,
We are going 9/24-10/4 and staying at WL. This will be DD 5 3rd trip and DS 2's first trip. We are going with another couple who have 2 girls age 5 and 4. This is their first trip. We talked them into going and the FW was the closer.

Hope everyone has a MAGICAL and DELIGHTFUL vacation.

You will have so much fun!:cool1: Last Sept. we made the trip with one of DD's high school friends. Her 3 children are all close in age to our 2 granddaughters and the oldest two were in pre-school and kindergarten together. They were so excited  and had a ball together at the MNSSHP :yay:. We didn't spend all our time together so they never "tired" of being around one another :rotfl2:. Was a little challenging changing our flight for 10 of us out of Houston prior to the airport being closed due to Hurricane Ike but was worth the effort. A really memorable trip for the 5 kids. WL is a beautiful resort ... we'll be there 10 days before your arrival. Really looking forward to enjoying the very unique resort again. Have fun!:tink:

........so you'll be there during the same week. Right? (Since it's 2 AM my math is really fuzzy!!!) I agree, YAY for our trips and really wish my dearest friend was coming with me too. We lived "right down the street" from one another for 15 years and she recently had to move almost 2 hours away when she changed jobs .. Just another thing that added to my "bad" year. I'll be enjoying my granddaughters and a little "me" time. Can't wait for that massage and day of shopping:woohoo:! Where are you staying? I'm excited about getting back to WL again...it's my second favorite place next to the Poly. Hope you guys have a great time.:yay::tink:

Yup! I'm arriving a couple of days after you! YAY! I'm lucky that my friend is willing to travel with me (and she says that without me, she'd never take any vacation time).

This is my third time in a row at POR and someday, I'll branch out. But two girls need two sinks, so no Coronado Springs for us! (Hee) Last time I dragged her through all the major attractions, so time she wants to focus more on the shows and sidelights. It should be fun!

I am SO EXCITED!!! I am like a kid. My DD10 is not even as excited as I am. I too need to get away from "things" for a little while. We have ADRs at Ohana (twice LOL), 50's Primetime and Tony's on the Square. First time at TOny's. We were just wanting to branch out from Crystal Palace although we love CP too. I just had to jump up and down a bit before I go to bed.

Sounds like fun! Your third time at POR? So you like it there?:lmao: My nephew finally decided to get married at Disney World on New Years Eve. Of course, he decided this AFTER we'd booked our September vacation. There's no way we can afford TWO vacations this year ...so, he's "out of the will"!:rotfl2: No-I DO still love him but sure did want to be at his wedding. My family is over the disappointment now and wish them well. Point I'm getting at...he booked the wedding party at POR. Since I'm a more familiar with Disney World than they are, my sister asked me about PO. We've never stayed there so couldn't tell her much. Any hints or advice for them? The groom's brother and his wife will be 7 months pregnant ... any advice for them? Any information you could give us would be appreciated.:tink:

This is our 4th in a row at POR. We just love the setting and feel of the place! Have fun!

Tomorrow I will be at my 45 day mark!!:yay:I can't believe it. I made the reservations back in March and I thought September is so far away but now it's just 45 days away!! My husband said what are you gonna do with your time after our vacation is over? Um I am thinking start on next years vacation:thumbsup2 So anyways we are staying at SSR yes we got the free upgrade but please don't fuss at me for it:worship: I hope everyone has a great trip and hopefully the weather will be good for all.
45 DAYS---WOO HOO!!!!

You're arriving the same time I am!! See you there!!! :cool1::cool1:

Oh, maybe I like it a little. ;) My friend and I have stayed there twice. We occasionally consider something else, but we keep going back to POR. It's comfortable for us.

As for advice, I don't know! I've stayed in a nearby mansion and a far away Alligator bayou places. At seven months pregnant, they might want to put in a request for a close room (there's a thread for all things POR that you could look at for more info), so it's easier for her to get around. And if she ends up in the Alligator Bayou, she might well want to get a ground floor room, since there are no elevators there (there are in the mansions).

There are lots of pools around, which is nice. It's a pretty short walk to FQ, which has some different food court options. There's the lovely boat to DTD, which is fun and relaxing.

This is our 4th in a row at POR. We just love the setting and feel of the place! Have fun!

Thanks! :woohoo: Our final payment was made yesterday so now we're free and clear AND GOING!!

My friend loves Disney, too, so it wasn't much effort to convince her to go. now I'm pretty darned excited!!!

I am at 44 days! :woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay:

We booked last December so it has been a long countdown. I am sure now it will go by quickly. :)

Sarbah77 ...THANKS...info on elevators will be a lifesaver for 7 month pregnant nephew and his wife :rotfl2:. I'm sure climbing stairs would be one of the LAST things they'll want to do. I'll keep checking for more info on PO and refer them to your suggest site. Have a relaxing vacation!:tink:

ok, just found this thread. glad i'm not the only one obsessing. My name is Stacey and we'll be @ pop for 10 nights 9-11 thru 9-21. It'll be me,dh and our 2 dd's. Last year we stayed @ movies and got bounceback for this trip! Can't wait! Never been to pop before!

Just joined. We usually cruise. So I am active on the cruise boards.
Glad to have found this. We will be at Port Orleans Riverside Sept 14th. Really looking forward to it. It has been a few years since we have been to Disney. Our daughter and her friend were there in Feb. and enjoyed them selves {21yrs old spring break} So we thought we would try a family vacation.
Can't wait to relive my childhood.:goodvibes

40 DAYS!!!! :yay:

I am so excited. I can't believe it's almost here. I booked in January so it just seemed like forever just to get to this point. Made advanced reservations for my huge family at Cystal Palace for breakfast before the park opens and Anniversary reservations at California Grill during fireworks for just me and my hubbie!! Excited about those. For the last day, I made reservations at Hollywood & Vine for just my family for breakfast and lunch at the Sci-Fi Diner since we're staying a day longer than the rest of my hubbie's family. Debating on even trying to call about the Kat Kora's restaurant but thinking it may be booked for when we could go there. Anyway, I can't believe it's only a month and a half away.

I called a couple days after reservations opened and was able to get - yikes! - a 9:25pm for the new Kouzzina. Allears posted a menu over the weekend and I'm really looking forward to it. I kind of wish I was close enough for breakfast because MAN that menu looks good, too!!

I'm 30 days away!!

I think I'm at about 35 days! I"m so excited. It's much needed for me and my daughter! She transferred to UTK this fall and has had a rough time getting all her "ducks in a row" so to speak. She's been so stressed since she got there a few weeks ago. I'm SO ready to pack... maybe I can just start getting the little things together:goodvibes
