Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

M2E, even though you do not seem to realize that WE should be the main focus of your life we still love ya!:rotfl: I love the idea of pet adoption and how they carefully fit each dog with each family. That is one lucky pooch to be able to come into your home and I know it will be wonderful for Miss Evie. WTG on the upcoming Disney trip. I think we need to go now cause who knows what tomorrow will bring?

Nancy, is your business suffering in this recession? Just having a job seems to be a good deal nowadays. My grandson, who never listens to me, has found that summer jobs are not available this year. I told him so. :rotfl: Anyway he has several skills and has cobbled together quite a small business for himself tilling gardens, mowing lawns and such. He has just gotten a job roofing a (one story) house. He will make big bucks on that job as well as saving the homeowner big bucks. Sounds like a winning situation. I would like a rich grandson. How are your doggies doing? How is Mike doing?

Ang, you are very sweet but you know that there are a whole bunch of nice old broads around who will make friends will Will and it will not be creepy at all. He is all heart, that kid. I am good at sharing. I am with you, bring back shunning. Makes folks think twice about what they are doing or trying to do. Some people just do not know what they are doing until it affects them though. Those are the ones who are salvageable. The others can hang out together and fight amongst themselves. :rotfl2:

Could not sleep last night and caught "The Trouble with Tribbles' on an old episode of Star Trek. Hokey, but funny.

My yard is simply lovely. Much hard work has gone into making it so. I start working on cleaning the house today and other than Tom's bathroom (anyone have an extra stick of dynamite?) it should not be that hard. My bil had polio so he is not able to go upstairs so I have to clean that the best I can. They arrive Friday so you might not see much of me next week. I am going to a horse race track and casino. I am bummed because the promised WGP's has not been installed though. Butternut Squash Soup!!!!! :woohoo:

Have a great Memorial Day everyone! party:

SG, you should post pics of your garden. I would love to see what I may be able to do one day.

I need that stick of dynamite for Jacob's bathroom.

Melissa,
I will get ahold of you when we get in. Sunday we will probably head to a park and Saturday we were just going to relax by the pool because we check in for our package with tickets on Sunday. You are welcome to join us, we could add you to the room for free since it is room only so you are registered, and/or we could meet you at DTD if you like. We can figure it out on later in the week. I am so ready to just be there already.

Oh how I would love it if William and Al had their own bathrooms, why can't males clean up their messes, but then again that would be more toilets and showers to clean.

SG,
I bet your garden is beautiful. I love mine too but I can't for the life of me get DH and DS to understand that when they are mowing they need to have the grass blow away from my garden. Oh the weeds and grass to pull is awful even with roundup. I would love to see your garden.

I will call you too.

Angela

Soungs good Ang. I know ya'll will be tired from your travels. We will probably hit SWW on Saturday. Need to get the t-shirts, but no big plans. We will see how ya'll feel.

You are right about having to clean more bathrooms. It is bad enough I have ours and Jacobs, but he will then go use the other bathroom causing me to have to clean it more than I should.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. We have taken it easy here.

JM and Ang, you pointed out the only downside to having multiple bathrooms but I have conquered that one by not cleaning Tom's bathroom any more. It was hard in the beginning but why bother? The major upside is being able to sit down and know that the seat will be dry.:thumbsup2 I no longer provide the excellent service I used to. I call it being semi retired but actually since it takes me twice as long to do half as much as I used to I am still putting in the hours.

I will try to take some pictures today if it stops raining. The roses by the garage are in bloom and looking lovely. Some of the peonies have lost their bloom but I have a picture from last year. I plan to make a dvd when it is time to sell this house so I have copious pictures of everything.

JM, you only need ONE stick of dynamite for your son's room? You raised him well.

M&N, are you having a good Memorial Day? I hope so. Does Sophia have a flag to wave?:lovestruc

Ang, I bag my grass clippings and use them as mulch on my gardens, less watering and weeding and it enriches the soil. We have a lumber yard in town so there is easy access to wood mulch for the flower gardens. I get one load each year, deep layer it and do a different bed each year. Spectrocide works much better than Roundup. I also used the old carpet from the hallway and laid it down in a couple of beds a couple of years ago and covered it with mulch and that has made a big difference. I try to work smart since I can no longer work hard. The sad part is that even though I have a nice screened in back porch I do not have the opportunity to sit and look at my work, except when doing dishes and looking out the back window. :sad1:

I just love your plans. You do what many forget to do, actually vacation and take it easy once in awhile.

I got a lot done yesterday and have much to do today also. I see many things that need doing that are not going to be done before my ds arrives. Finishing painting all four doorways for one. In my youth I would have stayed up all night and done them. Quote the Raven, "Nevermore".

Happy Memorial Day!

SG, I never thought about putting old carpet out in the flower bed. We have a piece left over but DH uses it to know when to stop when he pulls in the garage. I love roses. I had one rose bush when we lived in SC and it drove my neighbor nuts because I never did anything to it and it bloomed like crazy.

I mentioned one stick of dynamite for Jacob's bathroom, but it might also take care of his playroom and bedroom since they surround his bathroom.

Hope everyone has a nice day off or if you have to work you have a nice day there. Poor DH has to pull a 12 hour shift starting at 5:30pm. No sleep for me tonight.

JM, when I tore out the old carpet from the stairs I had to do something with it and since taking it to the dump would have been an arduous task that is what I came up with and it has worked fabulously. The water gets through and while it will rot in time it works now and probably will for years.

As far as knowing where to stop in the garage an easier way is to take an old tennis ball or something and attach it to a string and position it to a garage ceiling joist so that it hits the windshield of the car in the middle. Of course an old piece of carpeting will also soak up any stains. ;)

Sometimes my roses bloom beautifully and sometimes they do not. Makes the times when they do more special. I have purple Clementius on either side of my front porch and bright pink roses up the front trellises. I do not have time to sit on my gliders out front either. :sad1:

Jacob has a playroom and a bedroom? Lucky boy. Bet he has too many toys for both rooms too. :cloud9:

Exactly right. One of the jobs for this summer is to get rid of some of the stuff. We didn't have that in mind when looking for homes, but it just worked out that way.

Funny little story, when we went to NC we stopped at the DFIL house in SC and stayed with them one night. Jacob was so excited because the room they put him in had a TV (LCD), their computer, and a massage chair. He gave us the grand tour and kept saying, "I've never stayed in a room with all this stuff. This is great!"

Happy Memorial Day!!!

Hope everyone is having a nice day!

Yesterday was Sophia's Christening.:cloud9: Since it was hot and humid, she went barefoot in the long white, very pretty Christening gown made especially for the occasion by her Great Auntie.

It was quite the ceremony. Usually, if no time to nurse, Mia takes along a bottle and I feed Sophia in the car seat - for someone reason the bottle was left behind in the last minute rush to get out the door to be at the church on time. No problem - Mia keeps a bottle with powdered formula in the diaper bag.

Sophia was happy and playful in the car, so forgot about the bottle. We arrive, take photos etc, go inside, meet the priest and so on...just about time to begin, Sophia is fussy and we realize we'd forgotten about giving her the bottle in the car. Mia goes to make up the nice organic formula and oops, forgot the bottle of spring water (Sophia only gets spring water)...okay, so it will have to be tap water...oh dear... bottle, nipple, but no holder for the nipple!!! Sophia is now pretty fussy, so Mia runs to the baby room to nurse, but the priest comes out and is ready to rock so back she comes....well, to make this long story longer...;)...Sophia screams through the entire baptism. Poor baby is not only very stranger shy, she was starving.

It was sad as we knew the poor thing was very hungry and freaked by the ceremony - sign of the cross with special baptismal balm on her chest, head, ears and lips, then water poured over her head...and all done by a very large, strange man. Poor baby! Ceremony takes about 20 mins..she cried, building to sobs, for 20 mins.

We all made it through the ceremony with Sophia more upset than we've ever seen her. Mia goes out, nurses her and then we thank the priest etc and take our leave...after we arrive home Mia realizes we never got a photos with Fr. James. Oh,well.

We had a lovely dinner /dessert/visit with friends who attended the baptism.... and, best of all, Sophia is no longer a heathen.:thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Dsil's sister and niece are here for the event (Godmother and loudest family on earth) - DD, DGB, Dsil and family will all go for a walk at the Bog Garden and ice cream. As much as I love the Bog Garden, I am staying behind with the pups to enjoy the quiet.

SG ~ nothing nicer than a dry toilet seat, imho. ;) I saved the email photos of your lovely garden and they are now part of my screenaver. Gorgeous! Do share some more, please. :)

I'm sorry, I forgot what else everyone posted...sooo...hope this is a wonderful day for all.

M&N, such memories. :rotfl: It is a proven fact that the things that go wrong make an occasion and this surely fits that criteria. I bet the Father will be glad to pose with Miss Sophia at another time, probably more so than the actual day. Bet no bottles are forgotten ever again. I am honored that you thought my pictures worthy of your screensaver.

JM, kids never appreciate what they have, only what others have and it can be nothing particularly special either. Being an overprotective sort of person I had all sort of tempting things to attract my kid's friends to our house rather than have my kids elsewhere. My dd once complained that our house was so boring while her friends rolled their eyes. Many of them did not have parents who wanted them around so they liked me as a cookie baking, homework making mom, most of them are still friends of mine.

I cannot get my darned camera to download the pictures so I can delete the packed full memory card and I am too tired to try anymore. The light is not right for taking photos now any way. Too busy tomorrow as well. Wednesday, it is on Wednesday's list.

Good Morning :)

Guick question - the shift key fell off my laptop - would it be safe to use super glue to reattach it...sorry cannot add a question mark...I can use the caps for the first letter of a sentence...oh, this is driving me NUTS.:headache:

Thank you much.:thumbsup2

Uh oh! Lots of technical problems popping up.

M&N I asked my DH, of course his first response was "What did you do to my laptop?":rotfl: He said he didn't think he would superglue it. Have you tried to google it? I'm sure someone has posted about it.

SG, hope you get your camera to work.

M&N, glad the ceremony took place and S&G is correct, lots of memeories of that one.

Hope all are doing well!

Good morning everyone.

M&N wish I could help you with the key problem but I am not sure what would work. I would worry with super glue that too much would cause it to never be able to be used again. How about something tacky which might make the key stick up a bit but you wouldn't have to worry about it glueing down permenantly?

Well we are leaving in a couple hours so I hope everyone stays safe and healthy. I will talk to everyone in a few weeks.

Angela

Ang, you must be on your way by now.:woohoo: Will wave as you drive thru NC. HAve a great trip.

Godspeed.:goodvibes :goodvibes

p.s. was thinking a teeny drop of super glue on the thingy the key is supposed to sit on, which allows it to be typed on....clear as mud?

My dear M&N, if Miss Ang goes through NC on her way to DW she will be even more lost than I am capable of. She was probably within 15 miles of me at some point today though. Wonder if Will would have made her stop for me if I had been at one of the exits?:lmao: I sent you an email with some info on broken keyboard keys. I hope it helps.

Ang and Will, I waved at you, honestly I did. Did ya see me? Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that you have a safe and easy trip down. I will worry about your return later. I can only do so much you know.

JM, my camera is fine it is the download program that seems to be wonky. I was just too tired to deal with it last night and this is Tuesday, a horrific day for me always. I managed to squeeze in washing the car and going by to check on an older friend today along with taking Tom to a banquet as well as my regular stuff and believe you me, the regular stuff is enuff. My list for tomorrow is wearing me out and that is only the reading of it. OCD can be downright inconvenient at times. Was your hubby disappointed that nothing was wrong with his laptop as they would mean he would not HAVE to buy a new one?:dance3:

To sleep, perchance to dream, SG

Amg n Will just hit Tn border!!! And going strong per Ang!!!

Timmie, Ang must have gotten a late start to just be getting to the TN border by that time. Did she take 65? I leave here at 8 am and get to Louisville by 9 or better,Nashville a bit after lunchtime and hit Atlanta at the far end of rush hour. Sometimes I luck out and conditions allow me to get into FL before shutting down but not often.

We have fridge swaps and such so I think we should set up a system of safe houses so that DISers could spend a night at other DISers places on their way down and back. :thumbsup2 It would save us all enough money that we could spend a few extra days at that Magical Place.

Thank you for letting us know and please let us know when they arrive safely.

SG

Yes plus the fact i personally took the time off from it for my back surgery so I am not sure how well I will do when I get back to it. Vendors are very upptie(sp) and when you don't do business with them after awhile they just drop you off their lists so I will have to start from scratch again I believe.

Glad to see everyone had a wonderful Holiday Weeekend!
