Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

Had a nice weekend...
Saturday went to Diva Mary's youngest DD's 1st Holy Communion.
Sunday we went to http://www.guentherhouse.com/ we've gone every Mother's Day since we moved to Texas. The wait was only 1 1/2 hours (they don't take reservations and the wait is typically 2+ hours...but we pass the time walking around the grounds, its right on the San Antonio river, admiring other beautiful old homes in the nieghborhood...:lovestruc)

I spent Mother's Day trimming bushes. With my balance issues holding a powered hedge trimmer is a delicate operation. :scared1:

My step daughter, nearly my age, called me and for the first time in her life she has held down a real job for longer than two weeks. I am so hopeful. Her poor mother is dying of cancer and she must be so glad that it looks as if things are finally turning around. I can imagine her worry. I worry too. Living with her dad I figure I know where she got those genes from though.

Lisa, great job! I know how hard that is and you are doing it the right way, slowly but surely. Pounds lost quickly come back even more quickly. I am very proud of you and happy for you. :cheer2:

Diva K, what a divinely wonderful way to spend Mother's Day. I think San Antonio is one of the prettiest places I have ever been. Never did get to see the Alamo though. My darned bil took me to the Lone Star beer company though. He was dismayed because I spent my time looking at the O'Henry(aka William Sidney Porter) collection of books though. :rotfl:

Ang, I got your message today. I am having some computer problems and had to use the cell for a bit and it was a lovely surprise. Glad I got it before winter. :rotfl: Awww, that Will is just too sweet for words. You deserve him though and he deserves you. :woohoo:

JM, us Trekkers do not like to be called Trekkies. :lmao: Did you enjoy the movie? Good special effects? I need to find someone to go watch it with me. Luckily I know some folks who will lend me their sons for the day and be glad that THEY do not have to go or pay for it. :yay:

Memorial Day is coming up. My daughter was born that day and my son on Columbus Day. I am very patriotic.

I planted a small garden out front today and just finished filling the bed in with red lava rock. Looks pretty. I would like to put some small decoration out there but it would not last long. Anything in the yard or porch is safe as evidentally they are too lazy to extend themselves that far.

We'll be @Disney when the train comes to San Antonio! :rotfl:

even better :thumbsup2... PM me your addy to I can mail your mickey thignies.. I am hoping to find the pink and the red ones so atleast you can have a variety... but for now all I have ready is the green ones :confused3:idea:

Diva K, thanks for the link, that was great. I'll have to get DH to watch it. He will love it! Love where you celebrated Mothers Day. I wonder if my BFF has tried it. I hadn't heard of it, but I always spent more time in the Dallas area than San Antonio.

Ang, thanks for your link also. May have to drive over to Jacksonville to check it out. It was nice of me to let my boys see a non-chick flick wasn't it?:rotfl: Of course, me and DH had to run home and check out IMDB.com because we kept trying to figure out some of the actors in Star Trek and what other movies they had been it. So glad I found that website.

Lisa, I'm sorry, I forgot to congratulate you on the weight loss. I keep hoping I will lose some weight, but then have weekends like this past one where I can't stop eating.

SG, so you worked all day? Yes, do go see the movie, it really was good. I'd make those others go also, not just the kids.

Ok, got to get Jacob to school. Ya'll have a great day!
Melissa

Hey people, things are looking up in my neck of the woods. I have been invited to go see Star Trek with my grandson and my dd! :woohoo: We have always had a difficult relationship. My take is that it is uncomfortable for her to be around me cause I know most everything she did during her difficult years. I think she should get over it and be proud of how she has turned out. I take comfort in that she allows me to be a big part in raising her boys and since she is a good mom I know that she would not allow someone she did not trust to do so and so very often. :rotfl: I do not expect much and am seldom disappointed. Yes, I did work all day Mother's Day. Sitting around waiting for the phone to ring is not my thing. Children, got to love them and I show it by the fact that they are still allive. :rotfl2:

JM, I have driven through Dallas so I do not know much about it but I highly recommend a trip to San Antonio, especially the Riverwalk area. It is beautiful!

Diva K, being at Disney is a great excuse to miss most any old thing, no matter how great. I always go into my Disney.com site and change my address to whatever resort I am staying at just in case I win something big though. Oops, just noticed that the 'train' is a movie? If so the very best place to be is at Disney and watch it there! We caught one of the Pirates movies at Disney and it was a special occasion, even with the older couple sitting next to us eating an entire picnic meal. Looked good too!

Timmie, how about driving down here and fixing all my electronic issues. I have been having a multitude of them. Finally got my Internet back up and my network has somehow migrated to some other connection, but my Netflix and Wii are still perplexing. I only deal with one issue at a time otherwise things get even worse. I want to get this all fixed before my ds arrives. Have to remember to put a password on my accounts too as she is very snoopy. Glad I do not have too many skeletons in my closet.

M&N, how did your big weekend go? Did you take a bus tour? Those narrow one way streets are daunting.

SG

SG, it's good to hear that DD and DGS have invited you to the movie. You will love it I'm sure and will have great company.:goodvibes

I have been to San Antonio a lot and to the Riverwalk and you are correct it is beautiful, just don't know as much about the city of San Antonio as I do the Dallas area. Even though I grew up about 3-4 hours from both cities.

I hope you get all of your electronic issues fixed soon. I hate dealing with that stuff.

By the way, were you the one that asked me if I ever thought about working at WDW, or maybe it was Timmy? I remember somebody asked me here or on FB and I never answered. The answer is "YES"! I would love to, but we don't live close enough to do so now. I was just telling the DH I wouldn't mind volunteering to help people out. I always want to stop to see if I can help someone when I see them studying maps. DH is also considering it. He would love to get into their event planning, just not weddings. He was over the air show we had at our last base and he loved it. The excitement of never knowing what was going to happen next. So who knows, we just might do so in a couple of years when he retires.

Ok, need to get dressed. Constanze (one of my dogs) has an appointment with the eye doctor and I forgot school lets out early so I have to rush across Tampa to be at an 11:15 appt and then be back by 12:15 to pick up Jacob.

Hope you all have a great day!

JM, you don't have time to work @Disney...taking care of your poochies and Jacob is a full time job!
DH & I always say when we (he) retires we'll get a job at either @Disney or Colonial Williamsburg...he wants to be one of the people with the big Mickey hands that waves to people as they leave! :earsboy:
Off to have breakfast with Diva Mary @Cracker Barrel...her DB died Sunday and she leaves tomorrow for the funeral :sad1:

JM, I know that I once asked you about your Disney Dreams. :goodvibes I hear you on wanting to work there and the reasoning. I do such all the time and figure you might as well get paid for it,not to mention the discounts and such. I would love to be a Godmother who takes care of the little ones while their parents go out for the evening. Imagine getting paid for reading bedtime stories. I am going to the CC graduation ceremony tonight for the ones who will be going to first grade next year. I will see many of them at the after school program next year but some I might never see again. :sad1: It says a whole lot about who you and your husband are by the choice of your Disney jobs.

Diva K, would you please give my condolences to Diva Mary? Had her brother been sick? It is awful in any circumstances. You are such a good friend. :worship:

I have my computers back on line and on network as well as my Netflix. Only the Wii to worry about but I think it is the fact that it is now connected to a TV that might be too old. Easy fix there. Too much rain to do much outside. In between storms I weed some.

I get to make our ADRs on Sunday :cool1:
What time do they open on Sundays
I know its EST so it will be an hour earlier here
Diva Mary's brother died of a heart attack...he was only 38! :sad2:

Hey, Kris!

Don't ya just hate it when ya have a brain freeze?

"Dining reservations can be made from 7 AM to 10 PM (ET) seven days a week, except for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, when they close at 8 p.m."

How awful about Diva Mary's brother! 38!! How terribly tragic....my heart and prayer go out to his family.

Diva K, had Diva Mary's brother been sick? Did he have children? It is especially sad when someone so young passes on. I am the oldest of 8 and while a couple of the younger ones are in bad condition I have not lost a sibling yet but I fear the day.

I know it will mean a lot to Diva Mary to have you and her other Diva friends with her at this time.

He wasn't married, no kids...overweight, Mary said he basically didn't take care of himself...had been to the emergency room @3 days before he died complaining of back pain :sad2:

Diva K, my younger, much younger, siblings are in the same shape and facing the same end, I fear.

Food is the biggest addiction in the world and so much more dangerous because it is legal and everywhere. There is hardly a social occasion, if any, that I can think of that does not have food involved. You can go cold turkey on anything else, but not food. I feel for those folks cause I am one. I fight the fight every single day.

Just checked touringplans again...the good news is they down graded the crowd levels but switched the best/worst park days on me! :headache:

AK Donald’s Safari Breakfast (Tusker House)
*will ask for earliest available to get into park before it opens!

DS dinner Sci-Fi Dine-In
*never been before, do I have to request a "car?!?!"

Epcot dinner Le Cellier (Canada)
Epcot dinner Teppan Edo (Japan)

MK dinner Whispering Canyon Café (Wilderness Lodge)
MK dinner ‘Ohana (Polynesian)

Looks fabulous!! :cheer2:

Definitely request "a car, not too far back", when you check in at the window. It's possible you'll have to wait a bit longer, but it's never been longer than 5 - 10 mins. Once I changed cars three times (I know, but it was a weird day).

Have not done Donald's Safari since it moved to Tusker House (I did hear it is pretty tight seating though), but we LOVED the old Donald's Restaurantosaurus (was that the old name). It was a favorite of ours.

What, no Plaza in the MK??? Only so much a family can fit it, I guess! :thumbsup2

Aw, you're going to have such a wonderful time!! :yay:
