Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

Melissa,
No warning needed Will is stick skinny too. I fear we will look like the number 10 walking together because I swear all the calories he intakes go into my body. I swear with ADHD it speeds up the motabolism as well as the thought process and body movement.
I am sure they will have fun sucking in their stomachs to see who's ribs stick out most. lol As for the nekkid part the important thing is that he only run around nude at home and not at TL. lol

Obviously Will has more weight on him than Jacob. Jacob doesn't need to suck in his stomach. He use to think his ribs were muscles. He would always pump up his chest and say look at my muscles.

I use Norton Internet security 09 for virus scan and have had not problems with viruses. I also don't open any attachments unless they are business related. I'm glad you got your computer fixed now.
We have McAfee and just downloaded a Spyware program from PC Tools, but neither caught this thing. It was one of the "Personal Antivirus" things that a window pops up while you are online saying you may have spyware, well Jacob clicked on it, even though he has been told not to. The really strange thing was, it popped up while he was playing his game. We weren't even online, but I guess with a cable modem, you are actually always online.

How far of a drive is it to the parks for you? !!
I was trying to figure out the exact mileage it is about 16 miles to I-4 from my house and then we get onto I4 at exit 9 and WDW is exit 62, so a little over an hour. I know the exit number so I can use it to count down the miles.

I am going to try to get to Epcot a day early to see the topiaries on the last day of F&W. I love that kind of stuff.

Hope you make it because all I can say it WOW!

Just read about your poor doggie. I am sure he has been well loved the last 14 years and I am glad he is not in pain at least. !!

Thank you.

M&N,
Your grandaughter is so beautiful in her Easter dress. !!
I completely agree. So adorable.

DH doesn't like water either so the pool is not going to happen. He thinks he is made of sugar. Seriously, you should see him run for shelter when it rains at the parks. It is a sad sight to see a grown man running, hunched over, with his hand over his head to sheild himself while his wife and child stand there laughing hysterically at him while saying "your melting, your melting."

Angela

:rotfl: It takes about 30 minutes longer to pick up Jacob from school on rainy days because they walk each kid out to the car under umbrellas. But yet, they still allow all those other kids to leave that walk and ride their bikes.:confused3 Guess only those in cars melt.:rotfl:

Melissa, I am so sorry to read of Mozart's tumor. It is always so difficult when the time comes to make a decision based on comfort and quality of life..yet it tends to give us some peace to know we are loving them more than ever by keeping them comfortable.

I think you made a courageous decison about the x-rays...we would have made the same one.

We have 14 1/2 yr old and 16 yr old Maltese and for both of them have made the decision of quality vs quantity now. Both take Valium everyday to be comfortable and we access as needed.

 to you. Hang in there..be gentle with yourself.!!

Thank you. My BIL is a vet tech and he recommends the x-rays. He said they will only use a sedative that should be ok and it will help the doctor know better what we are dealing with. I trust him because I know he won't let any animal suffer.

I have your number and will text you as soon as I am in the neighborhood :lmao:

 for mozart...

and more !!! :hug::lmao:

my hair is curly too and just like Mel it takes me hours to straight it.. but since it is thick... they use the volume and ignore the curliness

love it  Diva K!!!

I'll be expecting a text. Thank you for the hugs. And I forgot to mention, thick, curly hair here also. Well, maybe not now because I got it cut last week and she thinned it out for me.

Well, need to help Jacob with homework. I think once that is done, I am making myself a drink, parking my rear on the couch and not moving.

I guess you can add me to your list. Mine's actually curly, not as curly as yours Kris. I just spend two hours straightening it!

Ohhhhhhhhh is that right ???? "running to the japanese hair shop.. getting the curtain weave" see no more curly hair !!!! hahahahaha

Just thought those with children that like bowling might want to take advantage of this http://www.kidsbowlfree.com/all_centers.php You sign up for the kids to get a card a month to bowl for free on weekdays. They also have an offer for $20 something dollars for the family to be able to bowl anytime the kid goes for free bowling. I thought it would be good when they are bored and want something to do.

Ok there are way too many curly haired people on this thread am I the only straight haired/wavy haired person here? lol

Lisa,
I love when I can add days to a vacation too.

Melissa,

I'm glad to hear that you can xray your pooch without discomfort.

Wow, only a little over an hour to Disney that would be awsome. I have to drive that far to grocery shop and that's not fun like Disney. lol

How nice the kids get walked out with umbrellas. At our schools it is a free for all no matter how old they are. We can't even get our teachers to take their assigned turn watching the kids before and after school to make sure they are safe and all on their busses so I highly doubt they would be willing to walk them out with umbrellas. lol

We had one teacher a couple weeks ago tell a parent and her child in front of the principal and her son's other teachers that it was not her job to wipe her or her son's A$$'s and the others backed her up. A lot of the teacher disrespect the parents and students like that and then they wonder why the school has a bad reputation.

The child is accellerated and the teacher said her child no longer qualified for the accellerated program because he got a couple F's on papers for not turning in his work the day it was due. The parent stated that her son got straight A's on all his other assignments and asked if they could either give the kids a syllibus stating when the assignments are due or if they could remind the kids or put due dates on the board. Well the school feels that reminders of due dates are equivallent to wiping a childs a$% I guess.

The school takes the stand that they need to be responsible so they are ready for college this is in spite of the fact that college students are given syllibus with all assignments and due dates so they can remember.

Well only 6 weeks left and then we are out of that mess they call a school. YEAH!!!! Anyway, my point is I would think walking kids with umbrellas would also be seen as wiping their butts at our school.

Ang

Timmy,
I will keep telling you that saving money is a good thing. Just take a deep breath, close your eyes, and repeat after me "I do not need more shoes or purses, I do not need more shoes or purses or rental cars on vacation." lol

Well... Ang!!!! I am booked... out at 7AM and in at MCO at 10AM on the 2nd... what time are you getting in that day ???:lmao:

I was thinking the same thing, Ang! I have straight, baby fine hair - not even one little wave. :confused3

:woohoo: Way to go, Timmie! Checking SW fares right now...darn, fares are still high from RDU. Airfare on SW from RDU have been high all year - I can go to Boston for less than MCO! Will keep checking and watch for dings...if this doesn't work out then there is always December.:thumbsup2

What a blessing, Melissa! Makes all the difference to be able to get advice from someone you really trust. Keep us posted, please?

M&N, did you help pick out the outfit? Do you have to put stuff for Sophia or is she one of those children who is not 'into' everything? I had one of each.

She's not getting around enough yet to know, but she's a feisty little one and very curious...just the kind of baby I like! She's just 7 1/2 mos and beginning to get around on the floor. I'm glad she wasn't an earlier crawler (not that she's late). She'll probably begin within the next couple of weeks. DS didn't crawl until he was 7 1/2 mos, but then he was like a race car... walked at 10 /1/2 mos, took off running and never lost his balance. Hope Sophia is not a repeat. ;)

Thanks again, everyone, for the sweet comments about Sophia.

Linda, I was with Mia when she bought the dress, but left it to her to choose. I love that it is simple and pretty. She had soft pink tights and precious white patent Mary Janes with a little bow on the top. Believe it or not, in person she is dark strawberry blond haired and blue-eyed!

Have a good evening, my friends. Rest well!

Timmy,
Cool, I get in on the 2nd at 10:10 but honestly I think they will change it and I will get in just before 11pm. Are you taking ME? If you want you can wait for Will and I but I wouldn't blame you if you don't want to. That might make the stores too tempting and you might spend too much $$$$. lol

Kristine,
Cute cartoons. When I was little I always wanted the curly hair but as an adult I understand how much work curly hair is and am glad I have brush and go hair.

playing it by ear... OK ???? right now I plan to take the ME... I get in at 10AM so we will end up at the same ME bus :scared:

finally going to bed... :laundy: is finally done... all I need is just make sure kitchen is clean before I turn off all the lights...:3dglasses

I woke up without my left knee killing me this morning and the bowling banquet was much better than I had expected so life is good, today.:rotfl:

Ang, I am just joshing with you about hitching a ride. Maybe some day though. I think traveling with you and Will would be almost as much fun as DW. :goodvibes As much as I like saving a dollar I will enjoy December better, weatherwise, than September. The heat kills me. BUT, I will be so forlorn at being here while you are all THERE!

As far as curly hair goes, I am older than you all are and have learned a fundamental truth of life. You gotta go with the flow. I used to try to make my hair do what I wanted and it was too much work, expense and pain. Now I let it do what it wants and other than a haircut every six weeks it is a breeze. I have even come to enjoy my hair. BTW, my hair is not really curly, my head is wavy.:rotfl2:

M&N, I like curious children as well. I also like questions, lots of questions. Otherwise you just might as well buy a doll. I can tell that you are not only a wonderful grandma but a fantastic mil as well.

Melissa, I know that this time is so very trying for you and your family but know that you are doing the kind and loving thing for your dear friend. If only humans were treated as well. I am sorry for what you are dealing with. It is the cost of love though.

Timmie, Ang gave you great advice. Cutting out wasteful spending with greatly improve your life and lessen a lot of your strain. There are those on the DIS boards who insist on spending gobs of money and feel that makes the vacation more fun but that only is if you are buying what you really want and you have plenty of money to support those habits. Most of us have common sense and are more moderate though. Okay, SOME of us (think me) are cheapskates.

Speaking of being a tightwad, again I advise you all to check out AVG free edition. It updates daily, sometimes more and is so easy to use. I have used it for years and have never had a virus get through. Ccleaner is great for keeping your system running efficiently and is easy and free. Almost anything you want for you computer, including programs, can be had for free.

Yardwork for the next two days. Have to work off that food somehow. :woohoo:

the only extra I inject for vacation is the car rental... before it was more cheaper to just drive everybody around rather than standing there debating where we are going instead one's driving and we are all debating... plus I really have not beenon the Disney Bus but maybe ones or twice... to scared that I would miss my stop (was in the Philippines and miss the stop and got mugged in college, was in China missed the right bus and end up in another town and had to wait for the next day to be able to go home!! Only one bus who goes in and out :faint: of the town... took the bus to AC,NJ and the bus decided to take a nap and we found ourselves getting out of the window the bus slid and fell on its side :lmao: a few of my Bus experiences!!!). But after evaluating last year's car rental expenses... the "griddy"part of me told me... hey I could have an extra vacation for those $$$ so yes... I will be brave.. I can do this!! I will do this!!! Oh God help me :scared:!!!

Thanks for posting the info on the tickets. I need to mention it to my neighbor.

You have had some crazy bus experiences, so I can understand why you would be afraid to ride the bus. It was only recently that we started driving from part to park. Even on our day trips if we decided to park hop, we rode the bus. You will be fine.

I woke up without my left knee killing me this morning and the bowling banquet was much better than I had expected so life is good, today.:rotfl:

Good to hear that your knee isn't killing you. Glad you had a good time at the bowling banquest.

You are so right about how we treat our animals by putting them down when they are in pain, but can not do that for humans, even when they are able to tell us they are in pain.

Taking Mozart for the x-ray this afternoon. Really do not want to do this, but guess we need to learn exactly how bad it is.

Since all of you know so much about tickets, got a question for you. My BFF has 5 day park hopper tickets with the no-expiration option. They will be at WDW for 6 day, so they need to add a day. Is it going to be $75, or the difference in what it would cost between a 5 day and 6 day? I have a feeling they have to pay the $75, but thought I would ask. They are thinking about keeping those tickets for another time and just going ahead and purchasing a 6 day ticket.

Timmy,
You didn't share your bus experiences with me. I understand why because you were afraid I would let you go on the bus ahead of me while I wait for the next one. lol I was on a bus at Disney that almost got in an accident and I would have flown out the front window had it hit the car that cut it off. Maybe my luck and your bad luck will combine to make for some really good bus rides.

Melissa,
If your friend has a 5 day non expiration my suggestion would be for her to max that ticket out because it will be good forever and she will only pay the difference of a 5 day to a 10 day which is minimal. With a 10 day ticket she can also add like 6 water park and more tickets for $55 that are good forever too on a NE ticket.

Linda,
If you change your mind you have my phone number. lol I know your not serious but I want you to know that I feel you are a very interesting person and would appreciate your company any time I drive down.

Ang

Melissa,
I just realized that your friend could have a used ticket she wants to upgrade and in that case she can't add any days to it if she used it more than 14 days ago.

I just looked up ticket prices and if it is a new ticket to upgrade from 5 to 6 days would cost her $13.85 to go from 5 to 10 days it is $154.43 per ticket so more than I realized because the NE goes up in price with the amount of days as well. I also found out that now if you pay for water parks and more you get as many options as you buy days on the ticket for $50 plus tax.

I forgot to respond to this. It is nice that they walk the kids out to the cars with umbrella's, but it is the 5th graders that do this, not the teachers. It is just that normally 8 or so cars have kids put in them at once, and when they do it with umbrella's it is only 3 or so. There are probably over 100 cars there to pick up kids so you end up sitting in line an extra 30 minutes. In Texas our schools had different dropoff/pickup points per grade so you didn't have the large backup. Just glad I don't live near that school and have to deal with the traffic. Guess I'm just grumpy.

Oh, and I was shocked by the teacher saying that to the parent also. I was telling my neighbor about it and she didn't agree with what the teacher thought, but her view is that kids in accelerated classes should be able to keep up with assignments and write them down when the teacher gives them out. Her daughter is in those classes and I see her point, but if a child could do well in those classes, but is just unable to organize be left out. I know Jacob would do a lot better and my frustration level would be better if I had as syllabus for him. I felt like we were going to get in an argument, so I switched subjects. But obviously I'm still thinking about it.

I get to make ADR's at 7:00am in the morning for the July trip and then off to Epcot. Afraid I may miss you Timmy since I have to get back in time to let the poor dogs out to go to the bathroom. Always picture my Boxer, Bubblegum, sitting in her cage with the legs crossed.:rotfl: I know its sad also.

I think I forgot to say this, or type it, Have a great Friday everyone!
