Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

You cannot get drunk at your parents house. Smart plan. Did they offer to keep your son so you could sleep in this morning?

SG/who is a very good grandma

You are an awsome grandma. Now do you want to adopt Will and I? lol Notice I put Will first.

Seriously, My mother has never, ever watched Will for me nor have my in-laws. It's all good though since I see it as my choice/my responsibility. It's just sad for him lacking a good relationship with his grandparents. I also only having 18 or so years to enjoy him and I figure in about 2 more years he will abandon me for a girl anyway. It's gonna be awful weird going out alone just Al and I for our anniversary again in a few years. lol

Just trying to catch up on the posts tonight since I missed a few days.

Happy New Year everyone.

Ang

Cheryl,
So sorry to hear about your dog. I too am a dog lover and it is always hard to lose the one who loves everything about you no matter what. Sending pixie dust for the rest of 09 for you.

Timmy,
All I can say is you are crazy. Skates on a waxed tile floor? How's your butt today? Oh yeah, how exactly did I get involved in your looking for the free presidential suite? lol

M&N,
I too miss walking. I used to live in a nice suburb of Chicago and walked miles every night even if it was just around the neighborhood. Now I live in no mans land with no sidewalks, corn fields (children of the corn) and crazy drivers who at times go 100+ mph since we are so far in the middle of know where with no police station for miles and miles. I figure it is either get hit by a car or kidnapped by one of those psycho children who live in the corn fields. lol Seriously there are coyote and coy dogs that are none too friendly out there.

Well I do have my exercise bike that I love so much and do ride daily but it is not nearly as fun watching TV while exercising as it was walking the neighborhood.

Pooh,
I hope you get your health under control soon. Maybe 2009 will be your year.

Kristen,
Glad to hear you had a good vacation and got to see the snow. Now get home safely.

To everyone else I send a big hello.

Ang

You all are just too much. Wears me out just reading about what all you are up to. :dance3:

I managed to stay awake until midnight.:cheer2: Probably because the Travel Channel had the DW Christmas Show on and I enjoyed seeing the places I missed this year.

MN, I work for room and board too. :laundy:

Pooh, now that it is time for a whole new deductible that darned back will start acting up. Hope I am wrong.:flower3:

Diva K, glad you survived unscathed. Bummer on not being able to go on any of those trips. Hopefully more wil come along that you WILL be able to do.:cloud9:

Jan, my favorite toast - "Here's to you and here's to me, may we never disagree, cause if we do, here's to me the heck with you".:rotfl:

Timmie, hope you and your friends were able to stay up late too. :grouphug:

SG

your right it starts all over again and yes I will have something done to my back what I am not sure of yet but I will be seeing a surgeon(sp) this month. Hopefully he or she will give me good news. Keep you posted though.

How are you doing since your procedure?

Cheryl so sorry to hear about your baby. I can feel your pain, they are just like your children.

Ang, Thanks but no biggie thing here just a few blown disks and a nod and a bunch of cycts that need to be looked at but this might be the problem all along for my legs and feet.

thanks everyone, its very hard when moving. I'm not sure if my cats know he is not coming back yet. (Sigh) Also calling my old friends and my family to tell them.

Ang!!! I finally got my mail.. and thank you for supporting my vice!!! I am saving my card for my next trip to the World.... :goodvibes :worship: :cloud9:

Ladies, I am slowly coming to grips with reality. Tomorrow, I return to work and will have to work a full week. This is just so WRONG. I haven't worked a 5 day sweek since early-November. Between the extra days they give us at Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, I was able to parlay my 6 remaining vacation days into not spending much time in the office. But that all ends tomorrow morning, bright and early.
2008 we got so many bonus work holidays. Since July 4th, Christmas and New Years all fell on a Thursday, the company gave us the following Friday. For 2009, there is no such generosity. :( We get a "floating holiday" to use whenever we choose this year, but they took away MLK Jr. day. We'll get President's Day but then there is a long dry spell until Memorial Day. Of course, I have my own vacation time that I can use, so I'm not really complaining. I get 3 weeks vacation plus 9 days of sick/personal leave to use however I choose. And I'm going to WDW in April, so I think that's an excellent use of 5 of my days.... don't you all agree?

I'll be making dining reservations tomorrow morning!!!

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST USE OF THOSE 5 DAYS!!

Looks like we're in the same boat work wise...since my DD returned to work on December 1 there has not been a week without one or more (mostly more) days off due to the holidays...not so beginning tomorrow. Sophia and I will be together 8:30 to 6:30 every day, but no complaints about that blessing.

DD has good vacation allowance (about 35 days a yr, including holidays, not including her sick days), but there are no days available to take off! It's the first time she worked in such a large office (33) and all the dates are taken.

How life has changed here in NC - in Boston I worked at a Catholic Scool, so between Holy Days, teacher days, Federal holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Winter and Spring break - then summer...well, I was soo spoiled!! Reality is differnet now, but that's life and we adjust.

Let's enjoy our last day of freedom, Mom2Evie! I'm off to Mass then a nice walk around the village style Mall.

Happy Sunday everyone! ::yes::

P.S. Might have a road trip to Tampa with DD and DGD to visit her friend in June, but no time for Disney! :sad1:

Got in @12:30am last night/morning :drive:
DS has a basketball game this afternoon, will hit the grocery store...laundry calling :laundy:

Diva K, since I live pretty near the KY border you could have waved and I might have seen ya! Glad you had good weather to go home in. That is always a crap shoot. :)

M&N, I remember having my grandchildren every single day and most of the time I enjoyed it but there were those days when it was not so much fun. Going to FL and no time for Disney? That is just plain WRONG!!! You and I have so much in common, coffee and alcohol-wise. HIC!

Angie, nice of you to say, and yes, I would adopt Will, YOU can be my friend. :lmao: I just think you two belong together and I am so glad that you found each other. I miss not having my grands around so much, along with many of the other kids who used to sneak in also. My youngest grandson sent me an email this morning. A Youtube of Weird Al doing a riff on Ebay. Love it!

Timmie, I do not think you would have to wring Ang's arm too much to go on a road trip. You can all come back my way and stop for a visit. Bet YOU will not get lost in the parking lot either!:lmao:

M2E, I can think of no better way to spend five days of vacation. Round these parts, where they are cutting work days and hours, a full week's work looks mighty good to some. It is harder on females cause we have to earn the paycheck AND do the domestic stuff. We NEED the vacation more!

cherylp3, when my dd and family moved down to the old farmhouse, a hop and a skip down the road, she found her youngest, a few months later, looking out the window and he asked her when they were going back 'home'. I hope it all goes well for you and yours.

Nancy, I hope you get it all figured out and can get those things taken care of, AND hope it all works out well. Just make sure you get at least two, and maybe three, opinions. Not sure how I am doing. Will know the 11th.

I took a break and watch a movie I had never seen. It was "Gaslight". I had heard about it and knew the plot. It was amazing seeing all those famous folk from when they were so very young. Angela Landsbury was a mere 19.

No Netflix box, yet. Bummer. I had hoped to get it yesterday so I could play with it this weekend. Would not have gotten anything else done though.:confused3

SG

SG,
I'm willing to take the friend role and I would not leave Will for the world. The other day we were watching the Dave Thomas adoption program on TV and he looked at me and said said "mom you know I am not adopted don't you" I looked at him dumbfounded and he said "Well I don't feel adopted because I belong here so I'm not" Kids say the darndest things. I said "that sounds good to me."

Ang, I watch many families interact and greatly enjoy seeing functional families, or even dysfunctional but loving.

Anyone can see that you and Will are a perfect fit. It was fated, meant to be.

No idea - am sure she told me, but you know the ole in one ear and out there other story? Will find out - it would be fantastic to see
you guys!!

glad you got home safely!!!:grouphug:

Ditto, Kris. Nothing like arriving home and hitting the ground running. Hope you are able to get some rest. Welcome home!

Speaking of rest - for some reason 4 a.m. has become my new wake up time. By noon I'm ready to fall over. Used to set my brain for whatever time and always awoke 5 mins prior. Still do not use an alarm, but am quite sure I did not say anything to this brain about 4 a.m.!! Funny things age does...just think what you have to look forward to.:thumbsup2

SG, think we have even more in common than coffee and alcohol....we're both old as dirt!!! :dance3:

Hey there M&N, I will have you to know that I am getting younger looking everyday. :cool1:

Of course it helps that I looked so bad when I was younger.:lmao:

I would argue about being older than dirt but anyone who says "Whoa Nellie" ain't no spring chicken.

Older than dirt is not so bad since I recently learned that the Earth is only 6,000 years old. :confused3

Weird I am watching the history channel and they just said the Earth is 27,000 years old and that was back when cavemen were around.

How interesting life is when we have so many things based on different opinions and speculations.

LOL It's all GOOD!!! Of course, it was meant only in the most complimentary way! You know what "they" say - age is a gift and with it comes wisdom & grace.

Would either of us want repeat the last 10 or 20 years? Well, I wouldn't mind going back to the time when money was not so important and more plentiful. I definitely would not want to go back to 10 yrs ago...20....maybe...maybe....

27,000 years old Ang? Then I must apologize, Ms SG, we are definitely not older than dirt!!:thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Happy Monday, Everyone!:flower3:

Back to school and work for DS & DH...me...I am going to Cracker Barrel for breakfast with Diva Sheryll (who has the day off!!! :woohoo: )
Life is Good (except for that pile of laundry waiting for me :laundy: )

Oh,oh, oh...yum!! Have fun you two!!! Have a yummy breakfast for me too....

And, hey, the laundry will wait. ;)

Have fun!
