Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

You cannot get drunk at your parents house. Smart plan. Did they offer to keep your son so you could sleep in this morning?
SG/who is a very good grandma
DH, DS and I went to bed before them...their party didn't break up until @3am! (My DM was the last one up this morning!)
Do you have pork & sauerkraut today for good luck?!?!? Ours has been in the crock pot since @4am! :stir:

Black eyed peas and corned beef and cabbage are the lucky foods around these parts.

Just who put the sauerkraut in the crockpot, your DM?

I am having pizza for dinner cause I ain't been nothing but bad this holiday and have been eating anything I wanted. I am lucky to have only gained about three pounds. :rolleyes1

I am messing around trying to avoid starting to do 2009 budget. :scared1:

What a lovely smell to wake up to. :rotfl: Also wondering how it fared in the crockpot, unless on low, as it might have melded into a light brown mess at my house.

I like saurkraut. Especially on Reuben sandwiches, which I am not allowed to have. :confused3

Thats the only way we ever make it...:thumbsup2
I've never been crazy about sauerkraut but apparently you must eat it on New Years Day for good luck :shamrock:

Happy New year!!!!!!!!!!!

Jan, my favorite toast - "Here's to you and here's to me, may we never disagree, cause if we do, here's to me the heck with you".:rotfl:

Timmie, hope you and your friends were able to stay up late too. :grouphug:

SG

Yes!!! I was able to make it on the 2nd bottle :drinking: and by 5AM I was done yacking on the phone... 2009 is looking good right now!!!!!

No NY resolution... just continue on eating good food.. drinking good wine.. and working more hours to be able to have more vaca time... :goodvibes

Food for goodluck ??? we have noodles.. lots of noodles for long life.. no fish no chicken... any four legged animal would do :thumbsup2 :lmao: so the upcoming wealth will be more grounded !!!:confused3 thats what my grandmom told us always... and 13 different kind of fruits have to be on the table before the midnight comes...

well now I ma back to work... thank God no hang over!!!:goodvibes

Diva K, what do I know about cooking? My son always used to say that he knew when it was time to eat because the smoke detector was going off. I have since moved it away from the stove.:cool1:

Timmie, you drunk all that wine and do not have a hangover? I got one just reading about it. Please return the toast when you are done. I know far more interesting ones. I am believed to be the first female bartender in a certain state. Also the first female gas jockey in another. I had an interesting life before I was caged. ;)

well our new year is not starting out so great. We got a call from the vet that our 11yr old dog died. :(

cherylp3, I am sorry to hear your news. I just got a call from my step daughter that her dog (16) has just passed away also. Not a good start to the year. Hopefully things will improve.

Timmie, I do not understand why some drinks affect you and some do not but have faith in your ability to know how to drink. You too, Bonz. :dance3: For me it is a spectator sport.

Diva K, I used to be quite a cook. Nowadays I seldom cook. Refer to my PM. Neither one of us needs to eat much anyway and I cannot resist home cooking, even my own. Not in the Martha Stewart school though, maybe Paula Deen. :rolleyes1

That reminds me of a song I heard in Nashville!! He sings about the same toast but changed it to we'll be best friends anyway: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=233194173 click on the "best friends anyway" song.

Cheryl, so sorry to hear about your pooch, I know they are just like a member of the family.

My sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved pets
We are dog people and it broke our hearts when our golden retriever died @5 years ago (he was our first baby  )

We had a scare Christmas morning when our vet called to tell us one of our labs was sick (diarrhea.) They gave him some medication and when we called the next day they said he was fine but I am still worried :worried:
I'll feel better when we pick him up and get him home :dogdance:

Cheryl sorry to hear about your dog and also for your stepdaughter SG. Not the way to start out the New Year at all. I have had dogs all my life and know how it feels to lose one. Never easy.

Sounds like everyone had a great time for New Years! We ended up staying home, which we were glad we did so we could make sure the house didn't burn down. I have always previously lived where you couldn't pop fireworks in the city limits and this place isn't one of them. DH said it sounded like Bahgdad. He finally put his headphones on and listened to some music so he wouldn't hear them. One group of kids even let this field burn, wasn't a big fire, just a little patch, but they eventually went in and when DH was on his way with a shovel, another neighbor went over and put it out. It was crazy.

I started feeling bad New Years, I guess I did too much at WDW. Yesterday, I popped a couple of pills not knowing what they really were, thought they were just allergy pills. Nope, generic benadryl, so I ended up sleeping all day.

As much as I gripe about my DH, he did clean house for me. His family arrives today for his promotion on Monday.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Melissa

I have determined that today I am going to start behaving myself again. I took a vacation from my diet and managed to accumulate at least three pounds. I have to work so had to get them off that you would think I would know better. :confused3

jmskinner, we have folks who shoot off firearms round these parts. I cannot hear so they do not disturb me, noise wise. You MUST check what pill you are ingesting, it could have been a whole lot worse than sleeping all day. Are you sure you did not do it on purpose so your hubby would clean?:rotfl:

Diva K, we always feel better when our loved ones are where we can see them because WE are the only ones we trust to care for them. :lovestruc

M&N, if only my stepdaughter really cared. I fear she is afflicted with her dad's disease (she was not raised by him and only met him a few years ago) and does not really care about anyone but herself and she does a terrible job at caring for herself. She is just a bit younger than I.

Timmie, you have the coffee, I'll have the tea. I hate Java, it hates me. Sort of like gasoline, I like the smell but do not want to drink it.

Jan, I like your version better. My mom taught me that toast when I was a wee child. Explains why I am warped, but not why I like being so.:dance3:

I did most of the year end finances yesterday and will finish up today. Have some bookwork to do for TOPS as well as a few other odds and ends. I am also cleaning cupboards in the kitchen. I call it cross training as I tend to do several things at once. I cannot sit for long periods of time so I take work breaks, just do a different chore. I am thinking of taking the day off tomorrow and go to town for some walking. Part of my 'getting back on track'.

Good Morning! :flower3:

It's cold here in NC this morning ...brrrr...I'm freezing, even when I have all this fat to keep me warm. Wonder if I'll ever see my former self again? This move changed me from normal to well, let's just say I walked at least 2 or 3 miles a day and in the 2 1/2 yrs we've been here I sit in a chair most days. No sidewalks plus clueless drivers means no walking for me. Of course, there is nowhere to walk to. Such a city girl.

SG, no coffee for me either (although I love the smell and cofffee ice cream is a fav). Christmas Tea is my drink...not much alcohol either since tipsy comes a little too naturally. ;)

Well, better get a movin' - meeting a friend for lunch today - will be nice. We'll gab our way through lunch and maybe go see "Four Christmases".

Blessings on your day, my friends.:flower3: Safe travels to those who will be on the road today. :goodvibes

it maybe a new year but still have the old aches and pains... work got a lil bit crazy last night that I had to put on my skates to keep up... and this morning woke up with ache all over my body :( ... 2009 is just mean... letting me know HE is winning.. I am aging :sad1:

Happy 2009 Everyone!!!:thumbsup2

Sounds like everyone had a good evening!

Kellie has a friend sleeping over tonight, so I guess it will be a late evening for me....as I'm sure they will be up giggling all night long. :rotfl2:

I'm sitting here watching Ghost Whisperer, I love the show, but sick of repeats.....bring the new shows back please!

So my vacation is quickly coming to a close, and I didn't even break the bank either.........Need to save up as much $$$ as I can for our next WDW trip. :yay:

Have a good night.
