Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

No wonder our politicians are not able to solve the problems of the day. Just saw the mayor of New York telling folks to watch out cause it might be slick. :lmao:

It is sunny and dry here except for being a bit cold.

Sure glad I am not driving down or back from DW today. Looks scary and more so for being out with folks who have no idea of how to drive in snow and ice.

I hope it improves for them soon.

Just came from the CC where I had a delightful morning. The kids were full of questions. I love questions. It is Dr. Suess's birthday today so it was a bit more special. I credit him for doing more for making children want to read than anyone. The teachers did not realize he was a real man. I told his story over and over. Happy Birthday Theodor Seuss Geisel.:cheer2:

When DS was in Kindergarten they celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday by having green eggs (scrambled eggs with green food coloring) and ham. I was there helping and the green eggs looked like green Play-Doh...poor DS tried them and subsequently threw them up...we were just talking about this because I was brainstorming ideas for green food for St. Patrick's Day and said I could put green food coloring in mashed potatoes or applesauce and DS said not to do it! :sad2:

Diva K, the secret is to use a tiny bit of food color. Kool Aid is even better but does not work so well with eggs. Yuck! :lmao:

My dgs loved blue food and often asked me to make him whole meals of blue food. Luckily it was the early 90's where you could find blue catsup and even blue french fries along with other strange things. He still loves blue licorice and when I find it I have to stock up. :cool1:

The things we do for our kids.

SG

Dr. Suess is who got me loving books when I was little. I would read them over and over a million times. I could sit in the library all day and read.

When DS was little he insisted I make him green eggs and ham so I did. Then he said but the ham has to be green too so I smeared green food coloring over the ham. He sat there looking at it amazed that I could do it. He then refused to eat it because he said it was gross. lol At least he didn't get sick. Sorry to hear Kris's DS did.

I remember green and purple Ketchup. DS loved the green but it made me sick to look at it. lol

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Melissa,
Are you still here? Hope I didn't scare you away the other day with visions of teens hanging in the woods behind your house every day.

Ang

Ang, I am surprised. I would have figured that Will would be up for most anything out of the ordinary. :rotfl: Figured that is why he liked me. (and I liked him):lovestruc

The cadence of the Suess books trap kids. I have been reading some of them for over fifty years now. I had some youngsters 'reading' a book to ME today. They have memorized it and really enjoyed showing off. :cool1:

I get teens that linger round these parts because of my locale and a dark spot behind my garage. I go out of my way to be friendly to them, I figure that it is harder to do mean things to someone you like and if that does not work at least they might think I could recognize them in a line up.

Will was just in an I want to be in control mood that day and didn't think it could be done. Then when he found out it could he took control by refusing to eat. Kids!!!

You are only out of the ordinary because you are a nice person and didn't let life's lessons cause you to be mean and cynical like some do. That is a good out of the ordinary.

All you do for the children around you remind me of a woman who lived down the block from us. She took me and my two brothers (we were a year apart in age) under her wing and would invite us in from time to time to tell us storys, teach us things (I know how to crochet and make candy because of her) and just to show us love and give us attention. Her and her husband would do something special for each of us for our birthdays too. Those two people really made a huge difference in our lives that we will forever be grateful for. Sadly, they are no longer on this earth but they are forever in our hearts. Keep up the good work. Kids deserve it and we so often forget that.

What are you crying about, Timmy?

at 9:12AM from PHL to Detroit... at 11:10AM thats the kast time I can talk to her in US Soil... then I have to wait for 7 months till I wish she goes home again :sad2: :lmao: :goodvibes

Well that is a good reason to cry. I am sure you will miss her dearly. BTW, that video you put on FB of her was so cute.

iom woke up at the right side of the bed she can really be very funny... and she is the type of bar Buddy you would want to be with... she hates to see nobody is drinking :lmao: her thing is... if you are in a place where they are serving drinks you better mke sure you have a tab.. but she knows her limit she never get the crazy loud type a drinker... so that video was def'ly alcohol free :rotfl2:

Kris,
Isn't Typhoon Lagoon awsome. DS and I love the wave pool and we will be doing it in June. I hope it's hot enough because I know October won't be hot enough for me.

Would you want some company? TL is Jacob's favorite park. Loves the wave pool. He is a bit more cautious of it now then he was two years ago. Back then he would go as deep as possible holding on to me, now he wants to stay where it is shallow, which I don't like because I end up all scraped up. I'll let you know how it is in April because I am sure we will go over Spring Break!

I have offered to donate fat cells to some of those skinny Bee Otches out in Hollywood etc. since they do not seem to have enough in their posteriors to inflate their faces. Poor dears.:snooty:

:lmao: :rotfl2:

Big pot of chili on stove for dinner and miles to go before I sleep. Broken bathroom, always something. Got a note from our insurance and they want another $100 a month. How dare they steal from my WDW account! I think DW should be covered by insurance for my mental health. :flower3:

SG

Sorry to hear about insurance increase. Things like this is what scares me about DH retiring in 4 years. He hasn't a clue what things cost and with Jacob's ADHD and sensory issues I know insurance is going to be awful.

Ang
No, you didn't scare me away. Kids have since stayed away. I'm sure their parents are watching a little more closer now.

Timmie, love the video. Where's the one with the alcohol?:rotfl: Glad you had a great time with your Mother.

Hi everyone! I feel like I have been away forever. Computer is back up. I have spent the last two days trying to get everything back on it. The Dell technician caused me to erase everything off of the hard drive. Told me to buy a new hard drive because obviously mine has crashed and to call Geek Squad to see about recovering the data. Well, Geek Squad came on Sunday, hard drive was perfectly fine, just nothing on it. :scared1: Oh well, it is like having a brand new computer. At least I have moved some stuff to an external hard drive, but couldn't get it to work yesterday. Finally got mad, slammed it down on its side and the thing decided to work. :confused3

Sounds like for the most part everyone is doing well. Boy it feels good to be back. Well, now I have to get Jacob started on his homework. :wave2:

Melissa,
So glad to have you back on the puter.

We would love to meet you at TL in June. Now I wonder if Timmy would want to go with us too? She talks about loving it there so I bet she would be up for a visit. Let's see if she answers this message.

Anyway, Will and I usually swim out to the deep water and ride the waves in but we are up for anything. I did a few of the slides there last year but since we live near a big water park and Wisconsin Dells is 2 hours away the slides at TL are whimpy IMO. I do the wave pool, Sharks Reef (my favorite), and the lazy river. We could stay all day and be content.

I will PM you my cell phone number before we leave.

Ang

If you guys get together for dinner give me a holler.

Also Ang: A tip for facebook is that you can organize your friends. Make a group and then you can add people by name. Then when you click in, click into that group and see your friends updates.

Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone is having a good night.....

I was laid off from my job of 11 years today, so I've been bummed out big time today. I knew it was going to happen, I was just hoping it wasn't going to happen to ME!

I have a feeling, we won't be going to Disney in Sept/Oct because of this :sad1: which is upsetting Kellie, she want's me to bring her to my old job and she wants to yell at my old boss for letting me go! :rotfl2:

Well, I guess I have plenty of time to Dis now....:thumbsup2
