Sci Fi still gets mixed reviews, but we always enjoy it - be sure to request cars or they will put you at the tables which are not nearly as much fun! They should be able to get you in cars close to one another, so you can see one another in the dark!

My DS likes the idea of sitting in the cars, dark, movies, hamburgers, milkshakes, onion rings...I'd rather do the Fantasmic Dinner&Show package and eat @Mama Melrose but I am always up for something new!

We did not enjoy Ohana for dinner, but I was very surprised by how much we enjoyed breakfast!

I was surprised how much the Divas enjoyed it...we loved the salad dressing...I really didn't like the atmosphere (didn't help that it was pouring rain outside the window) crowded, loud but think the kids will like the coconut races and Timmy's friend with the ukulele!

Donald's Safari - have you been there since it moved to Tusker House? We loved it before the move, but have heard now it's hurry, hurry, hurry and crammed seating. Will look forward to hearing your experience.

We were there once before it moved to Tusker House and have been three times since...I think there is more room @Tusker House and have never felt rushed...we like to get the earliest seating so we can into the park before or opens!

Beaches and Cream is the BOMB!!!! their Cheese burgers or Hamburgers (however you like them) are so juicy!! My mouth is watering just thinking about one and the Onion Rings oh my lord!!!

That's really good to know about Donald's Safari because we've been hesitant to try it - next time we will...and we do the same, book early in the morning.

Oh! I'm not usually a fan of the dining plan, but suggested it might be worth looking into - what do y'all think? Since they are on a budget (aren't we all), would the dining plan give them more for their money or can they do 2 or 3 sit downs and the rest counter service and spend less than the dining plan?

Our two previous week long trips we have purchased the DDP. We really enjoy and are going to miss it for the July trip. Staying at SoG and can't get it there. I know you pay for it up front and it isn't cheap, but we would never eat at all those sit down restaurants if we didn't have it. Plus, you get dessert and I don't know about anyone else, but when desserts are $5 or 6 each, we don't usually buy any, so I enjoy the DDP for that reason.

Put my deposit down today for August

Since we are going in August now, the kids want to do water parks...we went to Blizzard Beach back in 2002 and haven't been back (never Typhoon Lagoon.) How does the ticketing work? (We haven't decided if we are going to get Park Hoppers or not.) Do we just get one day @one water park? What else do we need to know?
( * We were thinking of doing a water park the afternoon we of the day we go to AK because they are nearby and also because we are going to do Donald's Safari Breakfast early that morning and hopefully will have done everything we will have wanted to do @AK by mid-day....)

I think there is an after 4:00 price, but I may be wrong. We have always purchased the Water Park and More option. We love Typhoon Lagoon.

Also, the two times we have gone they had EMH on Saturday night and we went on those nights. They stop the waves when it starts getting dark, but you could do all of the slides really quickly.

I've had an exciting day. We have had problems with kids in the area. Nothing major, just them hanging out in empty homes etc. Well, today my neighbor and I notice that they are hanging out in the street about 8:00am. I guess the boy down the street isn't allowed to hang with these kids because they park in front of my house and walk down to his.

I notice the kids going across the street to where there are two new houses no one has moved in to. But then I notice they have went into the conservation lot behind our house. Same place they lit a fire a couple of months ago, which is scary because we are under a fire danger. Which the part of the conservation lot behind our house burned the Summer before we moved in.

So, I call my neighbor who is watching them also. She calls the Sheriff. In the mean time we notice the boy's mother driving off and when she sees the car in front of my house she slows down and stares really hard and then drives off. Eventually a deputy drives up and my neighbor told him they were behind our house. So, we both watch from our windows as parents are called and pick up their kids. The deputy makes one kid get in his car stating "Get in the car you liar!" I stopped watching, but I guess he got taken to jail.

Received other news today. DH is going to DC for a month. And my stepdad is going back to work as a contractor in Iraq for six months. I think with both men gone, I may see if I my Mom wants to come visit.

Today I've been dealing with something a bit overwhelming...sigh... financially things have not gone well for me since the move here (no job for over a yr, then one for just a few months, which meant had to use every penny of savings)...looks like I must file for bankruptcy. There, I've said it. ..sigh...well, it really is not the end of the world...I am so very blessed in many ways...living with DD, baby Sophia...many are in much worse straits than I.

So many losing their homes....so many having to go to food banks...

Yes, I am blessed.

Kris, I am a FB failure! Deleted my account today...could not keep up...maybe later when things settle down here.

JM, how scary!!! Io hope your mom can stay with your for awhile while DH is away.

Sorry to hear you are going through such a rough time. I hope it turns around soon, for everyone's sake. But I agree, it is good that you get to spend time with Sophia and DD.

JM, Thank you for the good thoughts. Although I never thought I'd be so public about something so personal, it is nice to have a place to come and feel free to share the tough times as well as the good.

Kris!!!!! NO!! It was fun!! I am delighted you invited me to join! And when things settle down I'll be back! I just knew I was spending too much time where I needed to spend time elsewhere right now.

You can reactivate your account whenever you want to (thats what my DM did after her brief deactivation last week...she was worried about privacy issues...but she couldn't stay away! )
Don't worry about keeping up with all the silly stuff (ie flip flops, gems, lucky charms, hugs, etc...)
just do what you want to do (like playing Kidnapped! Melissa!?!!?)

Christy noooooooo you are not an FB failure... do you know how many times I activated... deactivated and activated again my FB.... I still dont know hows the ins and out of FB.. still dont know where to find things... but having good friends to ask $tupid question got me going.... so... whenever you are bored... do FB and when it does not work leave it alone again.. it is just another form to converse... but hey... with all the things we got.. the DIS.. email.. text... phone we all sure connect one way or the other...
