SEPT 2009 code watch

On the watch for a code - planning to book for 9/26-10/3/09 next week. Do you still have to keep watch if you work with a travel agent or do they do that for you?

Maybe I'm just compulsive about this kind of thing, but I would watch, because sometimes we hear things here on the DIS before some travel agents do, and then you could let your travel agent know something is coming!

My AAA TA says the same thing, I even copied some things from these boards which proved her wrong and she was happy to know the information. She was able to do all the work for me like the phone calls and such for my trips. She will also let me know when I can book our flight. On our next trip I think I get Disney's rates and get AAA perks also.

I am booked for 2009 at POP with free dinning, booked the bounce back. I called today to see if we could get into CBR. NO LUCK. Even if I changed the dates. Do you think FD will be offered again and more rooms will open up at CBR. We also have AAA. They said those rooms are not open yet. If I got a good enough discount, I could add the dinning and it would come out close to the same. I can hope for a 40% off code. I want to stay at CBR!!

Dbf gave me the thumbs up to book a trip for next year, right now I'm thinking either 9/20 to 9/26 or 9/27 to 10/3.

I'm trying to do the math, and it appears that FD would be a better deal for us than a hotel discount (or is it a package discount?). Which is weird, because we got the Fall discount rate this year and the FD package would have cost us more. Am I missing something??

We booked bounceback with FD for POR Sept 19-Oct 3 2009.
We may change it to Sept 12-Sept 26 instead as we hated how crowded it as at Epcot during the food and wine festival however the weather was much nicer ... we were there from sept 20- Oct 4 this year and we rarely used our ponchos.

Ok, I am in. We are planning a trip back again in Sept. 2009. I have a couple qustions. When do the codes come out? If I book our trip now can I use a code when it comes out or do I need to wait we have a code? I would love to stay at the Poly this time. Sorry for all the questions.

if you book a package now and a code comes out later, you can call and have the rate modified.

then, you will have your package with a code that might have free dining or a cheaper rate.

only thing that could be a problem if you are counting on a code to come out, only a % of rooms at some hotels are set aside for it.

you may book a package at the Poly now, but the rooms set aside for codes may have reached its limit and not allowing you to use that code.
that would leave you with your original booking with rack rates or ap rates but no discounted code.

if you have your heart set on the Poly, book now and keep up on the thread for when code come out.

Hi all! I got something from wdw yesterday, only an advertisment for BLT, bummer! I have been reading all the posts and I noticed some people thinking of staying until 10/3, doubkle check but I think that last day of value season is 10/2 and they will charge you the higher rate for that last day, not a big deal but something to consider if your dates are flexable.
*** I just checked wdw site, last day of value is 10/1

I used a travel agent that did not even know about ALL of the codes a few years back. I couldn't get a rate with a code and was told my travel agernt may be able to get it for me, so I called him and he has no idea about it. He used the info I had and applied it to ours and others that he had trips booked for that time. This was an American Express travel agent.

You are right. We payed a higher rate this year for Oct 1,2,3 2008.
Value ends...@ checkout on Oct 1.

I just had to switch my dates because my boss is an idiot (thats another whole story). The difference from my original stay 9/12-9/20 to the new dates of 9/26 - 10/4 was only $48 at CSR.
