Sept 2007 My Affair w/Mickey -- Complete!

I wanted to share with you all what is happening now...

We went to start our 3rd IUI cycle on Saturday and they found cysts, probably left over from the fertility medicine from the last IUI...this is normal and just delays the IUI until they disappear, normally by next month. However, doc told me that if they are not "hormone producing" then we can start right away. A blood test confirms it.

So I'm bawling my eyes out on the drive home but there's nothing we can do until we get the results. I get a call later in the day and nurse says they cannot start the IUI cycle because..... I am 4 weeks pregnant! WHAT?!!!

But I had my period -- maybe not quite as heavy but it was definitely there. The nurse said that some women can have their period for up to 16 wks and still be pregnant. I never heard of such a thing. My HCG count was 111 (pregnant is considered 25).

Yeah, happy, happy, joy, joy. I am completely in shock!!

So I get a 2nd blood test on Monday and we just got the results today. My HCG count went down to 72.

I go tomorrow for another blood test to see if my HCG count goes back up...I admit right now I'm feeling pretty angry and hurt. I feel like it's a big, cruel joke.

BUT I know God has plans for good for us...and will trust Him with our baby --either here on earth or in heaven. I know we are all in His hands.

Anyway, I guess I'm writing this as part of my therapy -- writing down my thoughts to help make them real to me.

Thanks for listening.

Wow Marshay, that is really something! I hope and pray that you have a healthy baby growing inside of you and that you and baby will be just wonderful!!! I know right now you are mad, hurt, angry and as well you should be. Let it all in God's hands as you said and see what happens from here. I will be praying for all of you. Please keep us posted and know that we all truly care very much. Glad Bless You!!!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes, prayers, thoughts and pixie dust! Right now I'm just waiting for the results...I should find out tomorrow and will let you all know, too.

G'nite!

Hey Marshay! I just found your report (I know, I know). When I saw the quote below I figured that I'd subscribe just to see if you'd include anymore places where they carry tall clothes . . . . :rolleyes1
We lived on JCP clothes since we are a tall family and they were one of the few stores 'back then and even today' to carry tall clothes.

Just wanted to stick my nose in to say that this is a great trip report!!

I hope the results come back well from the blood work, sending lots of hugs your way!!! (DH's mom had bleeding while she was pregnant with his brother too, so it does happen...how the heck DH knew that I don't know but he remembers and that was over 25 years ago.)

how was Whispering Canyon?? that is on my list for our next trip and I was wondering how your little one liked it???

Definitely go to Tysons Corner Centre (the cheap side, not the one with Gucci, etc) and on the 2nd floor is The Tall Girl Shop. Although their clothing is more expensive than JCP, it is a much better quality. They have both younger styles (missies/juniors) and older styles (mature woman) and everything in between. You just have to look through the store.

This is one store where I, at my "meager" 6 foot am considered short!

Welcome to the report! Yeah, I was up early today b/c I can't sleep...just waiting for the results...

That's right, I never mentioned anything about DD and her night out. So here's an update:

When we got back to the room, thankfully we all napped for a bit and then we got up around 4:45 to get DD ready to go to dinner with my parents.

Once they got to the restaurant, my parents said that DD fell in love with the Lincoln Logs in the lobby! She didn't want to stop playing with them. We don't have them at home so this was brand new to her. Even though she was the youngest one playing, she found room to play her style -- stacking all the green roofs up and making them into a 'choo choo train'!

Unfortunately, they were seated at the very first table in the restaurant so they didn't have much of a view of the restaurant and the games that are played -- and, she could still see the Lincoln Logs that were being played with by other kids -- so why couldn't she play with them too????

My parents said the food was good, not great; DD esp liked the sausage and cheese platter. My dad got the skillet which he enjoyed. But they found the servers WAY, WAY too busy to really interact with them...maybe the servers thought that grandparents and a 2 yr old couldn't enjoy it...I don't know...(SPOILER COMING)I did ask if they asked for ketchup and my mom said, Oh no, we know what happens. BUT, I thought DD would have loved seeing all the ketchup bottles come to the table...I don't know why they didn't do this

Anyway, last time we were there, we had 9 of us and our server did the:
1) HUGE Straw and Cup thing
2) Put us in the Jail
3) "Picked" on one or two people in the party (for fun)
4) Brought out extra (think WAY TOO MANY) utensils, etc

They did let DD do the pony ride around the tables which she enjoyed and she got a certificate in her name.

My parents said they would not go back if it was just them...however, I know based on our last meal with the large group, they were very much looking forward to eating there. So it prob was just an off-night...also my Parents had been eating Disney food for about 11 days now, since they got to WDW before us and they said they were tired of Disney food.

So I say, definitely give it a try and if you end up getting a 'surly' server, just make it your mission, to give him/her a laugh instead! It's normally a "fun" place to eat with good food - better than the buffets (like Chef Mickey's) but not anywhere near the quality of Le Cellier, France, etc.

Bedtime for DD was normal. My mom said that DD fell asleep quickly -- yeah! I was hoping she wouldn't give them a hard time since we weren't there.

Hey Marshay!

The first haircut Mickey ears - were they free or did you have to buy it? Just curious because I have seen others there with the hat. We took DS there, but it was not his first haircut.

I also love all the photos of your DD with the characters. Sooooo CUTE!

With the first haircut, the Minnie/Mickey ears are FREE!!!! One of the really nice things they do...lots of stickers, the certificate and the free ears! I think it cost around $15 for the haircut.

Just got the phone call from the doctor...well, it's both good news and not..

My HCG count went up to 122 (was 111, then 72)...however, the nurse told me that "if she was a betting woman, she would not expect this pregnancy to make it" b/c HCG counts should only rise, never drop...

So.....

I am still waiting on God...and praying for His miracle. I take another blood test tomorrow but we prob won't find out the results until Monday (since my doc ofc is closed on the w/e).

I have been praying for God's peace and for patience and to be able to accept whatever the outcome will be. I was *hoping* that yesterday's test would clearly indicate yea or nea...but that wasn't to be...so I continue to trust in Him.

This not knowing is frustrating...however, I am feeling more at peace knowing that our baby is truly in God's Hands. Please pray for our little baby ...s/he is fighting for its life.

 Marshay!

I'll definetely be saying prayers for you & your little miracle!!:goodvibes

I know this weekend will be hard for you, but know that your friends are praying for you!!

Marshay, I will say a prayer for you and your little one this weekend.

Try and keep busy this weekend to keep your mind off it. Plus, it will help Monday get heree faster, so you can know one way or the other.

I know this weekend will be torture for you but hang in there and know that everyone here is praying for your family and your little baby!!!! God Bless You! :grouphug: :goodvibes

However, let me backtrack -- in the parking lot, I had my 1st WDW DIS Meet. As we were unloading our gear, a woman in the car next to us, says -- I see your green Mickey! Yeah! Her name is Oceania but I haven't met her on the DIS yet. I give her my LGMH (hey, where's mine in return :sad2: ) and see that she has already collected several LGMH on her keychain -- cool!

I saw Oceania last year too! Here's the pic I took of them right before going in Pirates!

Well I'm finally all caught up! I'm so sorry you missed getting a dream by ONE boat! I missed getting the dream fast passes and Mickey Ears twice! Oh well!

Thanks for telling me about the Tall Girl store. Seems like we're the same height! I went there for the first time in June. I got a dress, pair of slacks and a swm suit. I saw other slacks I wanted, but couldn't bare to pay over $70 for them. That may not be alot to some, but I just couldnt.

I'm glad I found your report! I'm looking forward to more!

-GmaX!

Just checking in to see how you are marshay:goodvibes

Many prayers for you and your little one Marshay. While I didn't have a lot of trouble conceiving, I lost my first little one and know that waiting just a day for news can be harrowing. I feel for you and your family.

Hi Marshay, just checking in to say hello and let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers!!!!

Thank you everyone for your kind words...I must admit, I hestitated writing anything about what we are going through...DIS is a place to be happy and cheery and excited about our Disney trips.

But you guys are wonderful! It really is encouraging to know that my DIS family is here for me...even when I don't feel like doing much...I stop in to feel the warmth and love from you.

So thank you very much.

Since I need to distract myself a bit more this weekend, I'll add more to the TR...uploading pictures now.
