Gah, can't sleep. Too excited for tomorrow. Also, is it true that only the castaway club members get lanyards? 'Cause my traveling companion is a first-time cruiser and I want to make sure that she get a lanyard (even if I have to give her mine- but I'd really like one too, if possible).

For all of you who haven't arrived or are arriving today - Good News - It is not raining. Today is the nicest day so far. Woke up to NO Rain. it even looks like it is going to be partaily to mostly sunny for at least part of today.

Checked out the mall yesterday on the way to dinner. One intersting thing was that the high end parts of the mall (Prada and Burberry in Holt Renfrew ) only had chinese shopping. Everyone else was in the lower end stores. Don't know why, may have just been because it was Sunday afternoon.

The Fairmont Vancouver Hotel has a good menu with a $23 three couse meal which was a great bargain, with my wife getting three desserts off of the dessert buffet. Apparently all entrees include the dessert buffet. If you get seated between 430 and 6pm it looks like the entrees are half price.

If you can I the city appears to have wonderful asian restaurants (chinese, thai, korean, etc.). It also has thesereally good food trucks all over downtown. Japadog seems to be a favorite.

Going to eat breakfast now and then we will be off to Stanley Park.

Ahoy there mateys! Today is international "talk like a pirate day". Practice your verbal skills now.

Last night we had the pleasure of walking to Canada Place and saw the Wonder off to the east near some shipyards (someone else reported this). My son was so pleased!

It was a lovely night, had dinner at the Fairmont waterfront seafood buffet, but we also took the chance as the sun was setting and the weather quite mild to walk to the Olympic torches all lit up. What a beautiful sight and something I had never seen in person, despite being a Vancouver native.

So, for all those who are staying in the area and haven't done that...please go tonight if you have a chance. Weather is supposed to be quite lovely today and tomorrow...bodes well for our departure.

ON a not so happy note for those traveling on Air Canada AFTER the trip, please note they may be having a strike starting on the 21st.

We are really getting excited for the trip. We are not doing FE but look forward to meeting everyone.

I can throw my magnet roll in with our stuff. We are leaving about noon today on the train. So excited because we've never ridden the train.

My FE gifts are still in process, but they will give me something to do on the train and by the pool.

We look forward to meeting you all on Tuesday! I'll try to remember to bring the magnet roll to the meeting because we're not sure what room we'll end up in. And if our room does change I'll write it on the FE organizer's door.

I just talked to the CC rep on the phone and she confirmed my fear that my party would only be receiving one silver level lanyard. My friend really was looking forward to getting one and, in truth, so was I. So, if anybody has one they could donate and bring to the meet and greet, I would be forever in your debt.

I love gift stores figure if I do lots before we dock in Victoria I can put it on greyhound, which is behind the Empress and send it home. Then I don't have to buy another suitcase before I get to LA.

I was at the airport yesterday picking up my DS who is staying with DH while I am gone and was checking everyone out - thinking hmmm wonder if they are on the cruise.

We arrived at the downtown Ramada at 1 this morning and immediately fell into bed. The hotel is nice with a full complimentary breakfast with eggs, sausage, bagels, etc. The downside is we're on the 6th floor with a lovely view of the trash-strewn roof of the run-down building across the street.

We're looking forward to boarding tomorrow. I don't know if we'll make it to the meet at the Pan Pacific today, but we'll definitely see everyone tomorrow.

The sun is shining and we are so excited to be packing the car to drive down to Vancouver! On vaction already YAY! We will cross the Lions gate bridge around 2pm and see the Wonder in all her glory waiting for us!!
We'll stay near the airport tonight - so we can pick up our car upon return
I can't believe the time has finally come!!

Never did hear from my boss but took the initiative and left early anyway . Just shutting down the computer and hopefully will make the 3pm ferry. Should get us to our hotel before 6pm. I doubt we'll make tonight's meet and greet but will definitely be at the Promenade lounge tomorrow. Safe travels everyone!

Disfriends - I decided to go on a bicycle ride this morning and had an extremely bad fall which resulted in a severe clavicle fracture and I only received a sling for treatment. going to see an ortho specialist tomorrow. i still plan on going on the trip just going to be in a lot of pain.

OUCH! I hope the specialist can provide a more effective treatment for you...
