Sept 20,2011 Wonder Repositioning Cruise

Last weekend was SOOOOO much better - being at Disneyland the D23 expo. DS has been packing up his room all evening; guess we're leaving about 7:30 am to get him back to school....going to be pretty quiet (and sad) around here....so thankful to have the wkend in the city for the Giants game & this cruise only a few wks away :)

I'm getting my daughter back next week. I missed her very much but dear hubby and I enjoyed our time alone together as well. Hope the transistion goes smoothly for you!

Yesterday was my last day of work. I was fine until I had to say goodbye to my boss...then I blubbered like a baby. I loved my coworkers but I know that without the daily interactions the relationships won't survive outside the office. :sad1:

Oh well.....Onward!!

Thanks Rosie, you would think i'd be used to this (it is his Jr. year) :confused3 but always takes a little while to get used to not having him around.

ohhhhh big hugggggss to you too -:grouphug: i'm sure that was a tough departure....

Love the fact that 3 sats from now - i'll be finishing my "packing" & heading to the train station...but now must finish (or help DS finish) his packing....
have a great day

I need to be done the night before, as we have Supershuttle picking us up at 4 am on Saturday

Thanks Heather, I'm doing OK!

Saw 4 am and I shuddered down to my toes...Disney is THE only thing I'll get up that early for. Almost all my trips to WDW start with a 6 am flight!

Thanks Nate - that worked great - so here's a pic with my hubby from the same event as the other pics i posted...

How did I miss this? Great pic!!! You look beautiful together!

OK, you guys all look so cute and fun in your pictures, so here's Jennifer and Will. The kids look just like us.

ahhh Heather - now you're keeping my kind of hours. What time does train actually leave? 6ish? I imagine it would take about 10-12 hrs to get from SD to SJC...???

We had to get on the Surfliner in San Diego at 6:10 AM to be able to make the 10 AM connection with the Coast Starlight in Los Angeles. We reached San Jose just about Sunset (8:30 PM).

You can follow the trip in the first part of this photo gallery of our trip two years ago:

If you want to see what time the picture was taken, roll your cursor over the large picture and click on the little "i" in the pop-out menu that appears...

You guys will get a kick out of our plane coming back from Seattle in 2009...

The current Starlight schedule says it arrives in San Jose at 8:27 PM and departs at 8:39 PM.

yep that is right and it was the Salinas station that leaves at 6:30 but i'm not keen on going to Salinas when i don't have to....we're between Salinas & SJC - so makes no difference to us really (maybe to hubby who will be driving us up there) but he'll be just fine;)

It seems like our last 3 trips have started at this awful time (although, there are shifts at work that start at 545, so I am up about 430 anyway). Hopefully I can get to sleep the night before, or I will end up sleeping the day away on the train.

Brenda, I see that John has answered all the train questions (which is a good thing, since I am at work - TRYING to wake up).

Yikes, it seems like yesterday I was wishing time would move faster and now I'm thinking 'hey, slow down!'...Hmm...why didn't I get started on stuff back when D-day was waaay far away...I still have a half finished FE hidden in my dresser. I have some t-shirt transfer paper that I was going to make t-shirts for the kids but the printer won't feed the paper so I've said &$&%*(^%%$%. That's a direct quote.

Anyway, loving the photos of everyone! How great to put faces to (user)names :lmao:. I had to go back to last year's Disneyland trip to even find one with all of us in it.

Hmm...DH and I are actually pretty much the same height. I can't remember why I was crouching -- something to do with making DD feel taller or something. It was a bit of toontown silliness of our own :rolleyes1.

We still haven't told the kids. My older DD had a fortune cookie last week that said something wonderful was going to happen so she asked us point blank if we were going to Disneyworld. I was happy that I could answer her in all honesty that we were NOT going to DisneyWORLD :lmao: Fortunately she didn't think to broaden her interrogation! Sadly, they had a double dose of bad news this weekend so we decided to do the big reveal next weekend. Not sure if we'll stick to that as we may be out most of the weekend  but starting to think we'd better do it soon! :dance3:

Yes he did and loved the photos of your last trip up the coast!!!

Nice photo of the 4 of you & of course the "mouse"!!! YIKES - they are too young to get 'double doses' of bad news - so glad the reveal is coming their way - that should really help ease the pain & keep their minds occupied - have fun with that!!!

Not even 9:30 and i've cleaned the mess that DS left in his closet while packing for school & washing all his, ours & the guest room bedding - not sure if the guest room needed it, but figured oh why not - it will be doubly clean for the next guest LOL! and once it's all made back up i can start laying out all my cruise clothes & suitcases

What a beautiful family! I remember so clearly when my girls were that age.

Sorry about their bad news.

John: Loved the photos, you have a great eye. Isn't Oregon beautiful? I'm originally from NYC, living here almost 20 years and I still find it breathtaking.

Rosie...i had "forgotten" you had another daughter - i had to go back thru some of the early pages to see how i missed that....but i hadn't missed it...just tucked it away...she probably won't be joining in any future "Disney" events LOL!!!! My daughter isn't HUGE on Disney - she likes it - she'll even go on occasion, but not at my pace....once every few years is fine with her :(
She & baby Jaxon will be coming on a future cruise with me - just haven't gotten her to 'commit to a date' yet...but he is only 7 months old...so we have time:rotfl:
Speaking of Jaxon...here he is....

OMG Brenda!!! What a cutie! my daughter Zena says Tara and I will take her future kids to Disney for her! :lmao:
