Sept 19th,2004 revisited.....

My my my we have been busy bees today, have we not? I just got in from taking my kids to Karate class. It is only the 2nd time they have been, and so far they seem to really like it.
Oh, I want to reiterate my offer, because I think some, like lilpooter, missed it. If there is anything on the ship that you are regretting not having bought, please let me know and I will be happy to pick it up for you. Just let me know, and I will handle it for you. I have news for you ladies, (no offense meant, but it just seems to be us hardcore ladies left), you all are my buds now! I will be boring you all with pictures from my 11/27 cruise!:earseek: :bored:

OMG I am floored! My Dh came home from work yesterday, opened the twopalms web cam and waited to see the Wonder sail by!!! He is totally missing it just like me!!!! Woooo Hoooo!!! Sean made me do a slide show of all our photos from the trip too! Waaaaaaaaaaaaa I miss the ship so badly! I can't wait until we settle down and get us a new date! DH almost agreed to put the deposit on his credit card! I couldn't believe it, he never wants to do that!

Krystin'smommy! Glad you got your Castaway club cards! Woo hoo!

dzneprincess! :p to you getting to go again soooo soon!!!! I'm SOOOOO jealous!!!!! WAAAAAAAAA!:( Enjoy it lots for me tho!::MickeyMo

Yay but I dont have a nifty CC card like some of you are getting! I am jealous!

Hey you all, did I tell you that I priced the uh 10 day Christmas 2006 sailing?? Uhm drum roll please (notice I said priced and not booked) ..............for 2 cat 10s it was 12,7xx.xx!!!!!!!ALmost 13,000 buckaroos!!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it??????????????????????How do people afford it? THat is a lot of clams for ONE vacation

That would be my dream, christmas and DCL! I would absolutly freak out and pack three months early and drive my DH insane! We have been house hunting all weekend and I am sick of it. Some people really have nerve to ask the prices they ask. If only I could find one or one and a half cat. 1's it would be the perfect home! AAAAHHHHH!!!!! Bills, house hunting, school, work......Disney take me away!!!! I need a cruise, DH needs a cruise, We all need a cruise! Except dzneprincess she's getting hers soon! :teeth:

HOLY MOLY!!!! $13,000 bucks!!!!! Oh that will never happen in this house!! As much as I would love it.... no way! That's A LOT of money!!!

We received our cards as well. ::yes:: I was kinda confused about the benefits/advantages. They need to have deep discount cards for repeat cruise addicts. It would be nice if you could earn a free cruise for every 4 that you paid for or something. They would probably make up their profits in merchandise, etc. Who am I kidding - according to an article I read this past weekend, cruise prices are going through the roof because the demand is so high right now and the number of ships :boat: being built has not increased. So, either we need to tell alot of people that it is not worth going on a cruise ;) or convince DCL to build a few more ships.

I agree, $13K is a lot for a vacation. I think I would rather do Club Med or rent a place on the beach :sunny: for alot less. We will probably try to get on another DCL cruise within the next 2 years, however, we will not book early, but try to be flexible to catch a good bargain. :teacher:

The cruise does seem so long ago, but we have some great memories. It would be nice to escape to the Wonder every month or two. :jumping1: I don't think I could get tire of that ship. :earboy2:

Our friends are going on Carnival out of Jax the week after Christmas (including News Years Eve) and they want us to go, but those holiday weeks are expensive, plus now they don't have a cabin for 4 available. It would certainly be a blast :bounce: since their kids and ours are the same age and get along.

Let's have some fun and have an unofficial survey. :teeth:

Will your next cruise be with DCL or another cruise line? If the answer is not DCL, why? (i.e., price, convenience, itinerary, kid program, etc.)

You all have your homework assignments, so get busy with your replies! :moped:

See - there is more than you hardcore ladies left! :upsidedow

I will be checking in soon.
:space:

good early morning..... we finally got off of our never ending long week. Mickid and Dom are asleep and I cant. Just surfing around the boards. We watched the video of our cruise. We got a few good minutes of Dom doing the "I gotta tee tee" dance. and some of her almost chasing Snow white down the hall after she left the club. I plan on going to the library this week and uploading pics we took.. We miss the cruise too. We have one booked for the 2006 year in May. We are lucky enough to have the California-Florida repo booked. Not for sure if we are gonna be able to get it though. They kinda frown on giving extra weeks off at work. We are gonna try though. If not we are trying to find a place to fit in another short cruise. That is hard with Dom starting "real" school next year. We start so early in the year. The first week of August. We sure cant afford to go in high season.
We are off to WDW Thurs, after Dom gets out of school, to go to the MNSSHP on Fri night. We will be coming back on Sat. So it is just a short visit. But it will get our Disney fix in.
Talk to yall later
Patty

I really wish we lived closer so we could pop into WDW during the holidays. However I spend so much time decorating that house that I really don't need to go anywhere to get in the spirit. I just don't know how some people can afford to spend so much on the holiday cruises. I would love to know what a cat.1 for christmas goes for. I don't know I guess the sun and sand aren't really very christmas-y. But I would go if it were free!:teeth:

taeja71, Thank you so much for the recipe. My mom found grapefruit cake from WDW in a BH&G years and years ago and sent it to me. I love to make cakes and pie, more so now that I have a domed cake plate. Ya gotta love getting wedding gifts you actually asked for! Now I can have all sorts of disney sweets!!!:hyper:

What website address is it? I've got one web cam where there's a side view of the ships, but I can't find a good view of DCL.

Greenacres: As always, I'm procrastinating on my homework assignment. I hope to submit an answer soon.

Amanda01: You mentioned, ..."lived closer so we could pop into WDW during the holidays". I used to live about 30 minutes from DL until I got married 10 yrs. ago. I went there all the time as a kid and also sang in a choir that frequented DL. Now that I am such an addict (living in IN) oh how I wish I were closer! All well....

Are we allowed to ask non cruising questions on the DCL board? I'm looking for a new set of cookware and I would love any suggestions you guys have out there. I prefer non-stick. A friend of mine suggested Revere and another suggested Taste of Home/ Wearever. What do you guys suggest?

We have a set of Emeril Ware and love it! My best friend just bought a set of Cephalon and swears by it.

taeja, do you really think the mods are going to sludge thru 35 pages of posts, to make sure we are discussing DCL? :teeth: Ask away girl! Anyways, I dont cook, so I do not know, sorry! :hyper:

I don't know if you have a costco near you but we got ours there. It's a non-stick made by Kirkland and it has been the best set we have ever used. It comes in a set and it runs about $200 or less. Check the website as well.

Now for my personal question:confused: , When you make an offer on a house do you make it to the real estate agent or to the home owner directly? I feel like a little kid whenever we look at a house. I know that if it were mine I would be asking close to the same but I am the buyer and want a good deal! I really have no idea what I am doing!

:chat:Thanks for the suggestions on the cookware-keep 'em coming! I've been researching and trying to decide what I want. My husband WOULD LOVE A Viking set along with Alton Browns recorded shows. Me, I need some thing reliable, light weight (I have wrist problems), and durable (I tend to let things set too long). ::yes::

Amanda01: Definately go through your realtor. Your realtor is your closest ally. He's the middle man who works for you and tell him your bidding price and see what he/she thinks. Also, look at the closing prices of houses around the house you're looking for. How would your bid compare to the others (too low or high) for the neighborhood? Happy house hunting!

Greenacres: :boat: I would love to cruise w/ DCL again, but the cost is so high. :scared1: Then I think about how many kid oriented things DCL has for them. :cloud9: I'd also like to try RCCL and do more adult things, but with our three little one's all under the age of five they have to be happy too. We won't be able to cruise again for another two, three years, or more at least. Who knows what will happen w/in that amt. of time. I'd also love to take my kids to Hawaii!

Hey, everyone! Sorry I hadn't posted/replied sooner, but, uhhhm, the CAT ATE MY HOMEWORK<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZS' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_1_20.gif' alt='Petting' border=0></a>(don't have a dog!).

If I can convince DH to cruise again I know it won't be DCL:mad: ! I'd like to try RCCL and since we could go out of Galveston (drive a few hours) and save $$$$$ on airfare, that would be the best bet.

TaeJa: I'm with you on Hawaii, girl!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZS' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/5/5_1_101.gif' alt='Hula Dancer' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZS' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15_4_109.gif' alt='Hawaiian' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZS' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_6_13.gif' alt='Tropical Island' border=0></a>I've always said one of my DREAM vacations would be DCL. Well, now that we've done that (although ultimately it's a 7 nighter or longer!), I'll move on to my next one..............Hawaii!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZS' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_8_4v.gif' alt='Dreaming' border=0></a> Airfare would be the biggest expense for us as far as that one goes. My sister-in-law & niece (then 13) went in Feb (my SIL won an ALL EXPENSE PD trip~with spending $$$$, too at her job) and they LOVED it! She said it's really beautiful and all you could imagine. Since they took my digital camera with them, I occasionally relive their trip thru the pictures.

As far as the cookware goes, I'm with dzneprincess: . I'm not very good in kitchen <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZS' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/995v.gif' alt='Chef' border=0></a>. Don't get me wrong, I don't let my family starve, but I'm not good enough~nor do I enjoy it enough~to invest in GOOD cookware. I have heard, though, that cephalon is very good.

By the way, I DID get my CC cards on Monday! We got 4 (one was blank) and then I talked to my sister & she said she got one at her address on Saturday. Guess those are going into the scrapbook,<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZS' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_20_5.gif' alt='Scrapbooking' border=0></a> too (which I STILL haven't started!). My sister said she was going to scan the little folder that they came in & use that as scrapbook pages, too. I don't have a scanner, but thought it was a good idea!

Ok, so I've bored everyone long enough. Got to get ready to take Krystina to a new pizza place that just opened up here. Planet Pizza (anyone heard of it???). It makes me think of Pizza Planet (from Toy Story). It's right next to the movie theater we go to all the time (anyone seen Sharktale?) and she's asks each time about when we can go/ when is it going to open, etc, so I'm surprising her today. Yes, it's the little things. I just love to see the excitement in her eyes whenever she experiences something new. Ok, ok, NOW that's it.

Hi All!

So glad to see everyone still tuning in. FYI, the Travel Channel will be re-airing their Disney Cruise program, tomorrow night at 7pm (Eastern time). Tune in!!

Dzneprincess, thank you so much for the offer to pick up my watch, as we get a little closer I will PM you to get info on where to send the $$.

Greenacres, your question was a toughie. I have been on Carnival and now Disney, guess I would really like to try RCCL. Don't get me wrong, I would do a Disney again, but would like to have a good comparison. Of course JusticeandJordan'smom, Kristi and I have had many conversations about an all-inclusive trip to Jamaica. I have never actually stayed at the islands, have only cruised so it would be something different.

For cookware, personally like Cephalon, but would much rather be back on the Wonder, so they could cook for me!

Talk soon!

Faith

Good evening ya'll. I finally got the cruise pictures uploaded. I did them to Yahoo pictures. I will have to look up the address though. My user name is Ladypoobear_01 so maybe that is helpful. There are 2 albums. One with Cruise photos in them and the other has WDW pics in them.
I am like ya'll too. Rarely do I cook, but we were raised on Revere Ware. One thing I do know , we stay away from Vision Cookware.

taeja71 - the webcam we watched was www.twopalms.com If you watch on Saturday, Sunday or Thursday between 5:20 - 5:45pm you can usually catch a glimpse of the Magic or Wonder sailing by!

Dh is excited that he'll be off to try and catch it tomorrow!! LOL

DH and I have been talking about perhaps going with another cruise line in addition to DCL Everyone seems to like RCCL? How are they on kids programs... since my kiddos didn't do a lot in the kids clubs that is not a major thing if they aren't that great... as we don't do 'alot' except relax and enjoy being together..... I think DH is totally hooked on cruising! LOL

I just went to big lots and got one of their Disney computer prorams. I got the one that is tatoos! LOL

Well I guess that is it from here for now! I gotta reign in my boys... it's getting close to bed time! YEAH! LOL:crazy:

ladypoo! I remember Dom! LOL I got a kick out of her when she was interviewed for the Golden Mickeys, because she said Beyelle (Belle) was one of her favorite princesses! LOL I remember thinking how cute, and I asked my DH if I sounded like that as well! All country like!!!!!!!!!!!!! How cute!

I had to laugh. Only being raised in the South, can you make YES into a 2 syllable word.. just drag the ssss way out. She had a blast.
