Sept 19th,2004 revisited.....

Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I would love to make a gingerbread house. I think I may try it once this term for school is over. Taeja send us some pictures of yours when it's done.

Hi Amanda! We missed you. I've had my eye out for you all over. HOw are you?

Taeja - let me know how the gingerbread house comes out. I also would love to see pictures.

I have made them before and they can be challenging but they are a lot of fun. Don't skimp on the frosting! I went to the Gingerbread house competition once in Asheville, NC and their houses are amazing!

Love the links, makes we want to visit your part of the country. :)
O.k., note to self, no skimping on frosting. I read some where to use little boxes for supports for the walls so that the frosting can dry? How else can I keep the sides standing while they're drying?

ditto

As weird as t sounds, when I did mine, I used pretzel rods that I put from wall to wall in the back like braces and just left them there. My son ate them. I put them going just straight across like an axle and it actually worked. The box thing may be easier though.

I am almost afraid to tell DH that I am going to make a GH. I just know that the engineer in him will take over. I'll end up with a house that has electricity and plumbing! :earboy2:

That would kind of be cool, don't you think? Working lights and a fireplace too?

::yes:: to everything!

It would be cool, but the idea of paying the electric bill on another house scares the poo out of me! :earboy2:

I am spending this cold, rainy weekend packing and cleaning. We leave next Saturday morning for Miami. I can't wait!!!! What have you guys been doing this weekend? Anyone get snow?

3 days until I leave for Miami!, 4 til I leave for my cruise!!!! I'll miss you guys!

Have fun! I am kind of worried about Amanda! I have not seen her around various message boards for a while and I sent her an email which has yet to be responded to. I hope all is well!
