What great pictures! Well the fashion show was pretty cool. Afterwards my BFF and I had makeovers at the Mac counter and I left looking a little trampy. It was fun. I hope eveyone is having a great weekend so far!

Good news, Ladies! DH mentioned he wants to take another cruise!! Well, he didn't say when, but atleast he's considering it now. He did mention Disney, but I'm almost afraid to admit that I tried to talk him out of Disney ! I know, I know, what was I thinking???????????? Well, I'm thinking of cost. The only reason we chose Disney last year is because we really thought Krystina would enjoy the kids club & that would give us a chance to do other things. Well, Krystina DID NOT enjoy the club. If we hadn't taken my sister with us (and taken advantage of the great Florida resident rates!!) we wouldn't of even been able to enjoy our night at Palo. So, I was thinking we could really save some money by taking one out of Galveston. Not only would we save on the cruise rates, we would also save about $800 to $1000 on airfare to Florida. Anyway, we'll see what happens once we actually start planning it.

Yes, I noticed a certain DISer on this thread started a thread inquiring about RCCL. Hmmmm....

If we cruise again after '06 we may consider another cruise line as well. DCL is fun, but I think my kids would enjoy miniature golfing on a cruise ship. I wonder if RCCL has a skeet shoot off the back of the boat. My chances of hitting a target wouldn't be very good, but I'd love it any way!

So, just out of curiosity, does RCCL have a private island?

Leonor, glad to know you are safe and sound. Glad you decided to evacuate any way, better safe than sorry. Whew, I'm relieved to know you are alright.

Jennifer, I love your CC pictures so crisp and clear. The flowers look beautiful and you and your mom look very happy.

Leonor, we did get about 3-4 days of solid rain from Rita! Wow! As for the DCL cruise last year, my DH did not want to go to the kids club either. I was very surprised. Cost was a factor when we booked our next cruise on RCCL. It was almost half price for us! Taeja, they do not have skeet shooting on the ships. At least the Navigator of the Seas did not. The Voyager class ships have ice skating, roller skating, rock climbing, and put put golf. The Freedom has surfing, boogie boarding, pool jousting, syncronized swimming, and a kids H2O zone. They do have their own private islands. @ of them, I believe. One is in Labadee, Hispaniola (Haiti) and is very beautiful. They have a small water park there. The other is Coco Cay in the Bahamas. I don't think either of them can top Castaway Cay, though! That place is HEAVEN! I loved our cruise on the Wonder! I want more but my DH is still resisting. He likes the savings on RCCL and Carnival and the casino and other onboard entertainment options. I won't give up on him though!!!!! I do love RCCL too. I had a great time on their cruise. Their alternative dining resturaunts are comparable to PALO and are pretty much adult only.

As for the DCL cruise last year, my DH did not want to go to the kids club either.

Well, my DH spent most of his time in the BIG KIDS club (ESPN ZONE)! He didn't want to go to the Oceanears Lab, either! Sorry, I just couldn't resist!!

I haven't really looked into exactly which cruiselines use the Galveston port, but I do know that RCCL and Carnival are 2 of them. For some reason, I think of Carnival as more of a party boat (younger crowd) and think we would enjoy RCCL more. I don't know if we'll do a family cruise or just DH & I. For some reason, I don't think DH would want to leave his little behind. Hey, as long as he doesn't leave the queen behind I'll be ok.

It's been a couple of years since I worked in a bank but all it took was one full day to remind me just how nasy, dirty and gross actual money is. I must have washed my hands 20 time today. EEEEEWWWWWWWW! Well I started my classes today and I love them already! I LOVE SCHOOL!!!!

Leonor what cruise line are you and DH looking at? Hey if you can't go DCL at least it's a cruise.

Leonor, I don't know why I keep doing that! Freudian slip, I guess! he he he I liked RCCL better than Carnival, personally. If I can't have DCL, I'll take RCCL. We are also thinking of trying Princess sometime in the future. I would love to do one of the 11 or 12 day DCL cruises but I don't think my DH will go for that. Maybe I can do a girls cruise with my BFF? Ericamanda, I know what you mean about gross money. I work in a police evidence room and you can't imagine where that stuff has been!! Gross!! OH, OH, wait a minute! Am I finally on TOP?????? Yippeeee!

Well I think I am turning my best friend into a Mickey hunter. Last night she called me and told me about the car in front of her and how it's tail lights are hidden mickeys. So I looked it up this morning and low and behold she is right. It's a buick la crosse. The picture is on the far left side in the middle, it's a tail light picture.

Amanda, I couldn't figure out all the steps either. There are several DISers offering to make sparkly siggies for you. Zandy65, iluvcountry, there might be another DISer out there, but I can't remember who. I had iluvcountry make mine.

HOW WAS YOUR CRUISE???? WE WANT TO HEAR ALL ABOUT IT! And no, this is not your mother talking.

Amanda01, I saw the hidden Mickey! You know, my son loves to look for hidden Mickeys. I took him to Target and we saw a small truck. The trucks roof was small and the light's he had above were not straight. Cameron shouted out, look Mom, mickey ears! That's my boy!

I think I'm leaning towards RCCL or I think Norwegian also goes out of Galveston / Houston. I have also seen a couple of Princess cruises out of Galveston too. I'll have to do a little homework and see what the reviews are on all of them & go from there. Guess I would need to see when DH wants to go first.
