Good for you for sticking it out! I brought two magazines with me, but my district was the only one with no line. The other districts had 10-20 people each!

You must have been at the same polls as me. There was no one in front of me.
Can't say that I was diappointed that I didn't get to finish the book I brought.

Hi Jane,

No, I don't know why they do that; perhaps one of the more experienced cruisers could tell us??

I waited over 2 hours in line to vote this am. But I did vote!

Hi Joanne!
I will ask my sister(I think she posted you-Marilyn-also from VA.), when I talk to her later. She might know.
Hope you had a good book!!!! Good for you for sticking it out.

Once DCL reaches a certain percentage of cabins sold in a particular category, they stop assigning cabin numbers and switch to gaurantee or GTY. While there is a chance of random cabin assignments leading up to the cruise, the bulk of the assignments will not be made until about 30 days prior to sailing.

By using GTY instead of actual cabin numbers, DCL leaves themselves room to overbook a few categories. Some people will cancel at the final payment date, but if DCL ends up being oversold that's when free upgrades happen. This does not mean that having GTY status will get you an upgrade, it just leaves the flexibilty open.

Thanks so much for explaining that Monica!
I can't believe that they filled up that quickly. I booked with Disney the first day but I didn't get to it til late afternoon(some days I can't get to what I want to do right away because of our inn...I love it but it sure takes up my time when I usually don't expect it to. I can't complain though - we are so lucky to have it.
....So I will probably be in my category...but I will still hope for an upgrade.
You have a great day and I look forward to meeting you, Jane

Sounds great! I'm in no rush, just wasn't sure if I needed to hurry back and take notes :) I should have known better! :goodvibes

Jennifer, how are the babies doing? One sick baby is bad enough, but two!?! (I have experience w/this, too; my twin girls are 33 now, but I remember ;) )

And for all of you who think you are OCD, see, it's good for something, like keeping us pirates in our proper dining categories! Good job, mateys.

Holy cow, I'm behind. I've been trying to keep up but have 2 sick infants on my hands, and all sorts of other fun drama now

I caught a few things -- we're in Captain's dining. Then there was something about secret mickeys and cabin crawls.... are all these things going to be (or even already on) the website?

Missed you all! :goodvibes

I've heard many stories from my mom about times when both my twin and I were sick at the same time when we were babies. I'm sure she feels your pain! I hope they are feeling better soon! On the same note, my twin has strep throat so I'm hoping she doesn't share it with me!

Hope everyone is feeling better soon. I know once one gets something here it usually does the rounds.

They're ok. Maybe a bit better...? Thanks for asking!

Thanks everyone! Everyone around here seems to have a stomach bug, at least all the kiddos. Nobody I see has had it, but I guess it's just making its rounds through the city. Thankfully it seems to have been short-lived, so hopefully this house won't have it too long, either!

Good morning everyone,

I just finished catching up on posts here. I hope everyone feels better soon.
We have lots of colds and viruses going around here too. Luckily so far only colds have hit home here.

For those who have done a TA before can you give me a heads up on what your weather was like?
I am trying to figure out what clothing to bring and knowing the weather will really help me make my decisions .

Thanks,
kathy

At some point we'll have to compare our spreadsheets and see who's been the most and best OCD! :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Oh no! :scared1: Competition!

Ask anyone from the Sept 27 Double Dip...I could twist and spin statistics like no one's business! You would be surprised at how many fun stats one can come up with! From how many kids of a certain gender and age to how many sets of twins we had to how many people from a particular state, country, or city! I had all I could have thought we wanted! Best part is that we used it all!

::yes::

Loved those stats! :thumbsup2

Since your the Captain do you know if POC at DL will be open in March I thought I read somewhere that it was being refurbrished I hope not   I love POC:love: I have been know to make family and friends stand in line for over an hour just so I can get my fix:)

::yes:: she'll fit right in. :goodvibes

Rocking the boat eh? :rotfl2:

Is there any other way with the Cpt?

Stephanie, I was OCD as usual and kept track of the dining arrangements that everyone was listing as I was catching up on the postings of the past few days, so I just sent you my updated list. So if you posted your captain or crew dining here, you don't need to send it by email - I took care of it already!

Hey, I'm not going to let Laura be the only one who's moving in on the OCD territory! :lmao: You should see my CD's and bookshelves and closets... Okay, not everything is labeled, but close. :thumbsup2

And I'm also EXTREMELY sensitive to smells. I can smell people smoking from 2-3 cars away and I've identified colognes from cars as they've driven past me.

OK - are you my long lost doppleganger? Too funny but admit it - doesn't it make us feel a bit better to know that we are "normal"? ;) I was seriously wondering if I would need to get some medical help for this. Now, thanks to you all, I'm ok - your ok - we're all nuts together!

You sure could. If we ever needed something all we did was ask Kimberly she was our go to girl and we all loved her for it :thumbsup2

All you OCD people pleaseeeee come to my house and help me get organized we have been here a year and there are still boxes up in the loft I haven't even looked in:scared1: :scared1:

Is the Secret Mickey different from the FE gift exchange? We want in on it all! :)

Should I send an e-mail for the SM?

Thanks!

Also DDs set up a kids meet thread for the cruise.

Yep...the SM is different from the FE....You can send myself or Laura an email with all your info. Adults and kids can both take part. I believe all the information is posted on the website now.

Pam - Disney Sweetie - disneyisme2002@yahoo.com
Laura - eeyorelvr10 - lauravell@aol.com

Send your info to one of the above emails and we will get you signed up!

Cool! I can't wait to get home and tell my DDs about this thread. We had a yahoo group for the kids on the WB panama canal cruise and they really liked getting to know other kids before we sailed.

Thanks!:thumbsup2

Just wanted to say hi....I have been sorta following this thread, now that we are booked I will have to read ALL of it (that could take a day or two.)

We are booked on both the EB and WB....but (unless we win the lottery) will only be able to take one. Which one will depend on a few things...what I can get off work, if/when Kellie finds a new job, how DD does in school this year, and how the health of the folks holds up.

I look forward to getting to know all of you and hopefully meeting you.

Welcome Jewel,
I hope you will decide to come along with us. I am new to this group and everyone is really nice and friendly and very helpful in getting me up to speed with lots of fun activities they have planned for us.
You wont regret joining in the fun here.
I am kinda of lurking right now and learning about everyone here. I still manage to post a couple times a day to get aquiainted.
This is a really fun group.

Kathy
