I work nights so I was 2nd in line for voting this morning :thumbsup2

We are considering doing the 7 night Western in early March or late January next year. Have any of you done this cruise? Thoughts on it? I would like to try the 7 day before I do a 14 day... I just can't decide if we want to WDW or Cruise for next year.

Next year as in 2009??? Be sure to check out the details on the $99 cruise. If you take a participating cruise in early 2009 you have the opportunity to take a 3 night cruise from Aug-Dec 2009 for only $99 per person.

Sorry, haven't done any of the DCL caribbean crusies, so I can't help with info on them, just wanted you to know about the special.

Hi Joanne!
I was given a gtd status also...do you know why we haven't gotten a room # yet?
I'm off to vote. My husband just said he only waited 30 minutes in line.
I hope I get so lucky.
I will check back later.
Jane

Hi Jane,

No, I don't know why they do that; perhaps one of the more experienced cruisers could tell us??

I waited over 2 hours in line to vote this am. But I did vote!

Once DCL reaches a certain percentage of cabins sold in a particular category, they stop assigning cabin numbers and switch to gaurantee or GTY. While there is a chance of random cabin assignments leading up to the cruise, the bulk of the assignments will not be made until about 30 days prior to sailing.

By using GTY instead of actual cabin numbers, DCL leaves themselves room to overbook a few categories. Some people will cancel at the final payment date, but if DCL ends up being oversold that's when free upgrades happen. This does not mean that having GTY status will get you an upgrade, it just leaves the flexibilty open.

Woody! Didn't you go on a cruise recently? How was it?
We just got back Saturday from a 7-night Halloween Double Dip on the Magic. We had a great time.

The ship skipped Grand Cayman due to weather. Instead, the next day we went to Key West and the weather was beautiful.

Halloween was a hoot!

Woody

Wow this thread moves fast! It's hard to keep up with it :)

We have Crew's dining.

Would love to be part of the Crawl. We have a cat 7.

Will also like to part of the Secret Mickeys. Will be sending info.

We both voted today and it took less than 10 minutes. Very small township.

Annette :)

Hello WBers! We just changed our ressie from the EB to the WB. We were thinking the kids spring break might have been during the EB but, it doesn't look that way. DH wanted the WB all along so he switched us to this sailing. You all have a very impressive web site! We would like to be part of the FE exchange also. We have main seating for dinner. This will be our 4th DCL cruise and the kids first trip to Europe. We look forward to getting to know you all. We can't wait to spend 14 nights on the Magic!! :yay:

Is there a meet thread for the kids/teens?

Welcome! You will be leaving behind some great folks on the EB, but there are a great (and I think larger) bunch of folks here. :thumbsup2 My friends are still trying to get me to do BOTH since I get five weeks vacation and it certainly would be a very economical 28 days on the Magic. I'll pick up the occasional lottery ticket....just in case. ;)

Hello WBers! We just changed our ressie from the EB to the WB....

Hello, Mary! I love your enthusiasm!! I just have to say that that after looking at the close ages of your kiddos, I don't know where you find that energy!!!

Great to have Just the 8 join us!!

We did a mid-January cruise and it was WONDERFUL!!! It was a great time to cruise. The only cool place was Castaway Cay. It was in the 70's instead of the 80's. We still had a great time. Got to go bike riding.

we can't wait for the Transatlantic . . . longer is definitely better!

Ha Ha Very not funny ....:rolleyes1

Yes there be some traitors who dont like me aboard this trip ...I mean Capt Jack.....:lmao: but Always remember mates , the deepest circle of hell is reserved for betrayers and mutineers.

:welcome:

As the thread for the kids. I do not think there was one started. You could however make one using our website www.transatlanticpirates.com/forum or just one through the DIS. Make sure to sign up our roll call through our website. www.transatlanticpirates.com

I will update the website tomorrow with everyone's dining. If you could email the info though to rollcall@transatlanticpirates.com There is just no way I can go through all of the posts. I am EXHAUSTED from today. I have been working at our local campaign office ALL DAY training poll watchers. I have never talked so much in my life. I only had to do about 100 different training sessions!!!! I am exhausted!!!!

Sorry, you were one step ahead of me! I got your email and I will post all of your info tomorrow!

Stephanie, I was OCD as usual and kept track of the dining arrangements that everyone was listing as I was catching up on the postings of the past few days, so I just sent you my updated list. So if you posted your captain or crew dining here, you don't need to send it by email - I took care of it already!

Hey, I'm not going to let Laura be the only one who's moving in on the OCD territory! :lmao: You should see my CD's and bookshelves and closets... Okay, not everything is labeled, but close. :thumbsup2

And I'm also EXTREMELY sensitive to smells. I can smell people smoking from 2-3 cars away and I've identified colognes from cars as they've driven past me.

WELCOME Mary and family,

This is our first TA cruise too, although we have cruised Disney many times.
You've joined with a great bunch of people here. They have all been very helpful for a newbie to the longer cruises like me.
I am looking forward to getting to know you between now and the cruise,:goodvibes

Good job to those in the US who voted (regardless of your choice of candidate). Its a right that I believe everyone should take advantage of. I think Obama has a hard job ahead of him and I wouldn't want the job.

We have our election here this weekend. I think its a given here as to who will get in and its not our current PM. I'll be sure to vote and make my voice heard.

Hi Mary,
I am so glad that you can join us for this cruise. I was really disappointed that you had to change the date for your cruise on the Wonder this year and I am looking forward to finally getting to meet you.

Corinna

Holy cow, I'm behind. I've been trying to keep up but have 2 sick infants on my hands, and all sorts of other fun drama now

I caught a few things -- we're in Captain's dining. Then there was something about secret mickeys and cabin crawls.... are all these things going to be (or even already on) the website?

Missed you all! :goodvibes

Thank you all for the warm welcome. You guys/gals are great!

Corinna!! We will get to meet afterall :goodvibes How was your Wonder cruise? Ours was "wonderful" of course :lmao: The funny thing is I had changed the date because of that storm in Sept and we ended up with some yucky weather. I had a feeling that might happen. We still had a blast and Atlantis was really a lot of fun.

I will try to get my girls to start a kids/teen thread for us when they get home from school.

Thank you, Monica! I knew one of our gang would know the reason. I certainly won't count on one, but an upgrade would be fine with me. ;)

I'm so jealous of all you voters who pretty much walked in and out. I know I waited over 2 hours and when I left, the line was even longer!

I will be adding everything to the website later today.
