They had a movie they showed one night, Boyz to Men, Jim Brickman (?), and a fabulous stage show and I forget the name of it. I will look in my navigators.

I'd LOVE it if Boyz II Men were on it again. I was a bit of a "groupie" back in the '90s, and saw them in concert 5 times! :woohoo:

It'd be cool to actually get to meet them. I just wonder who will be on our cruise in 2010.

I did turn into a 5 year old when I saw them and got a rose off one of them! They are at EPCOT next week when I go there with DBF but unforunately its while were at Hard Rock so can't go see them

oops! Sorry - we were told we were not allowed to bring alcohol on board from the port, BUT don't listen to me because after that I never tried, obviously other people have. I am speaking about something I don't know - FORGIVE ME!!!!!!!!!:worship:

Here's my funny alcohol story. On the med cruise in 07 we arrived in palermo. I hadn't had time to go to the store in barcelona so after a morning of sightseeing, I deposit my daughter in kids club and took her princess backpack and headed out. Found a liquor store and stocked up on wine, vodka and whisky. Shoved it all in the princess backpack and headed back to the ship. I put it through the xray and they just looked and started laughing as the scan came up. Never seen a kids backpack used that way before. I told them, at least I didn't have my daughter carrying it!:rotfl2:

Needless to say, they had no concern over brining the alcohol on board.

I got a rose from one of them (Michael, when he was still with the group), at one of the concerts. I still have it!! :lovestruc

I've been playing with airfare and my cheapest rate from Toronto always comes up with a transfer in Iceland, LOL

Pj

Hey there we will be flying out of Toronto and booked through Disney the airfare was just under 1000 each for Travel to Barcelonia and from Orlando to Toronto including bus trips from port to Airport.

It's ok Hoagie! I was just wondering if they allowed on board from port, w RCCL they will hold it for you till the last nite- then deliver it to your stateroom. I don't want to drink it-it's for gifts! I drink white-get migraines w the reds.;)

:wave2: All - took a break last night and woke up to another fast-moving thread. :scratchin seems I've been here before.

Anyway, all checked in and see we have a new banner. Before anyone says anything Ct, I wll update my banner this evening Have to decide if I want black or white.

I'll check in later - please try and keep it down to a dull roar please.

:scratchin - Deja Vu? :scratchin

Hi Gang,

I've noticed that some of you are discussing air fares to Europe and going over to Barcelona a few days earlier and checking into hotels and DCL accomocdations vs. finding independent lodging - etc.

I had only been to England before - last year I went by myself to go on the WB TA. I booked late - when DCl put the cruise on sale. So, I researched airfares (Aer Lingus had the best fare) - I flew from SFO to Dublin then onto Paris. Researched lodging in Paris and I stayed 2 days at a hotel near the Lourve (great rate!) - I LOVED Paris - then took the overnight train to Barcelona. Didn't have to book lodging as the Magic didn't leave until the next day. However, a number of Dis'ers had gone straight to Barcelona and booked lodging independently - and got some great deals - someone mentioned renting a small apartment through a website at a great rate!

Anyway - my point is that our cruise is almost 2 years away - there is plenty of time to research both lodging alternatives and travel deals. And there is alot out there.

We are (hopefully) going on the last Med cruise before the Repo - but DH Paul wants to arrive early and stop in England and France on the way to Barcelone. So, I again will get to research "deals" - and there are lots out there!

So do you find it easier to book air, hotel and transfers on your own or through DCL? If we decide to go with booking on our own - I think you're going to be a new best friend!!!!

Ahoy, Mates!

I am beyond thrilled to join the many Sept 27 Double Dip Delighters (DDD) as well as the rest of you on this exciting journey! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my fellow DDDs! We are all so lucky to have them with us here, and selfishly, I cannot wait to see them again!!

There are so many familiar DISboard names I see here, so I'm very excited to get to know and meet you guys, too! It's so exciting to become a part of the DIS TA crew of past and present! :goodvibes

Captain DisneyVegas, over the weekend, I'll get info in for the official roll call as well! :worship: :worship: to you for being our DIS WB TA Captain and web designer! I *know* this is a big role to fill! :thumbsup2 MERCI!!

Brooklyn, great job on the logo banners!

   So excited that you booked!!! This time we're going to spray you down before you get on the ship so you stay healthy!!! I think all the stress from the issues at home prior to the trip (things like no electricity, saying goodbye to $$ of food in your freezer, sleeping one place and trying to make it home for a couple of hours after work each day to do what you could do in the daylight, etc, etc :scared1: ) finally hit you when you relaxed on the ship.

Anything sounds good as long as it's not Darin Romeo. He is a magician (and I use that word very loosely), and a singer (I have to use that word very loosely too). He was on the EB REPO and was absolutely terrible. :scared1:

Sorry if I've offended any Darin Romeo lovers out there!! :rotfl2:

Krista

Oh NO - he was terrible! So much so that I had to email the magician we had on my 1st DCL cruise - Mike Super (who also performed on the WestboundPC) and ask why he left us with 2nd rate entertainment! :rotfl: Apparently he realized that only a very Disney obsessive person would take the time to do that because when he emailed back he told me I should post the story on the DIS. Now why would he assume I'm on the DIS?? :rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I don't even have kids but that story makes me want to get a princess backpack just so I can do it to! :rotfl2:

I dont know the name of the one I got one from but he was wearing sunglasses for the entire show and a red baseball jacket if that helps lol. Couldn't bring it back as restrictions into the country

I am so excited that you are joining us too!!!!!!!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Me too!!!

I'm putting Airborne in your FE the first day! :rotfl2:

I may be crazy to think I can do this, but I think we are going to try and book airfare, hotel and transfers on our own in about a year. I've been googling Barcelona Hotels and there are some nice ones for a lot less money.

I'm not a world traveler, but it just seems like booking this through Disney would cost more than the cruise. :scared1:

Now, my only question is how do you find out the true story behind the different Hotels? Like saftey and sanitation ratings? I looked at the Hilton, but they were only showing 2 people per room and we have 4. I really don't want to get 2 rooms at the prices they were listing.

I love this! I bought some Coffee Rum in Grand Cayman and carried it onboard in a yellow bag. I didn't even think about not being able to bring it onboard. :confused3 Good thing they didn't try and take it from me! :rotfl:

We are booked and I am trying to get our friends to book too, as we talked about going to Spain together! Keep your fingers crossed for us! . . .
Congratulations! Looking forward to cruising with you again.

That is so bad it's almost entertainment. I would probably have a big problem not falling out of a chair from laughing too hard. :lmao: :rotfl2:

You're such a lush!!!!

We just switched our cruise from cash to points!! It was really easy to do esp. since my Dsis did it not me. This is why we bought into DVC :)

Is there a limit to how much liquor you can bring on board? I'm not a lush, but I like my rum & diet coke :drinking1
