The colored cording is what always catches my eyes for spotting fellow DISers. I figure if I am so picky about the name tag part, I can make and bring my own with my design. Anyone else who has a preference can do the same and save Erik the time and effort, also. But I want that colored cord to still be a part of the group.
Just like a pirate, I play outside the rules of society.
I think that is a great idea. I think, largely for simplicity's sake and also so no one will feel left out, Erik will still make name badges for all the lanyards (not that I have asked Erik about this--I am assuming). But, knowing Erik, I cannot imagine that he would be in the least bit bothered if you, or anyone, replaces their badge with something of their own making
I apologize for the way my post concerning the lanyards came across. I in no way intended to minimize the work involved because I know it is very time consuming or offend anyone with my thoughts. I commend anyone willing to take on this challenge. Erik, thank you for your well thought out response and am sorry if I offended you. I did not intend to start anything negative on this thread, I was just giving my thoughts and as I re-read my post, I did it poorly.
I will contribute to the cost of the lanyards and help in any other way possible.

no worries. I am sorry if my post came across as overly upset. My feelings were hurt (yes totally odd because it had nothing to do with me--I certainly do not design the lanyards

no one wants that--trust me), but I really meant it when I said I was sure you did not intend to come across as abrasive. I know how very easy it is to have the wrong tone come across in a quick post. I am thrilled you still want to be a part of the lanyard team, but I do not think any of us would think any less of you if you decided to spend your money on some other project where you get to let your creative juices flow either. Anyway, I think it may be that many of us (you included based on how you took Erik's orginal lanyard description post) may be a bit oversensitive on this thread at the moment based on the actions of one or two and it is spilling over into how we react to others (or maybe that is just me

)
I gave up on finding all the posts I want to reply to (can't do so at work and worked all day yesterday) but here are a couple of other things I wanted to say:
Stephanie (Brooklynn): I LOVE the website and truly appreciate all the hard work and money you have sunk into it. I am actually glad you posted about the cost because I am not so tech savvy and never thought about the cost before--though I reconized it must take tons of time from the get go

so--a giant
THANK YOU to you for that. I also want you to know that I love

the flag design you came up with and the special customized version of it you made me for the signature. I was truly stunned at Todd's outburst about that logo. which brings me to. . .
Todd (DisneyVegas): Thanks for starting this thread and getting the ball rolling. It was nice to have a place to call home as soon as I booked on that very first day the window opened. I am sorry you are annoyed by my signature logo and do not consider it to be the "true" logo. Ironically I only have it because I felt so very pressured from you to put a logo in my signature (something I have always been too lazy to bother with before). I guess I came into the thread thinking it was for and about us all and we could all do what suited ourselves best. This is how it has been on every other thread on the DIS I have been a part of. Anyway, I just want you to know I am not trying to irritate you, I am just trying to be ME (which is not really someone who is a part of your "crew" I guess--but I am a part of this cruise so I think I still have a right to be here, don't you?).
Fuel Surcharges: Thanks everyone for watching out for this. My head is spinning trying to keep up with the issue

Having everyone post what is and is not working for htem and how the information they get as they get it is spo helpful and somethins I just I love about these threads.
Lanyard transport and the cost of living in Europe
Well, let's see if we can get soem paperwork on this possible job for Dave and then I may be able to give a first hand account of the cost of living differences and surely we can figure out how to get the lanyards across the pond if I have an address there

All of your good thoughts and pixie dust have been MUCH appreciated and we are STILL waiting to see any kind of anything about details (you know, silly things like salary), BUT we are told that is very common in international moves and the company is flying all of us to GERMANY to look at apartments and schools next week

Keep the good thoguths comming our way if you can spare any

and I'll keep you all posted (by posting

) if I get any further news.
Have a great day everyone
