Sept 18 2010 WB TransAtlantic Pirates/Capt Jacks Re-Repositioning Repossession Cruise

I will be calling DCL but that's because I have a reservation for 2009 that I will be changing to this cruise. The last 2 repos, I told my TA my preferences (category, room numbers, dinning, etc) and she was able to book exactly what I wanted so it worked out fine. The only problem with this was that she was so busy booking for everyone that I didn't know until later in the afternoon whether or not she was able to get me on the boat.

Based on your statements, I think you'd be best to try to book online, you'll get a little stateboard credit and will be able to take advantage of the 50% off deposit promotion. You could also call at the same time and see which gets through first. Booking for the PC cruises this summer was crazy, the website clogged, people on hold with DCL for 4-5 hours, but those cruises sold out that first day. I do not expect the 2010 cruises to sell out and I do not expect booking to be as crazy, although there will still be long waits.

Don't know about the differences in category costs. I always book a Cat 11 because that's all I can usually swing and I'm fine with it. It would be nice to have a porthole or balcony but it is not neccessary for me.

Oh, we started the thread back when other DISrs first found evidence that DCL was going to Europe. Many of us knew we were going to try for the TA back.

Thank you for your input! I feel so lost, and I hate that feeling considering I never am with WDW! I hadn't even heard of a deposit discount or anything.... I seriously need to try and find time to do research!

We sailed Cat 11 in the past as well and were totally fine with it, but I'm curious how much more then 10 or 9/8 would be, considering the cruise is so long and we'll be twice as many people.

I think I'll try online, and call as well... maybe just with a list of ideal rooms, etc (and a budget! :rolleyes1 :rotfl: ) ahead of time.

AYE Captain......savy now?

I am guessin that you will be able to put the girls in the bottom bunk with pillows on either end since they will be small enough so don't need to worry about pack and plays but as far as the other equipment like strollers I would suggest that you attempt to book either a sideways cat 11 or a cat 10. The cat 10 is a little longer and the set up is the same as the 11s where the bed is at the end of the room instead of the 9-4s with the bed being in the middle of the room so you need to walk around it to get to the bunks/sofa. The girls will only cost you a small amount for port fees and taxes since they will be under 3 years old. :)

Holy cow....I can't believe this cruise isn't even on sale yet and there's already a dozen pages of posts :rotfl2:

Well I'll throw my/our hat in there, as well----even though I don't ahve time to go back and read all the posts yet.

My partner and I will be booking this cruise once bookings open up. This will be our 5th DCL cruise together (my 6th total). We've done a few on the Wonder, we did the Eastbound TransAtlantic repo last year and we just got off the Magic from it's Double Dip cruise this past Saturday. We also have a 4-night on the Wonder next May (taking my parents and my 11-year old niece) already booked. We booked two sets of dummy dates while aboard last week and it's our intention once the bookings open up to switch so we're doing a B2B with the last Med cruise (10-night) and then this Westbound Repo.

Hi all - My family of three willl be booking the July 18th 2010 Med Cruise. We were fortunate to sail on the Magic on the Med in 2006 and had the time of our lives! Many of us are already planning a renunion on board for this one.. I hope the economy takes a turn or else this will be just a dream!!!!!If anyone is unsure, please know what a life changing experience the cruise was for us! Life goes too fast, do all you can do within reason!!! :cool1: :cool1:  :dance3: :yay:

More questions! :teeth:

Will you guys be booking online? Through the 800 number? Via a travel agent?

We are booking via a TA - I don't even know if we can dial the 800 number from here and its a pain with the time difference. I have confidence that the TA will get us what we need :)

We just get the TA to do the booking for the cruise and work out everything else ourselves from this end such as flights, insurance etc - sometimes working with a local TA or sometimes booking stuff online ourselves - depends how complicated it gets.

Can someone show me how to change my signature to the WB repo and the 10 day med before?

Thanks!

Karen

P.S. How many days til this trip?????:woohoo:

Karen ,

you will have to get each banner from each cruise and make it smaller , then host it from a photo host site , then add to your signature line like you got the other one ...

Welcome Hoagie!!! Hoagie is one of our 2007 EB repo buddies and was on the recent Double Dip with us, too----she's good people! ;)

I'm being superstitious and will input the new logo when & if I get confirmation for this cruise. Pam is also planning on going and we hope our own Cpt Jack plans on dressing!

I have been very lucky so far and wish for it to continue.

Cpt, looks like I'm doing the Baltics but I'm not abandoning you - we hope to fly back to bring home the Magic with you all. Steve said go ahead and book it just in case. So, I'm throwing my hat in "UNOFFICIALLY" on this cruise.

:)
