I have made this mistake numerous times already. Sent out tons of e-mails to friends in the hopes of getting some more crazy people to go.

But for now, count me in. I will be going - as to who with - you never know. DH said to take my MIL but :scratchin I don't think that's a good idea - she and I on 14 nights???????? I might kill her, maybe if DD goes too - she'll be buffer. :rotfl2:

Anyway, I look at it this way - :rolleyes1

...... we get the best of both worlds,

Put it all together and its the best of both worlds!
:rolleyes1

:lmao:

Sides, I did some of those Med ports and its an exhausting cruise. Top that off with my Spring Break whirlwind of Europe in '09. I think I can pass that as long as I get to sail with you all again.

I really, really, REALLY want to do a Baltic though - DISNEY - that is so cruel!

:mic: EVERYONE - keep your fingers crossed that the dollar keeps getting stronger. Last year it was about $1.40-$1.45 and now its about $1.30. Not good but better than last year - maybe by the time 2010 rolls around - the dollar will be stronger - we can hope right?

Well after a long talk with Laura....I think this is the cruise I will be doing also. Wanted to do the B2B 10 night before it since I missed out on a med cruise last year, but I dont think I can swing it. So as of now, I will be on this cruise with all of my friends!!! :woohoo:

Well, looks like DH and I are going to book it! We're leaving DS home and heading out on our second Trip of a Lifetime.

Figured I would add the new banner here since this is probably more closer to the cruise thats actually going to happen here

Love them both!

We will be on this cruise! Me, DH, DD (9), DD (5) ad my mom will be going! Tuesday can't come fast enough! I want to book this and move on with the planning!!!

Side note...I do web design for a living and I am happy to make a website for this cruise so we can post info that we can all find easily. Of course we would still use the disboards but just a another means of communication or should I say posting and organizing information.

Unlikely we will be in either - we liked the sound of the Baltic but the prices have put us off at this stage.

A repo is also 95% likely to be a no - I don't think I'll get my hopes up on a 5% chance - we'll see what happens over the next few days when we talk it over though.

A girl can change her mind right? I just emailed Dreams requesting a booking for the Sept 18 repo! :woohoo:

We talked it through over dessert and decided that we will have DVC points to use and Robert we will probably visit relatives in the UK for a few days before hand, maybe Vero Beach when we get to Florida ... bang thats another trip planned :rotfl:

hopefully i'll be on the cruise with you all. My dad and i want to do the Baltic cruise but the cost for it all kind of seems like two much and we love the sea days so this would be a prefect cruise for us:goodvibes

does anyone think this cruise will sell out? or do you think it will be like 2007 were they discounted prices closer to the cruise? j/w it seems like a awesome cruise to go on

WE'RE IN FOR THE REPO!!!!

After all can't have the Captian with free reign of a ship without a villian presence...:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hmmm, I am wondering this too. We don't have anything in with Inventory Control, and I'm thinking at this point, it will be easier if we try to call ourselves rather than have a TA do it. We're hoping for a suite, though not hopeful since we didn't fax IC. Wondering though if most who did plan on a repo were planning on one in August, not September and that lessens the demand?

yeah, I think it might lessen the demand some because some people who want or wanted to go have kids and the older the kids are the more hard to take time off of school. I remember school in 2006 I didn't want to miss any school all middle school and high school just lots of work, I didn't want to make up work because I hated homework:lmao:

I would love to do this repo, but there's just no way I can pull my DS out of school. School starts for us in September and I can't pulling him out of school a week or so after he starts and is just settling in. I'm so bummed about this, I would have loved an August repo.

Wasn't this announced like, yesterday?! And already 20+ pages?! :rotfl:

Quick question -- have you all seen a price on this WB cruise? On mouseplanet, the EB is listed (starting at $999pp), all the specialty cruises are listed (so much more than that), but nothing for WB.... will it be around the same price as EB? More? Less?

DH and I cruised in 2006 and are DYING to get back, but welcomed two little girls this year so we think we might wait a little while, say, maybe 2010? Then lo and behold, repo cruise info comes up, and it sounds PERFECT!

We first considered (and are still considering) EB, because DH will be finishing residency and we know how vacations work. In September 2010, he'll be in private practice and vacations will theoretically be EASIER to schedule, but it's "the unknown".

However, our girls will be 22 months for the EB, and 26 months for WB..... anyone with kids want to take a stab at whether they'd be more fun (as in "so much more fun it's worth it to wait") for the WB?

Thoughts?

Either way, I'm determined that we're going on one that year!

ETA: So I totally jumped the gun. I see from the link in the first page that prices are listed as starting at $999 on the DCL site. I also see that you all started this thread quite a while ago, meaning I'm just behind as usual :rotfl:

Still -- thoughts on the kids' ages?

I have no idea on which age would be best...it really depends on the kids but I had to post and tell you how beautiful your girls are!  Either way you can't really go wrong with no shopping, cleaning or cooking for at least 14 days. :)

OK... it seems like the 2010 Disney schedule is out and it's given many a bit of a tumble more or less... < chuckles>

Looks like about $9k for quad steerage on my groups' likely 1st choice of date : Aug 11th. We'll soon see if everyone is keen on this... likely 11K for cruise (if a quad window ... my preference) + 11K for about a week plus split between pre and post cruise + air fare... in my case a humble bon fire of frequent flyer points for the kids and cash seats for Alicia and I.... so perhaps another $3K there = (gulp) $25K plus or minus 1K.

For that much we could sail the Princess Sapphire 16 weeks + a 4 niter! Of course, that's like comparing a miniture golf park with thier 12' castle to Disneyland and it's castle in some respects.

OK... time to see what my BILs wanna do about this Aug 11th proposal for 2010. I suspect it's 50/50 for us - especially considering the repo dates with BARGAIN $999 steerage rates have sailing dates which STINK given my calandar restrictions.

WAIT A MINUTE... we MIGHT do an EB REPO ... but mostly WITHOUT any of my family group (IE, just Alicia and our kids going)... as our spring break is generally that time of April. So about a week of the total voyage will be normal vacation time for us - and our kids will miss maybe a week or so of school? Missing 2.5 (or more) weeks in September with J in 3rd grade is unacceptable to us. So, Gee ... an EBREPO might possibly WORK FOR US after all? And with bargain $999 steerage rates to boot? This is a possibility IF .... IF the rest of my family group agrees to NOT sail August 11th... and NOT sail an alternate cruise over spring break too.

Hmm... at $999 I could give the kids thier own cabin and have a seperatre cabin Alicia and I... or it would be an easy consideration to do window or verandah?

Good luck to all with these 2010 voyage options! When are they gonna start selling these again???

Thank you! :goodvibes

We definitely agree that you can't go wrong with either... so why am I torturing myself on which to book?! :headache:

There are just so many factors! We were planning on going to WDW Spring 2010 to finish out passes.... I'd likely be giving that up if we did EB. But EB seems (at first glance, I'm totally a novice though!) that flights would be cheaper, according to several Barcelona travel sites, AND I wouldn't need a hotel in Barcelona, whereas I feel like we'd have to come in a day early before debarkation obviously, if flying internationally the day of for the Westbound. It would be so much easier to have a hotel in WDW (DVC and all) before embarkation.

But then, in the grand scheme of things, if we're willing to spend money for this cruise to begin with, does a few hundred dollars make a difference? Aaaaaaaaaaagh :rotfl:

More questions! :teeth:

Will you guys be booking online? Through the 800 number? Via a travel agent?

I always prefer to do my own reservations, but I wasn't sure if this particular cruise would be harder to do....? And I like online booking so you can see the stateroom availability!

Any thoughts on how the prices will vary between categories, from cruise veterans? Does the length of cruise (or fact that it's a specialty cruise) change how the price increases with each category?

Am I overreacting to panic about booking? Ie, will this be like CRT to book, or like any other cruise, or somewhere in between?

(I swear, I will stop asking questions and just do the research myself, once I get through next Tuesday! ;))

I will be calling DCL but that's because I have a reservation for 2009 that I will be changing to this cruise. The last 2 repos, I told my TA my preferences (category, room numbers, dinning, etc) and she was able to book exactly what I wanted so it worked out fine. The only problem with this was that she was so busy booking for everyone that I didn't know until later in the afternoon whether or not she was able to get me on the boat.

Based on your statements, I think you'd be best to try to book online, you'll get a little stateboard credit and will be able to take advantage of the 50% off deposit promotion. You could also call at the same time and see which gets through first. Booking for the PC cruises this summer was crazy, the website clogged, people on hold with DCL for 4-5 hours, but those cruises sold out that first day. I do not expect the 2010 cruises to sell out and I do not expect booking to be as crazy, although there will still be long waits.

Don't know about the differences in category costs. I always book a Cat 11 because that's all I can usually swing and I'm fine with it. It would be nice to have a porthole or balcony but it is not neccessary for me.

Oh, we started the thread back when other DISrs first found evidence that DCL was going to Europe. Many of us knew we were going to try for the TA back.
