We are kind of pushing it with the snow, aren't we? :scared: We have had a few flurries, but so far the passes look like they will be ok if we drive in the afternoon. A bit of ice in the evenings and mornings. It is only about 3 hours to our first stop in Idaho and no mountain passes after that until we get to southern OR after Thanksgiving. We will just have to watch the weather and grab a window of opportunity when we head into CA.

Enjoy dinner! Sounds yummy!

Angie, drive safe we are looking forward to meeting you on the 22nd if all goes well:goodvibes

I'll be in touch about place and time:thumbsup2

Dylans is no frills as well, Manual transmission , manual door locks , also roll down windows , he does have AC and Radio ..LOL But we wanted to make sure he was driving , and not texting on his phone or talking on the phone and driving , hence the reason why its a manual tranny ... Makes him have to think and drive , unlike an auto tanny :thumbsup2 To me an automatic is like being a passenger with a steering wheel :lmao: :lmao:

pirate:

:lmao: Ours is like Dylan's only NO radio! :rotfl: We are getting one at Best Buy on Sunday though!:thumbsup2 Dennis and I were laughing today saying how we REALLY downsized! The good thing is that the car is small enough that we can reach across to unlock the passenger door! :rotfl2:

"Hey Kimberly. I sure hope you do not have need for that updates resume Part of waht ahs been keeping me busy has been helping Dave look into/for work. We came home from the DoubleDip to the news that Dave's plant is closing He is one of the "lucky" ones as he has work up until closing in April. We were pretty distraught (but still booked the TA we figure we have a long time for things to turn around before we have to pay for it) but just this week things are lookin gup (I will say no more now as I am terrified of jinxing things ). I was also busy working on election things for my candidates of choice"

Times are tough here too....DP got layed off last week. They eliminated her entire team. We went ahead a booked the WB, too.....we had to have something to looke forward too...and it is long enough away, we have time to turn things around. Looks like I will be working alot of overtime until then, but will check the thread every day.

 I hope it turns around quickly for you. I am glad we are not hte only crazy ones out there booking cruises when the future is uncertain. You are right that it really does help to have something to look forward to.

:cheer2: :cheer2: Kudos to you for teaching your DS to drive a stick. I prefer a manual transmission (and do drive one) but they are getting harder and harder to find in the U.S.

We are getting ready to head out in the MH. We bought a tow car (Toyota Yaris) and will get the tow gear put on it Monday. Then the plan is to head out for Oregon on Tuesday. We will be in OR and WA until just after Thanksgiving and then will head south with DL our destination before we head east and wind up at WDW at some point. Getting a bit excited now that it is happening! :yay: In the meantime I have managed to tick off several family members from a distance:headache: ....:sad2: Oh well, I cannot control what other people think. DrHug says he still loves me. :)

Your DIS Geek family still loves you, Angie! :) Can't wait to see you when you start heading up the east coast! :cheer2:

Have you thought about putting a satellite radio that can be moved from the car to the mh. I know that best buy carries it.

Amanda

ps I've been reading all of the post but i always forget to post when i get done reading all of the post.

We will have to talk to them about that on Sunday. We already have a radio in the MH, but we will see what they can do for us.

What is your real first name so we know what to call you by?
I am Kathy, nice to meet you.:goodvibes

Hi, I'm Lynn and I'm a Disneyholic :lovestruc

Thanks to all for the warm welcomes! :goodvibes I haven't read back all the posts, as I've missed so much already, but hopefully I'll be able to keep up from now on.

:welcome: Aboard Mate ... Good to see you have already added the cruise logo to your signature line .... Ye be a fine example of a Pirate that follows directions ...LOL :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

pirate:

Why thank you Captain. pirate: I must say the logos for this cruise are very cool! :cool2: I was really thrilled to be able to finally add something - thanks for posting a "how to" or my siggie would still be non-existant!

Welcome! Did we meet on the WB? I'm old,:guilty: forgive me, but I don't remember meeting you.

I don't think so, but we didn't really take part in much of the Dis stuff on the WB PC. What with it being our first cruise and all, it was a bit overwhelming. :guilty:

Ahoy there, me hearties! pirate:

Sorry to interrupt the chat, but I'd like to introduce myself and let you all know that we'll be joining the crew! :yay: It'll be myself (tink, too), my DH and my DD. They'll both be celebrating their birthdays onboard.

Our first cruise ever was the WB PC Repo this past May and we had a fabulous time. Once we found out what DCL's plans were for 2010, our vacation choice really was a no-brainer! :upsidedow

I'll send our details soon so we can be added to the roll call. :hippie:

Welcome! :cool1:

pirate:

Great idea!! Most parents are trying to think about what would make it easier for them to learn to drive and forget that once they are out there, the automatic allows more hands free. I think it's always good to know how to drive a manual.

To everyone going through hard times and looking - my thoughts and prayers are with you! We've got 22 months and I'm sure things will turn around. :thumbsup2

From your lips.....

I've been in tears much of this morning. A local CBS morning news anchor, Heather Pick, passed away yesterday at my age, age 38, of breast cancer. I didn't even watch her that often, but you could tell that she had a wonderful spirit. After watching today's 5am-7am newscast (I had recorded to watch later this morning) that was a tribute and celebration of her, I am just in awe of what a wonderful person...wife, mother, friend, and professional...she really was. Not that you would remember, but she's good friends with Jack Hanna, so he would sometimes let her travel with him to NYC for the David Letterman show. So she would sometimes be seen on camera on Dave's show bringing out animals. Anyways, her passing has really hit me.

I never even knew she had breast cancer until 2 years ago when I had a scare. I saw her story in a brochure at my surgical oncologist's office. One would never had known that she had been going through treatments. What an amazing, selfless person! So I'm going to take this opportunity to remind all you women out there to not overlook exams and be a good friend, mom, sister, and daughter and encourage those loved ones to do this too. A self exam is how I discovered I had a lump. I was very forutunate, and I want the same for all of you!!! :grouphug:

....We came home from the DoubleDip to the news that Dave's plant is closing:sad1: He is one of the "lucky" ones as he has work up until closing in April.....

I'm so sorry to hear that. He's had a few unfortunate blows with work in the past year or so. I really hope things turn for the better soon!

....Kimberly, when you watch the game tomorrow, just wear big slippers and stay warm - that is when football is at its best.....

:thumbsup2 The game just started, and it's wet and chilly out, so I actually am about to cuddle up on my OSU sweatshirt blanket! I can smell lunch cooking in the crockpot....about to have some tea....cuddle on the couch....indeed it's a football afternoon!

Ahoy there, me hearties! pirate:

Lynn, come on aboard! Glad you and your family will be with us!! :goodvibes

I'm so sorry to hear that happened to her. When needed, come over here to escape and keep your spirits up!

How exciting!!! Please have safe travels. Like someone else mentioned, I hope you can avoid lots of snow! Have fun!!!!!!

Wow...what a brilliant idea that I hadn't thought of. I'm certainly passing that idea along to some friends who will have their first of 4 girls driving next year.

Good night everyone,
tomorrow is shopping for cruise items for our 08 cruise:cool1:

catch everyone tomorrow evening,
Kathy

I'm so happy for you getting to cruise this month; wish we could all go!

Kimberly, more hugs to you over on this thread.

Only 2 more sleeps until I got this dumb tooth out!

Welcome Tink,too and crew!

We bought a Yaris in March for DH to drive to work. The payment every month is less than what we are saving in gas by him not taking his truck. His is a stick too(better on gas and DH likes them). It didn't come with a radio but, we had one put in at best buy.

You all have been busy while I have been shopping! :) We got DD #2 a laptop for Christmas at Walmart. It was only $298 ~score!~:thumbsup2 That is the one thing she asked for. We had to get up at 5am to get it but I'm glad that is done. That is the one "big" thing we have to worry about this year. We tend to go WAY overboard on Christmas so we have vowed to down size it this year.:santa:

We got our new WB confirmation from DCL today. :yay: We are saving $160 from what we were going to pay on the EB. Pretty cool. More $$ for FE gifts ;)

Have a nice night all.

Sorry, that wasn't me. I have not ever been to a culinary demo or a TA before.
But I look forward to meeting you.[/QUOTE]
