Now I need to get on line and search for a push em up, hold it in, rearrange 47 years and 8 kids worth of Deanna bathing suit! I'm giddy. Please, someone, sedation!!!

On the cruise, ask me everyday if I've hit the gym yet. That's the ONLY way I'm going to be able to enjoy ordering every dessert on the menu every night. :cool1:

Love your siggie!! Glad you can join us.

Congratulations to all of you who have successfully lost weight. I know how hard it is. Wish I could report the same. Now the dreaded question. Do any of you know if there is a scale on board? I half-way looked in the gym the last time I was there but didn't see one. Should the gym be closed (someone mentioned it might be) other then the deck walk is there somewhere else we can use to workout? I have recorded the sound from my excercise tapes on my ipod. Having done them so many times I don't need to see the video just hear the instructions and music. That way if the gym is closed I'll just do them on my own. Tomorrow I see my real doctor to get the results of my tests. Maybe he'll have the answers as to why I keep gaining weight even though I've done everything they tell me to; added more weights to my workout, increased workout to 2 hours a day, dropped caloric intake to 750 a day and taking medroxprogesterone pills. Oh to be 20 again but have the life experience of being 55. val

I know all of us have had those days where we feel shot down, stepped on and worthless - that is me today! Question for the women - I just got a call from my doctor and was told that I have to come back in next week because they noticed a "density" on my squishy test. What does that mean and has anyone ever had it?????? Why can't the few weeks before the cruise not have any bumps. I know there are quite a few of us asking the same question - Todd, Angie and the list goes on and on.

Know it is hard not to but I don't believe it is time to worry yet. I assume they have a baseline mamograph they are comparing. I am sure you have already looked up the definition of "density" as it relates to a mamogram. So you know it is not associated with malignancy but the "denseness" makes it more difficult to read the mammogram and it is a way for the radiologist to say that the reading may be suboptimal but it can't be helped. They will most likely have you take a ultra-sound and go from there. Meanwhile, have good thoughts. For your mental health, I'd call back and see if you can get this done sooner, offer to come into the radiologists office and wait until they can squeeze you in or if they get a cancellation tell them you want it. I can tell you you have to be politely pushy when it comes to your medical health. If you were the doctor's wife you wouldn't be waiting until next week. val

Sandy, I don't have any experience but wanted to say I'm sorry, : (

About the scale, if there isn't one, I may pack one in hubby's suit case. I'll go insane without one.

The gym may be closed??? Well, I'll bring my ipod and walk deck 4, I guess. There's a lot of stairs, too, and dancing at night. That should help. Man, the one time I plan to use the gym, it's gonna be closed. Puh!

Hmmmm, sorta like Lays potato chips. Can't name just one..

Sue of course Excels at her lists and hospitality
Glenn, superior webmaster
Erik, lanyard central.
Noel, tour guide extraordinare
Connie and Krisann, wristbands anyone?
who is doing the jewelry demo?
all of the tasting coordinators! woo hoo!! drink up ye hearties!

I know as soon as I submit another name will come to me. I'm going to bed...:hippie:

You're right - we owe a lot to a lot of people - including our old Cap'n, DisneyVegas1, and gismo/Sarah. I'd like to find a way to acknowledge our appreciation for all their work! :cheer2: Maybe it should be "Friends of Tinkerbelle", rather than just a singular friend?
I knew it I knew it, I knew it!!!

Thanks for adding them. I think we really need a friends list.

It's Monday morning here again folks....my weigh in day.....

21 lbs lost in 6 weeks!

:cool1::cool1:

....and dh has lost 28 lb in just 7 weeks!:cool1::cool1:

The hard work at the gym is paying off!:woohoo::woohoo:

:littleangel:

That is absolutely fantastic !!! Well done to you both :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I am still the same ... despite trying a lot harder. Slim Fast diet here I come !!!

I really hope the gym isn't closed ... why on earth would they do that ???
We really want to use the gym if we can. I will be really :sad2::sad2: if we can't and DH will be gutted.

I second what Val posted. I have what they call a density in my left breast which has remained the same size since I had my first mammogram at 40. Interestingly, my DD has the same density in the same breast at exactly the same size.

That's amazing! You gotta be kidding!

So happy you liked it! I just love Regensburg. Would love to move back home.

Did you travel all the way to Hungary?

Yes, after spending a few days in Prague, we started the cruise in Regensberg and stopped in Passau, Linz (went to Saltzburg), Durnstein, Vienna, Bratislava and ended in Budapest where we spent a few days. Was a wonderful trip. I would live to explore Bavaria some day soon.

We were booked as a family until we realized that the 3 in high school would just miss too much school--so we cancelled--now we're back on, but just for us parents!!

Welcome! Looking forward to meeting all the DIS veterans.

I only wear a small amount of Shalimar so I hope I do not offend. Shalimar had been my signature fragrance since I was a teenager.

Noel, Shalimar is my sister's fragrance too. Showing my age, but when I was a teenager I like "Charlie."

Interesting. Might be able to use this for social studies for homeschooled son and maybe even for regular schooled son as part of his independent study, if that is what they let him do. The history of how Gibraltar came to be--need to learn more about this.

Here's a great site about Gibralter:

Chocolate Chewies
1 ½ cups walnuts
3 cups powdered sugar
¾ cup cocoa
5 ounces chopped chocolate or chocolate chips
4 egg whites, lightly beaten with a fork

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
2. Toast walnuts, cool, and then chop into small pieces.
3. Combine sugar and cocoa, whisking well to combine. Stir in chocolate and nuts. Add egg whites, and mix well with spoon until combined.
4. Scoop golf ball-size portions of dough and place on parchment-lined baking tray.
5. Bake for 25 minutes until the tops show small cracks.
6. Makes one dozen 3 inch cookies.

Note: I used mini chocolate chips and this worked great. I used my biggest cookie scoop which is about 3 tablespoons and it made 14 cookies.
Sorry to all those who cook in metric terms.

thanks! :thumbsup2

Okay, I never thought I would have to say this but after living in this house for 32 years, there is a Manhunt going on in our neighborhood!!! :scared1:

Thank goodness Hubby is home!!!

Hugs & prayers going out to all of you with health and other problems. The only thing we should be worried about at this time is how to fit everything in to our suitcases. I am usually packed by now, leaving plenty of time to rethink & repack. Not the case this time. It's our 6th Disney cruise & 10th overall... I should be a pro by now but like many of you I just can't seem to get it done. The lists (yes, I'm a list person) are finally coming together. I picked up our Euros at the bank today. Hmmm. Maybe it is all starting to come together. Anyway, after looking at the deck plan on our website I see John & I are surrounded by new friends. That might just be the incentive I need to get busy. Three weeks from today we leave for Barcelona!!

Is that a mammogram (sp) you`ve had. When I had one last year they said - DO NOT be alarmed if called back, as its very common. Still worth a few :wizard::wizard: though.

Summer has finally come to San Francisco and I am so happy. The sun is out for the first time in weeks and weeks. It is 91 degrees on my deck and locals will be enjoying this today, but as Johanna (Renegade) can confirm, if this "heat WAVE" lasts more then a couple of days all the complaining will start (not from me but DH yes).
I haven't gotten my documents yet. They better come soon or I will not be a happy Disney Club member. val

Surely they won`t close the gym??? Heck I`ve just sorted out my gym clothes - no idea how to use the equipment though :confused3

I'll race ya on the Pelican Plunge Corrina! :dance3:
Oh yes, I love yankee candle, haven't heard of Torrid, actually don't remember ever seeing it, will be on the look out! Thanks

Thanks everyone for your pixie dust and well wishes, It amazes me how much love everyone has here. Holly is doing OK, Surgery went well, she is home, dosed up on pain killers and low dose sedative to keep her calm. She won't let me out of her sight, that's OK, I won't let her out of my sight for a while!

Never heard of Ron Jon's, will need to google that one!
Oh yep, Love Sephora, I'm like a kid in a candy store there! :yay:

They have a pretty good website www.torrid.com and a store at the Florida Mall.

We have a pretty formal Christmas Party at work every year with the dress code being Cocktail dress for us girls. When I joined the company, I had hardly any dresses and most certainly nothing that would classify as a cocktail dress. How times change! We went to Florida in November that year and I was determined to find a cocktail dress. I did not have much luck. I have a good friend in Sarasota and she came to see me while I was in Orlando and we went shopping at the Florida Mall. I mentioned to her that I was looking for a cocktail dress. She encouraged me to go into Torrid. I was a bit reluctant, as it looked a bit young for me. However, I did give in and a dress caught my eye straight away. This was the first dress I got from them:

This dress is also from Torrid:

I am glad that Holly is better.

I love Sephora as well. We used to have Sephora in the UK as well, but they closed down a few years ago. I usually stock up on Pink Sugar at Sephora as I cannot get this in the UK.

Ron Jon is a surf shop. They have a big flagship store at Cocoa beach. They also have a store at Festival Bay on International Drive in Orlando. i have bought some water shoes from them in the past and also got my wetsuit from one of their outlet stores in California.

I am just hoping that I have enough space to bring the wetsuit this time round. My shoulders burn very easily and the wetsuit keep them covered. It also gives me just enough buoyancy that I can just float with minimum movement. Sooner or later, I have lots of fish coming to check me out.

They wouldnt be able to keep there hands of mine then:rotfl::rotfl:

They even patted Mum's bottom - she said it was the biggest thrill she'd had in years. It was funny, it wasn't offensive or "dirty", it just seemed like they couldn't resist.

I had the whole day planned out until Ruby Miss Two shoes, bogged off up the forrest, !

Good grief! I'm guessing you didn't know whether to kill her or hug her when you found her!

What is everyone wearing while touring in Barcelona. Usually I wear shorts and tees, but I read that that's a sure sign that you're a tourist and it's not recommended. Any suggestions?

Others have posted some great suggestions but here is what I have noticed with the tourists here when they come off the cruise ships - they stand out a mile! Luckily its very safe here and I've never heard of anyone being pick pocketed or mugged but I can imagine in some places these people would be targets.

1) speaking loudly - New Zealanders tend to be fairly quietly spoken in public places (unless drunk) and nothing screams foreigner like a booming voice with an accent ... duh!
2) dazzling white sneakers - we just don't wear them except for exercise, flip flops or bare feet would be less likely to be noticed
3) couples or families wearing matching t-shirts/tracksuits
4) t-shirts with the place you are visiting all over them
5) loads of flashy gold rings and other jewellery - leave it at home except for the bare minimum

Stay alert and try not to draw undue attention to yourself. Only carry what you can afford to loose, use the hotel safe and never put anything of value into a bag or pocket that is easily accessible.

Thanks for all that helpful advice! Paula and Michelle, the experience of those living far away will be useful as we are relocating (actually returning) soon from the UK to Singapore.
It would be good to meet up and have a discussion before attending a DVC presentation onboard...

Happy to have a chat about it. So who is organising this "meet"? ;)

One thing to keep in mind is that you do have to purchase in the US (not sure if you can elsewhere) but for us, we actually had to be physically in the US to sign the paperwork.

We bought on a cruise. I do not know if the incentives were different than what they were offering on land. We have had amazing vacations that we would never have been able to do without DVC. :dance3: The advice I would offer is "buy where you want to stay" and this might require buying resale. We bought at VWL onboard because that is what they were selling and that is NOT where we like to stay, but when going at busy times or needing more than one villa for family gatherings that require booking at 11 months that is where we have to book and stay.

We bought at SSR as it was all Disney was offering at the time and we couldn't easily do resale at the time. We are happy with it as a home resort and have never had issues "switching" at the 7 month windows but if you travel at a busier time of year this is a major consideration. We are more than happy with SSR as a fall back - its a gorgeous resort and great location next to DTD.

I've had that happen a couple of times; each time I've had to be resquished, but there were no other problems. I believe it'll work out fine. :flower3:

Unintentional? I think not :rotfl::rotfl:.

You've been very fortunate there. I am way too old to get away with their clothes.

Great suggestions, Paula. I think sometimes tourists get so overwhelmed in being in a new and special place that they just don't realize how obvious they are.

Happy to have a chat about it. So who is organising this "meet"? ;)

Good question. Do we even have any time left available???

One thing to keep in mind is that you do have to purchase in the US (not sure if you can elsewhere) but for us, we actually had to be physically in the US to sign the paperwork.

I had no idea. We signed on the ship, but I guess we could since we are U.S. citizens. :confused3

SSR is lovely and its location is terrific. We found it to be a very attractive resort. We own at Animal Kingdom mostly because I love waking up to see the animals outside the window.
