Please wear YOUR favorite team jersey. As Michael noted, most game times are not even posted as yet, and even if they were, we have no way of knowing who will be on the stations we receive on the ship.

Of course, I'm hoping for the Buckeyes, and one thing I have in my favor is that they like to play at noon whenever possible. I think this has to do with the fact that if they play at noon, the tailgate drinking begins at 8am; if they play at 4pm, the tailgate drinking begins at 8am and if they play at 8pm, the tailgate drinking begins at 8am.

Glenn

Sounds like tailgating here in Philly for the Eagles!

I think that means my DH will be starting the day with a Bloody Mary along side his eggs... followed by a Bloody Mary after the eggs, and another mid day by the pool, and them moving to beer as they start to serve lunch items like pizza and wings... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

As for clothing I wish more places would offer tall, plus size things. 32" inseam pants does not qualify as being long.;) They also need to make narrow, large sized shoes and extra-extra long swim suits. I seriously need to create a clothing, swim suit and shoe line as I can rarely find things that fit. Off my soap box now.

I hope you all had a great weekend.

Oh I agree - I have very long but narrow feet (size 11 or 12) and a long torso that makes bathing suit shopping even more painful than it needs to be. As well, I have long legs and arms that makes conventional clothes shopping a pain. I like 3/4 length sleeves for that reason! I used to cry as a teenager when shoe shopping because finding shoes was so difficult. I finally just switched to Doc martens and Birkenstocks for years, until more stores began to carry size 11 shoes. Forget ice skates and ballet shoes!

Tristan turned 11 months yesterday...

They are adorable!

I wanted to post this close to the cruise so many will read it. If you see me and I don't respond to you this is why....please do not take offense,,,

In 2001 I was working in a call center and I started getting migraines a lot. I kept telling everyone I smelled gas. I unfortunately can smell a dirty diaper on a kid quite a distance away. That usually meant I could not pretend not to realize my kids needed changing. :lmao:

So, when no one else could smell the gas, I went to the DR and he had a CAT scan done. I really thought I was going crazy and the migraines were coming on more and more. I also did notice that some other smells were also bothering me. So on a very cold day, some one else finally noticed the gas smell and we called the maintenance guy and he smelled it too. They fixed the unit and I didn't smell it any more. But I was still getting migraines from different smells. I managed to find a little vial of oil called Uh Oh Migraine and I would rub a little of it under my nose, and sometimes it really helps. I also discovered Equal was helping to start migraines so I cut that out.

For the last five years at my last job, if anyone came up to the front desk smelling very strong of cigarette smoke or cologne, I would just have to call my co-worker and she knew why I was calling her because if I didn't it would get so bad I would have to go home. When they did a total remodel of the downstairs, I went home. The smell of the new carpeting, the dust, cleaning solutions, just made me crazy. Same thing happened when part of the upstairs was done. When they would have to daily clean the preschool room, I just made it a point to be in the back of the building or out to lunch so I would not be affected. When walking past anyone smoking, I have to hold my breath or I will start coughing and gagging. Hubby still insists on going outside to smoke his cigars and when he comes back in and wants to talk to me, I have to turn my head so I don't smell the smoke. The worst colognes are Polo, Jean Nate, and patchouli. I literally get sick. So if I greet you and then don't hug you any more after that, it is only because you are wearing something that gets to me and could start a migraine.

Trust me, I don't like this at all, I feel awful when it happens. I remember wearing Jean Nate and would literally douse myself in it. If I offended anyone, I wouldn't know cause I felt I smelled great!!! Now I only use certain Bath & Body products and I mean only a few of them!!!

That's so horrible! I always wear unscented hairspray and antiperspirant and don't wear perfume very often; my oldest DGD7 is also very smell sensitive, but thank heavens they don't give her migraines. Have you ever noticed, though, that whenever a person drowns themselves in a scent, it's always one you can't stand!

This sounds awful and you probably picked the worst cruise you could have done for this. We were on the last cruise before the Magic went into dry dock in 2008. While we were on the ship, they tore up and replaced all the carpets, they varnished a lot of the woodwork and started to paint the public areas. There were always some strong chemical smells around.

Corinna

We were also on that cruise and it was a mess. I hope they don't do the same thing, but they probably will :sad1:.

Now I find that my 13 year old is the greatest cause of my migrains... Especially if he is in a teen ager mood... :(

:rotfl: Oh, the teens! I can't believe we made it through 3 teen girls (all 3 in their teens for 3 years) w/any sanity at all. Best of luck to you :flower3:.

It's been a bad week:

I keep joking that the cruise is going to be so fantastic, and nature likes a balance, so she's just giving us these petty annoyances ahead of time to right the balance for our trip to be totally fabulous!

P&PD that you get balanced out on the cruise!

I am also lucky that red wine does not affect me.

Yay!!!

Hello from the other end of the spectrum. It is getting easier now to find shorter clothes, but when I was younger I could almost wear my pants as pants and shoes, they were so long :rotfl:.

Hello all,

I believe there are quite a few DVC members sailing on this cruise. We have been looking into DVC for quite some time and wondered if from past experience if there were better incentives for buying in to DVC onboard?

We bought ours on board. They were offering reduced prices at the time. I think there's a special promotion right now for a free Disney Dream cruise if you buy (or add on) a minimum number of points. I'll be happy to talk to you about the benefits (and drawbacks) of membership - I believe in full disclosure!

I will totally take you up on that! We have a Westgate TS and would like to sell it as they are no longer working with Disney for the parks. We can do a cruise through them, but not at a great savings. They were in with the park hotels for all of 3 months when we bought, and of course, that was a big deal for us.

So, if the benefits were right and we could sell that, we are interested in the DVC... However, I want the good, the bad and the ugly upfront with this one...

Maybe we could have our own informal DVC information session. I'd be happy to share our experience owning DVC as well. We've been members since 1998.

We bought one of our contracts on the cruise and got a great deal.

Kristi

It might be a good idea to meet so folks who are interested can get the good, the bad, and the ugly. We've only owned for about 3 years now. We did buy on a cruise; the deal seemed very good to us and I have to say we've never ever vacationed as much as we have since we bought DVC (and I LOVE that). Downsides? Of course, but nothing is perfect. Overall, we've definitely enjoyed it.

Sounds good to me!:cool1:

Since we're sharing... I don't just have a problem with smells. I'm highly allergic to the chemicals in a lot of perfumes, colognes, paint thinner and glue. I'm seriously allergic to tobacco, pollen, some dogs and all cats.

I sincerely hope they don't pull the carpet near our room or varnish the wood near me or I will be one very sick puppy. If they do it at night and I'm exposed to the fumes while I'm sleeping, my throat may close up and I might wake up dead. Guess I need to call DCL and remind them.:love::love:

FWIW, DCL has been very responsive to my needs and special services has called me several times. I was going to wait until you guys all fell in love with me before I started listing all my quirks, but since Terry put it out there, I couldn't leave her hanging all alone. We're twins after all. :cloud9::cloud9:

I have even had the sun get to me. It was the way it was shining in my eyes when we were driving down to WV. I finally had to have hubby drive for me.

I should be grateful the migraines don't get to me like they do to my mom. She has had to go to the ER a few times and get a shot and then she would come home and go to bed for two days.

I am also lucky that red wine does not affect me.

Fellow migraine sufferer here! Mine are quite severe and are brought on by weather, hormones, too much sun, red wine, dehydration, lack of sleep, and others I'm not aware of. Luckily no scents so far. I never travel without my RX and a 100 count bottle of excedrin migraine.

Makes me proud that you enjoyed Germany, and you listed lots of places in Bavaria... :thumbsup2 And Austria of course.

I have a tip... Next time you visit, come to see my hometown: REGENSBURG.

We visited Regensberg and loved it! That's where we started our cruise of the Danube (a trip I would definitely recommend).

I have to say though, and Corinna, I think you mentioned this, I am very nervous about being in Barcelona. Just not feeling very safe. Mike and I need to learn not to look like tourists I guess.

We have walked all over Barcelona, including at night, and have never felt "unsafe." Don't carry anything you don't need for that outing. Use the common sense that you would in any large city. It is especially important to be aware in situations where people are pressed close to you--elevators, street crossings, standing in line, etc--and if a stranger engages you in conversation. Enjoy it; it's a beautiful city.

You might be interested in Lane Bryant (check out their website, too). There is an LB outlet at PRIME OUTLETS INTERNATL, 4953 INTERNATIONAL DR 1B12, ORLANDO, FL 32819. They used to be very matronly, but in the past few years they are definitely courting the younger crowd.

I'm also part of the curvalicious crowd; sort of an hourglass. I like Lord & Taylor. Sometimes I find nice things at good prices at Dress Barn--for some reason, I'm one size smaller there :cool1: I know that there are several in the Orlando area.

i hear toyko is nice. i may check it out next year

Spent three days at Tokyo Disney and was one of the most fun Disney experiences EVER. Watching the Country Bears sing in Japanese was worth the trip! The unique Disney Sea Park is beautiful.

Now I find that my 13 year old is the greatest cause of my migrains... Especially if he is in a teen ager mood... :(

OMG migraines are soooo painful! I think mine were related to hormones since it's not much of a problem now that I'm a geezer but I used to get the whole thing--nausea, numbness, photo & auro-phobia. I also noticed that I have to have only small amounts of my big triggers: wine, aged cheese, chocolate. I also try not to drive much at night since the on-coming headlights bother me.

We have been DVC members since 1995. Be happy to give prospective members the pros and cons. We have seen lots of changes in the last 15 years. There are lots of things to consider about your family and vacation habits before you buy.

My favorite combo--peanut butter and chocolate! (Almost worth a migraine JK)

Yes that is so right!!!!! Or it was one that I used to wear and now cannot.

We were also on that cruise and it was a mess. I hope they don't do the same thing, but they probably will :sad1:.

Wonder if I called to question that?? Probably won't do anything, but they will be made aware of my condition or will it cause a problem

I guess I will be on deck a lot of the time unless I am on my veranda.

Before I started having this problem, I would just warn Stephanie if I smelled smoke or other things that I knew would bother her. Who knew I would start having problems myself. :headache:

She was such a sweetie when one time she came over to my house to see all of the things hubby and I had done to our house. Rugs, wood floor, new furniture....you get the idea... Well,,,she had taken her medicine and was only in the house 5 minutes and had to leave cause of our cats. She was sick for a week. One other time I sent her flowers in the cutest statue of Mickey holding onto a glass vase. Well I get a call from her not ten minutes after she got home to come and take the flowers away. I felt so bad!!

I have been impressed that Disney has been in touch with her. That means a lot. :goodvibes

Brethern and Sistern, I have an idea!

Now, don't get frightened. I admit, it's in a strange place, but it's not dangerous, and might even be fun.

I propose that we first nominate, and then vote for a Friend of Tinkerbelle! This would be a person (or potentially a couple) who have spread the most pixie dust among the guests on the Magic before and during the WBTA. There are several candidates from among our number, but first let me explain my thought:

First, think about who has done the most to help you, to help us all, enjoy our cruise. They have spread pixie dust, and therefore are doing what Tink herself does.

Next, watch your fellow travellers - who is helping others? Who is spreading fun and joy? Who has earned our appreciation, our love, our respect?

Then, we need someone who has artistic talent. That wouldn't be me - I can't draw a straight line with a ruler and a pencil! We need someone to design a certificate, or a trophy, or some kind of award. It must feature Tink, and it must be magical. Other than that, anything goes. I will be leaving home soon, but am willing to underwrite ANY (reasonable) cost to produce such an award.:yay:

And, I'll admit, I don't really know how we'll all vote - many of us won't be online on the ship. So I'm open to ideas. Do we convene a meeting to vote? Do we buy Drinks of the Day with different drinks indicating a vote for a specific Friend? I have no clue - I told you my idea was in a strange place! :rotfl2: But this could be fun!

Finally, this must be lighthearted, fun, and a joy to all involved. Those who are nominated must be pleased. Those who nominate must be proud. And everyone should take pleasure in honoring one another - as it says in the Bible. It must not degenerate into vote-grubbing - we get enough of that elsewhere.

Whom would you wish to honor?

I nominate su_kraft :cheer2: :woohoo: as a Friend of Tinkerbelle, for all her tireless work on all of our behalves!

Any other norminations?

See You Real Soon! :flower3:

Could we take this a little further and do nominations like wayyyy back in high school.?????

Most Dramatic

I was looking on the US Postal Service website about shipping to Spain and something caught my eye- you can't ship playing cards to Spain. Weird?!?

I just noticed you also can't ship "Foodstuffs containing saccharine in any amount", so no sweet n low or any food containing it either.

And if you're shipping used clothing, it "must be accompanied by a certificate of disinfection." I've actually shipped clothes home from trips before, so I'm quite glad that I don't live in Spain!

Maybe during the room tour we could set up little jars or bottles with the nominees names and drop pieces of paper in the ones we want to vote for.

I would be glad to help with this.

Ok I was trying to use the mult-quote but have you ever noticed that after 10 pages you have no idea what you where going to say to that quote:confused::confused::confused:

Then I get even more confused when it is a quote in a quote:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

So lets see what I remember. I will understand if some people on this cruise can not stay around us because something we are wearing is sensitive to them. That is so sad to have to deal with this. I get migraines but not that often so I get it. Hugs to you all.

Not sure if we have an Argos football jersey. Yup across the pond there is another league. But our rules our different than the States. Our football field is longer and there is only 3 downs.

I am a roller too but am going to try and do the vacuum bags. ( well the type you roll to get the air out.

Also I put socks in shoes or anything else that will fit in shoes. Will take things in smaller bottles in stead of one large one. More small spaces it can fit in.

Still waiting to here about the sick doggy. Hope the surgery went ok :wizard:

I have finished and labeled my FE gifts. I did most of my first no sew fish extender and it is working out quite well. I found a fabric make up bag that rolls up or you can lay it flat. Used labels and viola it is working :)

Now just the finishing touches.

Now to pop over to the website to see the exciting changes before bed :)

Night all

Hi All
Morrisons, for those who are not familiar is a large UK supermarket chain something like the quality and range of PUBLIX, it's just like any normal UK/US supermarket and all staff speak English.

Thanks for the info - we would have been looking for a Safeway and wondered why we couldn't find it :)

What is everyone doing in St. Maarten?

We are going to walk or water taxi into town and go to the museum and then probably just have a wander around.

Waiting at home for the phone call now....waiting......waiting......waiting.....
She should be home tomorrow morning, $2000 later!

Holy cow! Hope she is ok now, and no doubt will be in less pain than you wallet!

This would be great.

None of the models in the ad need a miraclesuit.
:sad2:
We are off quite soon up to Newcastle to visit Dawn of Bob and Dawn. Bob should have been there and cooking for us, but he found a great excuse in going to the US with work, and making it span out so he couldn't get back in time to see us!!!;):lmao::lmao::lmao: We will also be seeing Jools, their friend, who we have met before, who is also on the cruise but isn't a member here. Friends, food, fun and lots of cruise talk!!!
Hope you had a wonderful day!

Apparently though I didn't eat much till I was about 7 and was a skinny and weak sickly child before then!! I have since made up for it.:lmao:

This was me as well! I remember having to take some awful tasting, black, thick goo if I did not eat properly! Then at age 9 a doctor suggested removing my tonsils so that I would gain weight. :confused3 Yeah, thanks ALOT doc!!! :lmao:

We are home from our 2 day trip to WA state. Dennis is already in bed, still not feeling very well. He is really struggling with his eye sight. This is evidently a rapidly growing cataract and he was trying to read the Sunday comics when we got home and just gave up after struggling with just one strip. He also had me drive the whole trip, which is really unusual. He loves to drive the mountain passes....me not so much! I'm glad he has just another week before he gets it fixed. He also has been struggling with a cold for several days. That's what he gets though for bragging that he has not had a cold in 2 years now! :rolleyes1 Poor guy. He will be all fixed up soon though and will be ready for those sea days! :thumbsup2:goodvibes

I've caught up on all but the last 13 pages....:surfweb::sad2: Of course there will likely be many, many more when I wake up....Good morning, European friends!! :)
