Thank you, Glenn, for adding the following Event to our Website!

For those going, it would be great if you when you sign up if you would state that you will be meeting the group at Praktik Rambla Hotel or if you will try to find us at the Fountain itself. Obviously you can change your mind, but know we will leave the hotel promptly at 20:15 so we can get on our way to secure a great view!

Also, does anyone have a response to my question I have in the copied post below?

Thanks!!!

:car: While in Barcelona Thursday night, several of us are planning to meet at Praktik Rambla Hotel to walk over to the Metro Station or buddy up in taxis to go as a group to the Font Màgica light show.

€ € € Transportation costs are on you! :) € € €

If you would like to join the group (good idea for safety reasons), here are the details:

What: Magic Fountain Light Show; first show at 9:30 pm
When: Thursday, September 16
Time: 20:15 aka 8:15 pm
Gathering Location: Praktik Rambla Hotel located at Rambla de Catalunya, 27

Alternative Gathering Location: If it's more convenient to go directly to the Magic Fountain, you can try to meet us up there. I'll take a purple grape colored umbrella with "safety yellow" ribbons hanging from the top of it and have it held up in hopes you find us. So look for the umbrella held high in the sky.*

*QUESTION: If anyone who's been there before can suggest a general area that we could all meet at for those who will not be gathering at Praktik Ramblas Hotel first, that would be greatly appreciated!

Alternative Date: There are others who are planning to go Friday after the DIS Meets at the Hard Rock Cafe as well, however, they will not be meeting at Praktik Rambla Hotel.

I love the variety of the clothing in thrift stores - often its different from what you'd find in the regular stores and I get bored with my clothing very quickly so don't feel so bad to redonate it once I'm done after even just a few wears.

We have a $2 clothing thrift store here (we call them Op Shops) and I get most of my clothing and shoes there. One of the girls the other week at work said - wow you must have a huge wardrobe...

I do have a slight issue with buying socks as I have 3 drawers of them, I think I have enough socks to last my lifetime... but they are so pretty!:rotfl2:

We definitely donate a lot of stuff to our local Goodwill as well and like Val I get a lot of books there. Last week I found a Haunted Mansion t-shirt that my oldest DD will love. You never know what you'll find.

They took away our local Disney outlet store. Now it's just a regular (read "expensive") Disney retail store. I was very upset w/the change. I got so many great things at the old store. Oh, well, c'est la vie.

Goodness!!! My mom was 5'3", I'm 5'2" and my daughter is 5'1" - we're bucking the trend... :teeth:

That actually makes more sense. But one side of my family is very tall and my mom's dad's side is very short.....there you go, you just don't know how tall your kids will be in our family!:confused3

Glenn, can you also add one for Friday night after HRC? Thanks!

Micki said she would be sending it on Friday but have not had an update as of yet. I will have to send her an email for an update. Thanks for reminding me.
Micki lives in Alabama, another "A" state. I can't wait to see it!!

She thought that she would be sending Beccas stuff on Monday - but she put off on her dresses to get yours done as you "leave before us"... :rotfl: by 1 day... :lmao::lmao: I was going to tell her we practically left at the same time, but I didn't go there... I am still just happy that she could help you out!!

Anyway - hoping that we both have our packages this next week!

I am slowly but surely adding info to my place holders on page one... Sorry to be such a slacker! Life is getting in the way of a really great vacation!!

If you are signed up for FE or tastings - please check out hte lists and PM me if I have you listed wrong.

Also - everyone - please make sure that your cabin is correct on the website so that as we pull lists together we have the correct information!

And my standard reminder... If you haven't posted a picture please send one in so we will recognize our DIS family!! Send them to photos@transatlanticpirates.com. We will format to the right size, so send away!!

Glenn, can you also add one for Friday night after HRC? Thanks!

Hi Michael,

Not a problem. Any special instructions to add? Transportation? Assume meeting place is HRC. Like Buckeye Gal, do you want to add alternate on-site rendezvous location at the fountain? If yes, do you know of one?

Also, do you want me to add the HRC event? It looks like I can import all but
BibbidyBobbidyBoo and adamspest. So you didn't have to do all the updates, we could make it website registration, then you'd only have to pull the guest count a few days early to make the reservation.

Thanks,
Glenn

Glenn,

Can you please share the sorting logic you have applied on the Events page of the website? I thought I had it figured out, but now I don't! :rotfl:

Glenn,

1. Is anyone registered for event? / Sorted by: Yes-No (number of registrations does not matter, simple yes or no)
2. Date / Sorted by: Oldest-Newest
3. Time / Sorted by: Oldest-Newest
4. Event Name / Sorted by: A-Z

The tastings are messing things up a bit as they do not have dates, so they sort at the top.

How do we sign up? I think DH and I would enjoy doing this! Thanks in advance!

That would be great if you and DH join us! You'll make a notation of any of the events you're participating in on our website. Glenn just got this feature up on the website today, so check out his post for instructions!

My son was a CP in spring of 2004 and fall 2004. In fall of 2004 he was friends with Pluto, among others. Eventually he moved to Orlando and has been working at the parks, both full-time, then part-time since May 2005. He's still there today. He loved being a CP and still enjoys working in entertainment.

I truly did love working there and I nearly stayed in Florida. At the time, there were no FT positions available and I couldn't imagine renting an apartment on $6.00 an hour with a PT position. My logical side overruled my heart at the time though.

I was just talking to DH today about my CP. I said to him that we may have never met if I hadn't come home, so things do end up working out very well! :lovestruc

I got the most thoughtful surprise in the mail that I just have to share with you. I know I've mentioned on here how incredibly sweet Tiffany (Gradysmommy who makes FEs for many of you) is and how disappointed I was when they changed their plans to not go with us on this cruise. She contacted me a little over a month ago saying she bought a lot of lanyard pins on Ebay for her kids to exchange during their next WDW adventure in September. In the lot, there was a buckeye nut Mickey Ears pin. She said as soon as she saw it, she knew where to send it. :) She sent me a picture of it, and I was just so excited! I've never seen anything like it before! Wasn't that nice?!!

So a large envelope comes out of my mailbox from her today. Now why in the world would she put this little pin in a large padded envelope? I got inside, opened it up, and literally started crying.

She made me a buckeye pillow case for the cruise for autographs. O.M.G.! :goodvibes What a treasure that is! Little did she know that I still hadn't decided on what I was taking to have autographed, either. I had a difficult day yesterday, and this little "hug" was just what I needed. Soooo sweet and thoughtful that Tiffany is! :lovestruc

Too Cool !

As for next trip, nothing in stone yet, but hoping to go to HI to check out the new DVC resort. There is a chance they may send my cousin (works for Disney Weddings) so would meet up with him. I was excited at first about the Alaska cruises, but will wait to hear the reviews as they are not encompassing all the things I would like to do. I think it is Princess that offers the train as well (that to me is more appealing).

Ok - need to get a move on crossing more things off my list. I ordered a "Bra Stash" today to carry extra $$ and things. Wow that was one of the hardest things to find (had to order online, people in stores were looking at me like I had 2 heads this week). Wish I knew what happened to the ones my mom had as the 2 versions I found online are not the same as what she use to use and see bulkier. I also picked up Rick Steve's book on Rome last night. Thinking of heading back to Border's today to try to pick something up on Barcelona. Also, plan to get more things up to the loft and start really thinking about outfits and packing. I am taking 2 large suitcases and 1 carryon and a backpack (for 28 days). This way I will have room for souvies, as I could get it all in 1 suitcase if I wanted (did it for the Panama Canal), but ended up needing to borrow a suitcase from my cousin to get back to SF after.

I'm with you on alaska. We will only go once, and want to see the most and the best, so I think it would be Princess for us.

What is a Bra Stash? I'm thinking I wouldn't have room for any stash!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I think I wore a 4 when I WAS 4! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: My mom is 5'1" tall and weighed less than 100lb when she got married. I was the tallest girl in my 6th grade class, and fit into her wedding dress then! By the time I finished growing at age 13, I topped her by 8 inches!

I don't think I ever was a size 4!!! Well that is an 8 over here I think, but goodness, I have been tubby all my life apart from when I got married and once when I was ill. I never got below a 12(8 for you) for longer than a couple of weeks. Apparently though I didn't eat much till I was about 7 and was a skinny and weak sickly child before then!! I have since made up for it.:lmao:

John would be happy in flip flops or sandals, a tee shirt and swim shorts for the whole cruise. TWO PAIR!! One to wear, and one to wash!!

A man after my husband's heart!!:rotfl:

I just had a bit of a play around with flights and managed to find flights from Manchester to Orlando on 5th January 2011 and back from Los Angeles to Manchester via London with Virgin Atlantic (I assume the domestic flight is BMI) on 21st January for GBP533 per person. I think this is very fair.

That is a though about the Family Beach being emptier than usual. We normally spend pretty much all of our time at Serenity Bay. I really want to try out Pelican Plunge this time round and wondered how I can fit both this and Serenity Bay in given the short time we have on the island. If Family Beach is not too crowded, then I will just say there.

Corinna

That's a good price. Who is it with with being able to book direct through Heathrow to Manchester? Every time I look that connecting option isn't there.

On the PC cruise the Family Beach was quiet as there weren't many children. We will go there this time I think.

What are we doing wrong, Mandy??? It's rather strange - would you believe Sophie was 9lbs 4oz when she was born...?!!

My babies were average size, but my daughter's 4 and DIL's 2 were big babies. Our daughters 2nd boy was 11lbs, and she is a small 5''1". He is the skinniest 10 year old you could see now. Her twin girls were 7lb 10 and 7lb 8!!!!! Think of that on a 5'1" person!!!:rotfl2:

I hate to say it, but I agree with you in the DCL Alaska cruise. I figure WHEN I get around to doing it, I'll only do it once. So I want more of the experience as well. In addition to what you've mentioned, I understand that they do not have rights to go into the inside passage as much as some of the other cruise lines. My mom wants to do an Alaskan cruise for her retirement hooray, and I told her I want to be on that ship with her! So it's possible I'll get that off my bucket list in the next 4-5 years!

Me too, I answered what I feel above. However I suppose DL might add more to their itineraries as the years go by.

I did later think that perhaps the Hospitality Manager called because someone else had complained about him, but we'll never know. IMO, the bad thing about how strict they are with the CMs is that I personally feel no room to voice a LITTLE concern/request if I had it because the service person could be fired.

I think that is just how I feel. The host, server, whatever would have to be just terrible for me to complain as I would hate for them to lose their job. It does seem far too strict a way to run a workforce. We really should be able to say something isn't quite right without feeling so bad.

We are off quite soon up to Newcastle to visit Dawn of Bob and Dawn. Bob should have been there and cooking for us, but he found a great excuse in going to the US with work, and making it span out so he couldn't get back in time to see us!!!;):lmao::lmao::lmao: We will also be seeing Jools, their friend, who we have met before, who is also on the cruise but isn't a member here. Friends, food, fun and lots of cruise talk!!!
