We've had a fab day. Travelled down to Dover, stopping off in Rye, in Sussex, for a coffee and browse in the shops (lovely little arty shops adn bookshops).

It was a beautiful warm (if windy) day ....so much so that Mark got a little burnt:scared1: and The Magic looked so lovely! I have lots of photos ....for those that aren't on my FB account I shall try and post them on here too.....if I can work out how to do that!:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

We could see people onboard, saw the Quiet Cove cafe, heard the announcements and Mickey doing the countdown.....and of course the horn!:cloud9:

We did notice that during the lifeboat drill, one guy sat resolutely on his balcony with his feet up......he'd obviously left HIS common sense behind!:sad2:

Off to sort out the photos.....

:littleangel:

Stephen

Stephen - paid for three people (MagicMe, TheDisneyGirl02 and DBK1029 - all at the Praktik Rambla).

Champaign Girls - I don't have a pink Tiara - can I just wear my princess one? And I looked for a boa today at WalMart - nothing. Target - nothing. Michaels - $18... so I think I have to pass on that as well... Any other ideas??

Wow - I was just at a Michaels on Thursday and checked out the boas both there and at AC Moore and they were less than $10. I'm going to grab a 40% off coupon and get them there!

Sounds like a great day.

The guy who skipped out on the lifeboat drill will be getting a letter from the officers to his stateroom. In December, my DMIL fell on her way to the DCL bus and got a terrible gash on her forehead. She and DFIL went by ambulance to the ER in Orlando for a head CT and stitches. They made it to the ship with 15 minutes to spare--after the lifeboat drill had taken place. They got "the letter". On the bright side, thanks to the very helpful DCL people at the airport where we were catching the bus, she did make the cruise. One of them arranged a private limo to take them from the hospital to the Magic. As it turned out, we ended up leaving the port late because a passenger who was already on board fell and was very confused and needed to be taken off the ship before we even left :sad2:. So, even though my DMIL had a terrible :headache: and a nasty cut and bruise on her forehead, at least she got to cruise with us!

It was so lovely to see her though Corinna. We've also cruised on the Jade a couple of times and its nothing like the Magic!:rolleyes1

I agree that the Magic and the Jade are not comparable, but I am sure that at some stage we will cruise on the Jade again unless Disney are doing some alternative European cruises. I really want to do an Eastern Med cruise as well at some stage.

I had a look at your photos on Facebook and they look great. In 9 weeks we will be on the Magic. I can't wait.

Corinna

Me Me Me tooooo...I love Pink.............Boas and Champers and all
Please can I join in?
Lyn

I thought I had quoted this previously but then must have ended up accidently deleting it.

We (MagicMe-Melodie and TheDisneyGirl02-Amy) would love to join in the fun!!!

Please?????

Okay - I believe someone had posted about this before but there are way too many posts to try to find it so I'm just going to ask here and hopefully someone will be able to help...

I thought I saw where someone arranged for their transportation from the airport to the hotel and also prepaid. I'd love to get this out of the way so I'm hoping someone can pass on the information. - Thanks!

Yes, I thought he would get a letter too! I'm so glad your DMIL was able to cruise with you and wasn't too badly hurt, what a horrible start to the cruise for her though....:sad2:

I know what you mean Corinna, and I daresay we would do the Jade again too if the price/itinerary was right!:thumbsup2

DH and I are having a lazy day. I'm going to start a packing list on the computer soon - I don't want to forget anything! We're going to his uncle's birthday party later and then home for dinner and to watch True Blood and The Next Food Network Star. I can't believe we're only 2 months away from the cruise!

I LOVE the Next Food Network Star! The 2 girls are my fave - Arti and Aria. Sounds like you are having a great day!

Site doesn't seem to be working for me???

Weather.com changed the radar maps in motion because they're revising their website. I think I've re-located it. See if this works better:

http://www.weather.com/maps/maptype/satelliteworld/europeafricaglobalsatellite_large_animated.html

This shows (I think) where hurricanes come from, and may indicate how the season is progressing.

There's also a very good one from Environment Canada which shows a slightly different view:

Sorry for the mix-up - and I've been away so didn't know it was a problem.

UK ANGEL - Thanks so much for the pictures. Loved them! Cannot wait till people are taking a picture of me on Deck 9!:rotfl:

Not rambling at all Krisann, in fact a lot of help. I have been wondering what to take for cooler weather and the 'just in case' clothes!!! I have loads of normal 'just in case' clothes and things before I even start on the cooler weather stuff!!:lmao:

On our February/March trip to WDW when we were there for 6 weeks(including 1 week's cruise) I wore all my my cooler 'just in case' clothes all the time!!!:sad2: On the cruise week however, it was very cold in the inside corridors and restaurants. I don't know why, but it was quite uncomfortable at times.

Glad it was helpful! I am trying to be realistic about what I am going to take - I will have one pair of regular jeans with me and nobody would realize if I wore those several times on the ship (washed of course) with different tops. I tended to wear the same things more often than not and had to force myself to wear all the clothes I brought.

Pinupdate

We have a few more days to pay the pins before we order them. If you have not paid yet, let me now if you still want the pins you orderd.

Connie

we are still getting 4 - I will be sending you paypal in the next day or two.

On the last couple of cruises we have used the ship laundry service, a bit indulgent, but very efficient and not too expensive. Don't ask for a tariff, I can't remember, but it did not seem bad particularly with onboard credits.

We do the laundry service but this time I am going to be more proactive with it - the charge is per piece so as we take things off that I know we will wear again - I will send it out daily instead of waiting for a bag full!

I am thinking about doing the 2 am laundry night on night 4 - I know I will have laundry then. I will send out more details when I get my cabin number! If anyone else wants to organize wash nights for other nights let me know - I will keep a list of them and submit them for the navigator if there is room!

Krisann
