Thanks for the article link, good to know. You said it very well, you need to use common sense. Having been in the Coast Guard, Bob's pet peeve are the life boat drills. Disney does a good job, they make you attend and do so on deck. Not all cruise lines do and most of us consider them as a royal pain or time to socialize. We've been on cruises where the crew put the shortest person with a voice that couldn't be heard in front of 12 deep to demonstrate and tell you where to go in the event of an problem. It was clear they where just going through the required motions. This was confirmed when Bob expressed his concern to an officer and was told they were meeting the law. He didn't have any further comments when Bob asked him how many people he had pulled from the water after an at sea accident.
My sister, a TA, was on a Princess cruise ship, at night, in Liverpool harbor, with two of my young nieces, when another cruise ship hit hers, putting a large hole in the side of our cabin. The lifeboats on her side where destroyed. No one was hurt and once home my niece thought it was the best part of the trip, but it brought home how important those drills are.
Val

I agreed with everything you said, but I have always been in Animators Palate for the Life Boat Drill and never on deck. Now that is a little scary:scared1:

I'll still wear it....gotta wear it if I pack it, that's the rule!

I'm going to have to try and remember this rule when I pack. I don't think I have ever followed it.

I agree, I always pay attention to stuff like that.
I read the "sully " autobipgraphy, I loved the bit about the guy who was sitting next to the emergency exit, when everybody was cracking up he was quietly reading his emergency leaflet and working out how he was going to open the door(which he did)

He should have read it before the crash! But at least he was calm enough to do it. I always count how many rows there are between me and the exit row and review the card before takeoff on how to open the exits. There is proof that people who are prepared for emergencies respond better to them. That is why schools have fire drills and ships have life boat drills. I'm glad Disney takes theirs seriously.

He had, but I dont blame him for having another read through.:thumbsup2

Im not taking just in case clothes, no room:lmao:

Perhaps we need a list of people with 'just in case' clothes we can go and raid. You know, like the medicine chest!!!

Perhaps that name and number would be helpful to the others arranging tastings, if they don't already have it.

I believe they are already conversing Angie. They had the name some weeks ago. I believe it is, or at least was, on page 1.

Plenty of boozy days ahead it won't matter how rough the seas are!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Pinupdate

We have a few more days to pay the pins before we order them. If you have not paid yet, let me now if you still want the pins you orderd.

Hi everyone :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I am just back from my weekend away. We had a lovely time. Missed being on here though :rolleyes1 Just going to read up on what I have missed ... hope you haven't been too chatty!!! :rotfl:

He can wash and wear Dawn!!!;) Travel in your heavier 'just in case' clothes and carry some things in your onboard bag. Do you have a larger allowance for that? I know some low cost carriers do, though some don't.

On the last couple of cruises we have used the ship laundry service, a bit indulgent, but very efficient and not too expensive. Don't ask for a tariff, I can't remember, but it did not seem bad particularly with onboard credits.

I agree Albert. I thought it wasn't that bad if you get in a bind. I would rather do that then keep waiting for the washer/dryer and ruining my whole day worrying about wash - I do that when I am home and involved in "life" - I only want to be involved in vacation time!!!:rotfl2:

Hi Connie...I just paid for 4 pins. I think I originally only ordered 3 pins, so I hope this is OK. Also, I was not sure of the Dismeet time and location on 9-18 to pick up our pins. We will be on a tour of Barcelona and will not arrive on the ship until around 3:00 p.m. Thanks!!!
