Well, Let me start off by saying, I know I am a Disney snob.
So, we took the kids to Warner Bros Movie World today (we just bought an annual pass to MW, Seaworld and Wet n'Wild waterpark, as we live 20 minutes from all of them). Honestly, I know we have been spoilt by Disney, but seriously....is that the best they can do at Movie World, It was tragic. I might be being a little harsh, but I just couldn't help comparing to Disney, anyway, the kids enjoy the rides, and since it is less than 5 mins from home, it will be easy to pop over for a couple of hours anytime. One positive....Scooby Doo is very cute!

AND I was afraid to do Disney Air and transportation because I can't just take any seat. It takes both my husband and I to walk him through the aisle to get him to the "accessible" WC. Then I hold a blanket to shield my husband helping him because of course they can't both get into most WC's together AND shut the door! It's a real circus!

THIS time I booked business all the way through and yesterday I dealt with the seating thing......we are in ECONOMY CLEAR AT THE BACK ON THE WAY TO NEWARK!!!!! It wouldn't matter except I paid for business! So onto the phone calling today.

Being completely ignorant, sorry, I had never thought of the difficulties people in wheelchairs must have when travelling. I do find it unbelievable that there is not any allowances for people with disabilities on board the planes, Is this all airlines or just some? Your comments have really shocked me!

I hope they sort out your seating issues! That sounds like it is the least they can do...get your booking correct!

Tony and I have just found out that we will be on our own this evening ... both kids staying over with friends .... I am tempted to go out for a meal, but keep trying to put myself off as most meals out involve way too many calories. Should I or shouldn't I :confused3:confused3

Make the most of it whatever you do!
Last time we had no kids for the night, we went to our favourite Thai place for dinner then we were home by 7pm, on the couch, watching the footy, How sad! :rotfl:

Did anyone write down the dining rotations and can let me know what they were .... I realy don't want to have to trawl back through all our posts

I bet Sue has those details :thumbsup2

Well, I will be on my own tonight. ...I will miss him.

You 2 are so sweet, I hope the night goes fast, and remember......absence makes the heart grow fonder.....:goodvibes

that made me laugh! I always have extra room in my suitcase for something like that - who needs a jacket - I can buy one on the ship!

Krisann

Exactly, Gotta get the priorities right! I looked in to the CM program last night, but I have a Mac, so it doesn't look like it's compatible. :sad1:

I will let you now this evening or tomorrow, how to pay and i will take the pins whit me on the Cruiseship.
We must order the pins before 22 July then pins are ready in time.

Connie:cheer2:

I am so glad you did this Connie, Thank-you so much :flower3:

It was me, but my list is at home... I have also tried to true up with concierge - still waiting on a response...

Hahahaha, what did I say, I knew you would have it, Without you we'd all be lost........;)

We have decided to make the most of our kid-free status and are going out to a Thai restaurant. See you all later .....
Oh, Funny, Thai.........make sure you stay out past 7pm! :lmao:

I had my online appointment yesterday for my custom jewellery for the cruise. Unfortunately the webcam did not work, but we discussed it on Google Messenger and she sent me loads of photos along the way. I am so pleased with my jewellery.

The whole set:

Corinna, They look beautiful, How special, having custom designed your own jewellery.(yes we spell jewellery different, also colour, mum.....).:thumbsup2

Sorry if I have missed out something or someone important . Wishing you all a good weekend. Its very hot in the UK at the moment, with temps close to 30 today. I am at a B.bque at my daughters on Sunday. So will have all 3 of my 'big kids' together for a change

Love how you shorten barbeque to B.bque, we do BBQ :)

I forgot who said they can't get too much Disney stuff (I think it was Hayley)...that really stinks! Hopefully you can stock up on the cruise!

I had a dream last night that we were leaving for the cruise and I had forgotten to buy a bunch of things including the journal that I'm planning on keeping. I really need to make a list as to what I need to pack and buy before the cruise! LOL!

It was me, don't worry, we definitely make up for it every time we travel, I don't know how many more Minnie's Bella can fit in her room, she's already reminding me she doesn't have a 'sailor minnie'! :rotfl: And I have to admit, I kinda like her Minnie room too! :thumbsup2

What you haven't packed yet, what have you been doing? I have had big lists, small lists, sub-lists, mini lists, packing lists, to do lists, shopping lists, FE lists, candy/choc swap lists, special things for people lists, tips lists, wish lists, excursions lists, magnet lists, etc......even lists of lists.........Am I a little nutty?

I know what you mean, we went to MW last time we were over and just kept saying "It's just not Disney". We vowed never to go again. Unfortunately we also did the same at Universal CA - it was a good park but we just like Disney.

I do remember when Robert first went to MW, it was his first theme park, he very much enjoyed meeting Cat Woman... nuff said :rotfl2:

But for the kids.. I was thinking of things that would make them get schooling with fun. How about if they talk to someone. They can get a quick lesson in geography.. Like someone from Ny meets someone from VA then they get a post card with the state or city. I know it is more to pack but when the kids go back to school they will have good memories to share. Or we could give out a world map and then put stickers on it. Just ideas anyone with children school age want to do this?

Veeery good idea. Education is ALWAYS good!
Our DS is too little to take part.

But I would be in.

So, if any of the kids has questions about Europe/Germany, they are very welcome to come and talk to me. And ask all their questions.
("No?!? We don't drive on the left side.

So, we took the kids to Warner Bros Movie World today ...

There is one here in Germany as well. We went there several years ago. Right after they opened...
Didn't like either....
But don't know how it is now.

You guys know PLAYMOBIL, right?
It has its origin right here where we live.
And they have several parks to visit...
Looking forward to going there with little DS. I am also considering buying an annual pass as we live right next door.

Yeah, and YOU GUYS should change currency.
smiley3342.gif

Well, not at the moment!!!!!;) But I do thank you and the rest of Europe for changing as it makes like easier for our trips over!!! Once we did about 6 countries in one holiday, and of course needed different currency each time. So much easier now. Though in one sense it is a shame countries have lost that individuality.

I love Playmobil. It wasn't around for our children, but our grandchildren have all had some and loved it. Two of the families have different Advent Calendars and they come out each year. I think they are worth the money and very cute. A park would be fantastic to visit with a little one.

I can remember when my hubby and I went to Ireland twice and we talked with the family we stayed with. My question to her was, "what about people with wheelchairs or with a disability in getting around. Now this was 1998 and 2000. Her reply was that no one cared, You want to get around, do it your self. That stuck with me and I was so surprised. I sure hope things there are better, because everyone should be able to travel with as little restrictions as possible. Disney really needs to step up!!!!

Hi Connie,

I confirmed some time ago that i wanted 2 pins. I am just confirming again now that design 2 has been chosen. Thanks again. Tru

You're on the list on page 80, this was only a little list off people who pm me later. So they now i have got there message.

Connie

Thai meal was lovely ..... as ever, but I feel so bloated this morning ( probably more down to the Chang beer than the food though :rotfl2: ).
We were out until after midnight, as we caught up with some work friends of mine who were out and about.

LISTS .... I really need to sit down and write a proper list of what I still have to do / buy / pack.:eek::eek:

We were also the same with Universal, My girls are currently 7 and 9, they love the big rides, but I found today, and also at Universal that most rides were either too babyish or they weren't tall enough. Lucy wanted to go home and get some high heels :rotfl:

Oh, we did see Catwomen, and I did notice Terry slowed right down, I asked if he wanted a photo, he said no, but I wasn't convinced, maybe he wanted more than a photo ................Too sexy for Disney!

Playmobil is similar to Lego right? My girls never got into it. But it sounds fun, I wonder if it's like Legoland? :goodvibes

Well said! I think Connie's and Ruth's comments will stick with me, It made me feel very uneasy that nobody is making allowances for people in wheelchairs to travel! It really is very unfair and ignorant, they should be ashamed of themselves, both Disney and the airlines, and whoever else.....:sad2::sad2::sad2:

"No?!? We don't drive on the left side.

You should, it would make it easier for us Brits!!!!;):lmao:

We do, we do.......not that it matters, I don't think anyone from another country will be driving their car into our country, unless they have a James Bond car that can swim.....:lmao:

We finally reached another milestone .......

WE HAVE ONLY 10 WEEKS TO GO UNTIL WE ARE ON THE DISNEY MAGIC !!!

Now it's time to get REALLY excited !!!!!!

PinUpdate!!!!

We have reached 100 pins so we can order the pins.
In order to have our pins on time for our Transantlantic Cruise, we must order the pins by Jul 22.

The pins cost 4,50 Euro each. You can pay the money for the pins on Noel's paypal or on Patrick's paypal account.

Since the cost for people who live in America is less if you pay on Noel account, you may choose to pay through her. Then, she will send the money to Patrick's account.

If you are going to pay Noel, you must first determine how much the dollar is versus the Euro. In order to determine how much 4.5 Euros, you must first attempt to make order of 4.5 Euros to determine how much to pay Noel. Do not complete this order. You are only using this method to determine how much the actual dollar cost is pay in Euros. Then you can pay Noel the actual dollar amount which she will transfer to Patrick in Euros in your name.

As with the Euros transfer, please use a Personal transfer and say it is a gift to avoid fees to be charged to the recipient.

Noel's paypalaccount is birkner@needinfo.com

Patrick's paypalaccount is p.vanmaaren@chello.nl

Please send your money to one of us with your both your DIS name and your email address before 21 July so we can order the pins on time and in the numbers of pins we want.

If all the money is received before that time, we will not be able to order the pins at that price, so it is critical that all the money be collected before that time.

Connie will take the pins with her on the Cruise and hand them out on the first Dismeet or if you are not going to the meet, she can arrange to meet you in the boarding area in Barcelona.

Noel and Connie

I will send this also to you're PMbox.

You are a funny girl!!:lmao::rotfl2: Actually I did pack a shirt he had worn in my luggage when I traveled for work and slept with that by my nose. The smell of his cologne helped me get to sleep. Silly, but whatever works.... But since I am the one at home I think we can make it through one evening and night! :rotfl:

I do that too if Mark ever has to be away (not often as I go with him usually), I sleep with his t shirt because it smells of him. :lovestruc It may be silly to some but we know it works eh?

Hi everyone
Ive been trying all week to get to the end of this thread -- and tonight finally made it.
I really enjoy reading all your posts, Carl says I sit here pulling all sorts of faces - smiling, frowning and generally
telling him stuff, every now and then :goodvibes.

Ok then there are too many thing to multiquote, (I gave up that idea 30 pages ago !!).

So firstly I would like to thank 'Sarah for the navigator its fab an:cool1:d has sooo much information inside.

Tig82174 Thanks for all your hard work on making the Lanyards. I am looking forward to seeing them.

Terrapin' your baby grandson is adorable. A lovely name too. I have 1 gs and he is called Jacob too.

'Marilyn' I was laughin earlier about your packing and how many suitcases John was allowed. I have the
problem that Carl doesnt mind how much I take, because he would take most of his wardrobe if he was allowed :rotfl:.

'Angel' hope your B.bque/Dis meet goes well.

I am loving all the photos of dresses for formal nights. I love shopping, we went last week and also had a day
out again this week. So have got some lovely new clothes for the cruise. :cool1:

:welcome: to all the new people who have signed on, how lucky you are to have a small countdown.

Sorry if I have missed out something or someone important . Wishing you all a good weekend. Its very hot in the UK at the moment, with temps close to 30 today. I am at a B.bque at my daughters on Sunday. So will have all 3 of my 'big kids' together for a change

Hi Jan! Hope you enjoy having all your 'big babies' together tomorrow, I know my Mum loves it when we all get together :)

The pins cost 4,50 Euro each. You can pay the money for the pins on Noel's paypal or on Patrick's paypal account.

Hi Connie and Noel, I have paid via paypal to Patrick in Euro's. I sent the money as a gift and ticked the box to say I will cover any extra charges. Please let me know if there is any problems. Thanks! Hayley x

I did put mine on my payment didn't I? I know I deleted some words and added others, so hopefully I didn't delete my Dis name!!

Please pay quickly everyone, to help Connie in all this. If no way is found to not have to pay the fees, make sure you pay the fee(there is a box to tick) and not the person you are sending the Paypal money to so they aren't landed with a big extra amount to find. It isn't much at all for 1 transaction, and seeing as the pins are such good value anyway....!!!
