Okay, I did it - I called Delta and acted like I lost my flight. They filled me in. We are on Flight 114 from Atlanta on the 17th. We leave at 5:55 and get in at 8:55. I am on hold now because they told me there is a "problem" with my reservation. My heart is beating out of control.

Ahhh!!! I am soooo excited. They were just worried that a ticket had not been issued yet - so no big deal. Abby and I are even sitting together and the airlines said that when I check my bags in Orlando, I will not see them until Barcelona! YEAH! I don't need to worry about it. Yes, I am a worry wart and you all know I hate to fly. My night is made! Thanks to whoever made the recommendation to call Delta!:worship::worship::worship::worship:

So, we are on the same ATL to BCN flight. How long is your layover? Ours is 3 hours 45 minutes. Enough for some schoolwork to be done. What seats do you have? I'm glad they put you together, not in four separate rows like our family.

cali cruiser - We are also on the 5:55 Tuesday night to Barcelona.

Rene

Hi Rene...This sounds like a popular flight. I was hoping that it wouldn't be so crowded, but I looked at the website and there are only 8 available seats left on the plane and we still have 60 days til we leave. We are in rows 31 and 32. That would be fun if we can meet before we get on the plane. My husband and I are traveling w/ our dd (8), our ds (12) and my mom (who I think DCL thought was the kids nanny because she has a different last name and on every leg of our flight they put my husband and I together and the kids separate w/ grandma in between either behind us or next to us).

We finally got our flight information yesterday. We are on the same flight as you only on Monday afternoon and arriving in Barcelona on Tuesday. We fly out of Orlando on Monday at 2:30 and layover in Atlanta and then we fly out of Atlanta at 5:55 and arrive in BCN at 8:55 then next morning. That's good news for us and bad news....we were hoping to fly out later on Monday so we'd have more time in Orlando to hang by the pool...but we'll survive. It's good, though, that we have no European layover so we're 90% certain luggage won't be a problem. Jason packed our rolling carry-on (like a pilot size rolling suitcase that fits overhead on most planes) and it holds all the lanyards AND has room for some clothes or whatever else we may need to bring. It's also good because we arrive very early in Barcelona so we'll have a full day there which will be nice (although heaven only knows if we won't be sleeping off jetlag...depends how much sleep I can get on the plane)

I am glad to hear that you got your flight info! I guess you'll have to spend more time by the pool on the ship to make up for your Orlanda pool time. We were hoping to go through JFK as that flight gets in an hour earlier and we plan to do a "quick" 4 hr tour of Barcelona through Barcelona Day Tours before we get on the ship. I know it is crazy with jet lag and all, but I'm hoping to give everyone Melatonin or something to sleep and we ordered the "1st class sleepers" (its like a coushion that you put behing your back/head that was designed by a pilot to help you sleep better on a plane) I think Noel mentioned them a few weeks ago. Your rolling carry on sounds perfect. Thaks again for all of your (and Jason's) work with the lanyards!!!

Same reason they drive around smashing mailboxes with baseball bats....some people just should not breed!
:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::lmao: You're absolutely right

Did anyone write down the dining rotations and can let me know what they were .... I realy don't want to have to trawl back through all our posts :eek:
I'm not sure what you mean by rotations, but if you are talking about the tentative formal/semi formal/pirate days then just download the navigator that Gismo-Sarah made... navigator
just log in with a Google account, if you don't have one create one.

Desgin 2
Cruise Pin 2 without Mickey and he added pirates on both sides.

I really loved the first design, but looks like the majority prefers the second one. I like this, too.

[/QUOTE]

Well let's get both:confused3

Next week we are going to Mansfield to meet up with a group of DIS friends ..... I love meeting up with my DIS friends because you can just waffle on and on about Disney and nobody minds a bit .... now if I do this with work colleagues / other friends they think I am crazy :confused3

Hope you have a great DIS BBQ.

Tony and I have just found out that we will be on our own this evening ... both kids staying over with friends .... I am tempted to go out for a meal, but keep trying to put myself off as most meals out involve way too many calories. Should I or shouldn't I :confused3:confused3

Hope everyone has a great weekend and don't forget .... what will we all be doing 10 weeks tomorrow :woohoo::woohoo:

Thanks Sarah! Hope you have a good time too :cool1:

Oh that sounds perfect!! Have a great day tomorrow!

Thank you, I'm sure we will!:thumbsup2

Well, I will be on my own tonight. :scared: I have been struggling trying to get CPAP supplies for Dennis. Long story, original sleep center no longer has records (more than 10 years old), the place we were getting them can't send them now because we moved, new place can't send them without a prescription. On and on...he now gets his medical care from the VA, they can't supply without a study. His mask is in really bad shape....so, I called the VA this morning to see when they can get him in for a study and WHOA!! they had a cancellation and he can go tonight. :cheer2: And they will send him home with a new mask! :cool1:But, that leaves me here without him. :sad2: The VA hospital is 125 miles away so he will be gone from 6 tonight until 8 tomorrow morning. Probably doesn't sound bad to many, but we are "joined at the hip" and have not been apart for more than an hour or two at a time since we retired 2 years ago.....I will miss him. :sad1:

Glad Dennis could get a quick appointment Angie, but I so understand about wanting to spend all your time together. Mark's been home today and its been so lovely. We would spend every minute together if we could :lovestruc

Hope you have a fab day!

cheers!:cool1:

not so much fun as it might be without a fractured hand and a splint on :rotfl2:

:rotfl::rotfl:

As I was laying on the couch, reading all the pages tonight, laughing, smiling, and talking to myself, my husband is convinced that after this cruise I will need therarpy because I will not have my "dis" friends. Has anyone thought of the impact Oct. 3rd is going to have????:sad2: I think I might need an intervention or something!!!! I have missed you all!

We had quite a tight-knit group for our Western Caribbean cruise last year. A lot of them rebooked for a cruise next year while we were on the Magic and I booked this cruise at a later stage. Some people had jumped ship for the Dream, but they have now returned to the original cruise. So we are just starting up again where we had broken off.

Are folks talking about dressing up in villain costumes? or just doing the masquerade part like making/buying/bringing masks?

Does anyone know....is Villains night a formal night? (I might have missed that answer somewhere else.)

I am giving serious thought to making Villain themed vests for Jason and I if it's a formal night....and then maybe making and bringing some fancy masquerade masks for us, as well....but I doubt we can bring costumes...there's just not enough room in our bags!! :lmao:

I am not doing a costume, but I will dress in purple and black, which are kind of Villains colours for me. On the Med cruise, the Villains night was a cruise casual night.

My family will be joining this big DIS group for the WBTA. Joining in late (just got home from Baltic which was wonderful)

Me, dh, dd16, dd14, dd9, dd7 and ds7.

We did the EBTA and Med btb in April, loved it and are repeating it with the last med and WBTA back to back.

Kind of late in the planning but hoping to meet some new DIS friends and see some familiar faces again.

:welcome: on board. The name looked familiar, but it took me a while to realize why. We were on the first Med cruise, too. I so wish I could do this again. We had such a wonderful time.

What is your (and people in your family's) favorite Disney Movie - both classic and "newer" (like toy story, Cars, etc.)

Classic - The Fox and the Hound, New - Bolt or The Ice Princess

We are finally organized now we have flights to Barcelona booked, hotel booked (novotel city), BLT for afterwards (although in all fairness that was booked at the 11mth window) and flights from NYC to Dubai.

and i think i even have the fish extender gifts, chocolate swap and sectret mickey almost organized (not done just organized...) :cheer2:

We are also staying at BLT after the cruise.

I had my online appointment yesterday for my custom jewellery for the cruise. Unfortunately the webcam did not work, but we discussed it on Google Messenger and she sent me loads of photos along the way. I am so pleased with my jewellery.

I was just reading my month Rick Steves' month tour news and he mentioned the following:
"Passport Prices Going Up July 13th!
Check the expiration date on your passport. If yours is due to expire within the next year — or if you need to order your very first passport for an upcoming trip — you'll save a lot by ordering before July 13th.

That's when the cost for a first-time passport for an adult (age 16 and older) will increase to $135, up from the current $100. A renewal for an adult passport will be $110, up from $75. A first-time passport or renewal for a minor (under age 16) will be $105, up from $85.

Renewals for most adults can be done by mail, but first-time applicants and those under 16 must apply in person at an acceptance facility (often a post office, library or government office).

Another article Rick Steves has this month is about visiting tapas bars in Spain. Interesting and tickles my taste buds. http://www.ricksteves.com/tms/article.cfm?id=219&extras=false

Years ago I went to a Spain restuarant with one of my Vice Presidents (think Mad Men and you've got the picture of him). The very well built waitress, with a thick Spanish accent, was trying to tell him he should come on Friday nights when they had their tapas bar. With a gleam in his eye he asked if SHE would be there. I whisperred to him she saying T-A-P-A-S bar not Topless bar!.

....OK, a new batch of updates have been made to the lanyard list. Take a look at it HERE and let me know if there is anything that needs to be changed!

We're up to 264 people on the lanyard list....so that means I have only about 35 extras left....so speak up soon if you want one!!! :thumbsup2

Hi Connie,

I confirmed some time ago that i wanted 2 pins. I am just confirming again now that design 2 has been chosen. Thanks again. Tru

I know many are breathing a sigh of relief knowing your flight info:) I only booked flights once with DCL--the not knowing was the worst part.:cool1:

I try to skim through to keep up with everyone, it's been very busy and long hours at work. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend:)

Might I suggest you tape a picture of him to a pillow and sleep with that so at least you will recognize him when he gets back?

You are a funny girl!!:lmao::rotfl2: Actually I did pack a shirt he had worn in my luggage when I traveled for work and slept with that by my nose. The smell of his cologne helped me get to sleep. Silly, but whatever works.... But since I am the one at home I think we can make it through one evening and night! :rotfl:

Hi everyone
Ive been trying all week to get to the end of this thread -- and tonight finally made it.
I really enjoy reading all your posts, Carl says I sit here pulling all sorts of faces - smiling, frowning and generally
telling him stuff, every now and then :goodvibes.

Ok then there are too many thing to multiquote, (I gave up that idea 30 pages ago !!).

So firstly I would like to thank 'Sarah for the navigator its fab an:cool1:d has sooo much information inside.

Tig82174 Thanks for all your hard work on making the Lanyards. I am looking forward to seeing them.

Terrapin' your baby grandson is adorable. A lovely name too. I have 1 gs and he is called Jacob too.

'Marilyn' I was laughin earlier about your packing and how many suitcases John was allowed. I have the
problem that Carl doesnt mind how much I take, because he would take most of his wardrobe if he was allowed :rotfl:.

'Angel' hope your B.bque/Dis meet goes well.

I am loving all the photos of dresses for formal nights. I love shopping, we went last week and also had a day
out again this week. So have got some lovely new clothes for the cruise. :cool1:

:welcome: to all the new people who have signed on, how lucky you are to have a small countdown.

Sorry if I have missed out something or someone important . Wishing you all a good weekend. Its very hot in the UK at the moment, with temps close to 30 today. I am at a B.bque at my daughters on Sunday. So will have all 3 of my 'big kids' together for a change

OK favourite Newer is Lilo and Stitch as I am officially Lilo!

I also identify with Lilo, lol "My friends need to be punished." One of my favourite lines ever!

Well, I will be on my own tonight. :scared: I have been struggling trying to get CPAP supplies for Dennis. Long story, original sleep center no longer has records (more than 10 years old), the place we were getting them can't send them now because we moved, new place can't send them without a prescription. Glad he got in quickly, I know you don't like to be apart, but think how sweet the homecoming will be.:cloud9:
