September 6 is my son Trevor's birthday also... can you request a cake in the dining room?

Janice

You can add it to your reservation or just email DCL and theyll sort it for you. We have Dan's Bday and our anniversary down for cake - 1 on the first night and 1 on the second! It isn't the nicest cake but its cake!!!!!

you can even tell your server the first night of the cruise. Our Patrick only likes chocolate cake, so they brought him a chocolate cake! A friend of ours DS doesn't like cake at all, so they brought him a huge bowl of strawberries, which he absolutely loves! The servers are wonderful:grouphug:

John and I though our anniversary is this weekend (July 4th) are planning to celebrate our 25th on the cruise. I am also turning 60 on Dec 20!!

Patrick's birthday isn't until October 18, but we are celebrating it on the cruise.......:bday:

Good idea! Thanks Woody! I know I need Penny (pjpoohbear) will then need to do a bit of magic getting it to PDF so not sure when she wants it? Let me know when's easiest!

We didn't have a Mini Navigator on the Baltic, but there were so many room changes that we planned a meet the first sea day in Sessions to organize room numbers. Then one person had a sheet of paper attached to the stateroom door for people to go by and check and change their own lists. Helped a whole lot!

I am with you and Paula at Topsiders. We do one formal, but not two. Abby will be dressed in a gown with tiara, but I will just have on a dress. Going back to our conversation before - love jet fuel, hate dress up! :rotfl2:

My DH (love him anyway) will not bring his suit this time. For "formal" and "semi formal" nights he will agree to wear his nice silk shirt(no tie) and his nice linen sports jacket ..... oh, and black shoes ( not tennis shoes).

MEN!

Got Patrick's birthday!

I was thinking maybe we could have 1 person per fish extender group with a noteboard on their door that would say the room changes for that group. If they themselves moved rooms they would need to notify just the people in their groups so not too many, and the others in the group would be able to find the rooms easily by starting off here.

Any volunteers?????

Also would need one for the list of Secrete Mickey Participants and one for the Postcard Exchange I guess as well

Connie - so excited to see you finally booked!!! We don't live far from one another, but rarely see one another! So glad you had a great Baltic cruise.

Welcome to all the new people! My DH and I just went to lunch and we had a great talk about his job and everything. I feel really good about everything and getting excited about the cruise again. The layoff news of my DH can spoil it for a while, but I am feeling much better and ready to sail!!!

Sarah, I agree with Woody - I think we should wait a little longer before the mini, but that is my 2 cents. Also, love the idea that someone mentioned about having fruit instead of cake. Abby doesn't like cake, but a bowl of strawberries to celebrate her birthday would be perfect. Never would have thought of that. THANK YOU!

I'm in awe of all of you who are planning on bringing your beautiful dress-up clothes (the pics of those 2 dresses are gorgeous, btw; personally would go w/the straps since the "girls" need some support, iykwim). DH is still not wanting to bring any kind of formal wear, so I guess we'll be doing Topsiders like Paula (hey Paula, want company?).

I am confused:confused3. Why would you do topsiders on formal night? I have seen people come to dinner is a wide variety of attire on formal night. We always eat in the dining room no matter what. I am not sure whether we will dress up (Dsis and Myself), but I am certain Dh and DBil will not. They may wear a suit. That is a big "May" Not sure what you typically wear to dinner, be we always wear clothes that are clean and serviceable. I figure that is good enough.:thumbsup2

I guess we didn't want to be seen without a gown on. :rotfl2:

We just came back from an Alaska cruise and have learned so much about that beautiful state.
Bob & Val

Welcome. I look forward to meeting you and hearing all about your ALaska cruise as we are going there next year.

Thanks to those who caught the military rate discounts coming out. I wasn't sure if we could get it since we booked through USAA, but called this morning anyway. I figured what was the worst that would happen; I'd just be in exactly the same spot I was before. So I called and (drum roll, please) managed to save over $1500. DH was thrilled.

I am jealous. I put a call into my TA, she sent me an email saying she was gonna check, but have not heard a word back. Guess I will shoot her a reminder.

Hence one of the reasons I do not like using a TA. I am a bit of a control freak and when you surrender control to someone else this is what happens.:headache:

I have put your name on my list, i will let you now when i now more.
Today all the company's where closed early because the Netherlands played soccer against Brazil and we won 2-1.:cheer2::cheer2:

On monday they will let me now what they can do for us.

Connie

I might be interested as well

Hello again all! I haven't posted much but have been following along eagerly. Best wishes to all who have been under the weather for a speedy and complete recovery.

Anyway, I hope to be able to post more, but I am lurking.

Sarah, DH (Greg) and I (Erica) will be celebrating our first anniversary (9/5, but celebrating on the cruise).

Congrats to snagging the military rates and what a great way to celebrate your first anniversary !! Whatever breaks the military can catch from the private sector are well deserved!

Welcome to the thread!! We are Noel and John This is going to be fabulous cruise! Be sure you check out the first page of this thread for all the great activities planned. You should also check out the transatlanticpirates.com website.

There are some clips on you tube and you can buy the cast recording online so you can enjoy a flavour of the show. It features all new music (non from the original films) and is written in disco style.

WELCOME to all you new join-ees it's never to late to join in the fun.

SW

I loved the website. Thanks for posting. I will watch for here in the SF Bay area.

Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome. As recommended, I looked on the list of fellow cruisers and where they are staying. I see many of you are staying at the Praktik Rambla. Any recommendations of that particular hotel and info on where to book?

Thanks again. Appreciate all the help (does anyone know how to drop 40 pounds by the cruise?). Let me know if you want any info from me for the many lists I see someone has been kind enough to create.

Val

If you find the secret to dropping 40 pounds, let me be the first person you email!!

As far as the lists, just PM the person who posted on the first page of the thread.

Secret Mickey exchange is closing this weekend according to Totally Angelic(Sarah). I think most activities are on posted on the first page but one that is not is the postcard exchange which Gismo1554 (Sarah) is organizing.

On the transatlantic pirates link, I think you just sign up under the roll. If you want to send a picture, the website tells you which email address to send it to.

Just my thoughts...
:surfweb:

We just prop them into the Fish outside their room. They are meant to hold letters etc anyway so they will balance easily behind them as the gaps perfect size for letters etc.

Thanks for the quick response. I will put in my cruise planing PowerPoint presentation.

I will volunteer to have the lists on our door. Tell me how you want them formatted. I could do excel spread sheets with names and room numbers and attach a pen so people could change their numbers. My only concern is do you think people would come by and randomly change numbers? I guess I could follow up and call people to be sure??:confused3

Let me know.
