When I can I start doing it, I'm a mother? :rotfl2:

Maybe you have to wait until you get an official letter or something lol!

Don't listen to the silly numbers, Listen to your body, If you feel fit and healthy and are comfortable in yourself, who cares what number the scales say? ;)

LOL My Doctor! I know I need to loose some weight but if I lost 11 stone I would look ill! I was happy at 17 stone so 2 stone weight loss is fine to me but my Doctor wants me down to that size so God knows how I get there!

Your forgiven for skimming, It's easy to do when your facing 10 pages and know if you don't read them now there will be 10 more pages the next day! ;)

I think it was my last lot of the 60 pages I had to get through so I don't feel too bad! Did make me laugh when I read it this morning!

OK confession time - I skim read this way too much! I think I misread what "quote" we were referring to and took it as the "breaking a sweat". To be fair I did wonder why people didn't understand what it meant but now reading this I understand lol! See I was far too sleepy to come on the Dis last night! BAD SARAH

Well i could still be wrong. We will have to wait for Lynne to come along and put us right!!!

It so annoys me how low a weight the medical profession would like us to be. I don't think they are happy till we look all scraggy and wrinkly!!! Then they will tell us we need to get some decent nutrition inside us!!! There is a happy medium somewhere to look, and be healthy and happy.

Tweety0227, is Epic the new ship? I was reading about it on CC. It looks crazy awesome! Enjoy!

Pj

PJ..yes, Epic is the new ship. We are really psyched. It's great that there are no ports to interfere with the enjoyment of the ship. We are going to try everything.

Hiya! Welcome onboard. You may need to pm Eric & Jason as not sure if they're around this week and this post may get lost. Just post a few more times and you should be able to or one of us can pm them for you just let us know.

Thank you! Yeah I tried to PM him and saw that I couldn't do that yet. I guess I need to get more active on this board soon so that I can get the information to him.

Hi all....we are finally booked into a hotel room. We are staying at Praktik Barcelona from the 16th until the 18th. So excited!!

Absolutely!

Yep, spanx aren't magic, it doesn't disappear, it just moves!

They are called Cankles, where your calf flows straight into your ankle. :lmao:

oh that sounds so familiar!

We've discussed bra's, knickers and spanx, I think the boys will have to fess up soon........jocks or boxers? :rotfl2:

And a big puffy neck and face!!!

sounds just like me!:rotfl2:

we're kindred spirits Sarah!

SOunds sensible to me!:)

Do make sure you tell us all about it :)

This just in (well, last night):

"Building a new cruise ship is hard work, and no one understands the struggle quite like Norwegian Cruise Line. In its quest to launch the 153,000-ton, 4,100-passenger Norwegian Epic, NCL has endured a series of setbacks -- from shipyard fires to unflattering jokes about Epic's appearance -- and with the ship's official debut only days away, the problems don't seem to be ending.

The latest trial involves a malfunctioning propeller shaft, which has limited Epic's top speed and delayed its arrival today in Southampton, where it's set to embark 2,500 media and travel professionals for a one-night showcase sailing. A spokesperson from the line says that the issue is being resolved and that the ship is still on schedule for its June 24 inaugural, a seven-night night transatlantic cruise from Southampton to New York, and its July 2 christening. Two days later, Epic will serve as host venue for Macy's annual Fourth of July Fireworks spectacular.

There are also other, smaller kinks to work out. Carolyn Spencer Brown, Cruise Critic's editor in chief, reported that the "Epic Plunge," a bowl waterslide where passengers in inner tubes rely on centrifugal forces to fling them around and then down, has been far from plunge-worthy. Apparently, sliders aren't generating enough speed and have had to paddle their way out of the bowl. In the 17-degree Ice Bar, the machine that makes the frozen goblets is on the fritz. For now, plastic cups will have to do.

Looking further back, the original concept for an innovative new ship design was introduced in 2006 and the order -- for two ships with an option for a third -- was placed that fall. The idea was bold. NCL would build ships that were an incredible 60 percent larger than anything in the fleet so that its "freestyle" concept -- opting for a variety of smaller, themed venues in lieu of a main dining room, theater or buffet -- could be more fully realized.

But the project soon hit snags. If you haven't been following the saga, here's a quick recap of the most memorable events:

Contractual disputes between the line and the shipyard resulted in the cancellation of the second Epic-class new-build, as well as some heavy fines for NCL to pay.

The first artist's renderings, released in early 2009, were met with ruthless mockery at the ship's boxy design, and Cruise Critic readers compared the top-heavy ship to a hat, poodle, Donald Trump's hair and an angry old man with bushy eyebrows.

A trio of suspicious fires broke out on the under-construction ship in May and June, and the yard suspected arson."

I hope they get it all sorted out. Sounds like fun, especially the Ice Bar and the Epic Plunge!

Thanks! All its done is made me not want to loose any weight at all and stuff my face so probably not helpful lol. Im 121kg now so have loads to loose - well actually my ideal weight is meant to be 72kg! In pounds I think I should be around the 160lb mark and I'm 266lbs! Wow that sounds scarey doesn't it? so I have around the 100lb mark to loose although I think if I lost that amount I would look ill as I don't look huge now! That's 11 stone! Oh my God Im scared now!

We're about the same size. I look fabulous though, so I'm sure you do too!

I am focusing on improving my strength and flexibility, and to improve my cardiac health, and to maintain the good health I am blessed with. I'd like to be smaller, but it isn't critical to my self-esteem. I like me. I'd just like to be smaller and am working towards that goal.

xoxo

That sounds like a great outlook, and is what I'm aiming for....improve my general fitness and strength....if I lose weight along the way I shall be happy!:thumbsup2

When you book a cruise onboard, they will give you a F&F certificate that you can take with you off the ship and give to someone who didn't travel with you so they can book the same cruise and get the on board credit. (I think this is the case. I know they don't get both the OBC and discount, but I forget which it is.) They have to book within 30 days. Honestly, if I have friends or family who are committed to taking a disney cruise, I just book the cruise on their behalf while I'm on the ship so they get both discounts. This is easiest if they make a reservation directly with DCL before your cruise, then you don't have to deal with their credit card and personal information. You can have the cruise assigned to their travel agent after you rebook it if that's what they desire.

As to booking while onboard, I'd do it even if you don't have a cruise in mind, so you can keep the OBC and discount. However, there was a thread recently where someone said they were being told by DCL that they couldn't move a reservation and maintain the benefits. Anxiously waiting to see what came of that one.

As I posted above, I know they person using the F&F certificate gets either the OBC or the discount, but not both. I thought they got the OBC, but not the discount, since DCL is pretty consistent about being the only ones to give out discounts and only when you rebook onboard. Discounts can run much higher than the OBC anyway which is why I'm thinking it's the OBC they get, and not the discount.

Thanks so much for all the great information! Really helpful :thumbsup2

Would love to see how FL pirates match up.

Still no hearing aid. I did finally get a hold of a supervisor at Six Flags today. He wasn't really sympathetic and advised me to go ahead and purchase a new hearing aid. To which I advised him to mail me the $2k and I would. I also talked to his audiologist who suggested that for the insurance claim possibly he 'lost' both hearing aids since she's been wanting to change him to a different model anyway.

:sad2: Oh no!! Hope the claim comes through quickly!!pixiedust:

Thanks Noel for all of the emails to Daniel's and the updates to us! This will be a great trip thanks to all of your legwork! You rock! :woohoo:

And thanks to Eusebia for being so helpful and attentive to our wishes for this tour! It is greatly appreciated! :goodvibes

Ditto - this tour is going to be incredible!! :cool1:

:rotfl2: :lmao: Hey! You don't have to be a has-been (ie. "formerly")! I can share Kimberly, Kimberly!! :flower3: :rotfl:

 No, I've already made the sacrifice so I can't go back now! :rotfl2:

Sue, go and try on some Spanx, they really make you feel like you've been poured into a second skin which is far too tight! :scared1:
DH Terry thinks that Spanx are 'false advertising', LOL :rotfl2:
Having said all that, they do work well and I would wear them If I needed them for a specific dress or occasion. :thumbsup2

They may be 'false advertising' but even when you only have 10-15 pounds (or less) to go they're great at smoothing out the lumps under certain clingy formals! Also, they keep you from having to remember to suck in your stomach all night long. :worship:

Spanx are exactly what you thought, I think Trinny and Susannah brought out a similar range in the UK. I need one that goes from my ankles to my neck to stop the dreaded flab overflow! :rotfl2:

That flab overflow has to go somewhere doesn't it?:lmao:

This is a phrase I'm taking to my WW meeting tonight! :rotfl2:

What I said from when they introduced that is that they should use the 7 night cruise as the average length and say the levels are as follows:
  • GOLD - More than 5 Cruises or More than 35 Nights of Cruising
  • PLATINUM - More than 10 Cruises or More than 70 Nights of Cruising

This would therefore keep both sides of the argument happy and make it more fair!
I like your idea.

Now. A question for crafters. Does any one know where I can find crystal Mickeys, on pins? The type that Disney Brides buy. Some come on pins to insert into their florals...or some are just little flat Mickey crystal motifs that they glue on to their bridal veils etc? Have tried Ebay, but dont seem to be having any luck?

Lyn

Candida might have an answer for this. I'll talk to her once she is up and moving or send her an email.

Spanx! The topic of conversation on Saturday. My question was - "Does underwear need to be worn under them?" Inquiring minds want to know. :rotfl2: (Seriously, do you?) :)

This group is really going to get into trouble, with 14 days together on one small ship. It seems like no matter what the topic is it eventually comes back to underwear:goodvibes

We've discussed bra's, knickers and spanx, I think the boys will have to fess up soon........jocks or boxers? :rotfl2:

I'll toss my answer into the ring..................

Hi all....we are finally booked into a hotel room. We are staying at Praktik Barcelona from the 16th until the 18th. So excited!!

Welcome, there are a few of us staying there. We'll be coming in on the 16th as well

Jon

If it were up to my DH John to pack for the cruise, he would take a pair of shorts, two Hawaiian shirts, a pair of long trousers, a few pairs of underwear, a bathing suit, a tee shirt to wear with bathing suit and his sandals.
That would easily fit into a carry-on. Just think, no excess baggage fees.

Munich is one of my favorite cities. DH and I spent two weeks there in the Bayerischerhof Hotel.
We spent one week in Munich and loved it -- especially our tour of the BMV factory and a daytrip to Neuschwanstein.

Woody

We will do Austria and Amsterdam before this cruise.
Krisann, we are also visiting Amsterdam before this cruise. We should compare dates (by PM -- this thread is getting too active for a person to keep up).

...or boxer briefs?! I am a boxer brief lovin' gal myself!

Wowza. That's unfortunate. Hopefully Melanie and her DH will break it in and get it on the right path of success!

The vision of paddling out of the bowl has me laughing! :rotfl:

The Ice Bar does sound "cool"! :cold: :thumbsup2 It reminds me of an ice hotel that has been featured on the Travel Channel by Samantha Brown. They make their own one-time use ice goblets, too. Afterwards, you get to throw it against a wall to break the "glass".

I know its crazy! I can't say I'm overly fit but I can't say I'm so unfit and fat that I can't walk the 40 minute walk into work each day or anything! Absolutely nuts!

Thank you! Yeah I tried to PM him and saw that I couldn't do that yet. I guess I need to get more active on this board soon so that I can get the information to him.

Its only 8 more posts to go! I'm sure you can do it! How's the weather today with you? We have a beautiful sunny day!
