Fingers crossed for a quiet night everybody, catch up on Tuesday, only one night off(million things to do) then I am locuming tuesd, wed, thursd(disney dollars!) so busy day tom and probably wont be able to catch up, no more than 20 pages right:lmao:

Good luck with your busy time at work! :)

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Last night, my DH and I went to see "Toy Story 3". I had to cry! It was a happy and sad cry...but it was a wonderful movie. When TS2 came out, I had just started working at my Disney Store 6 months before and look at me now - 11 years later and I'm still there! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to see this, I've heard so many good reports :cool1:

OK, I know this totally isn't the right place to post this, But I wanted to share with my Dis friends. I thought everyone knew about this, but I was talking to Su-Kraft today and she didn't know, and I thought she was the absolute guru!

So, I wrote a letter to Disney about a month ago telling them that my kids loved Disney and who their favourite characters are, and popped in some pictures the kids had done. Yesterday I received a big envelope from Disney with a photo of Minnie signed "to my friend Arabella, Love Minnie Mouse" and a photo of Alice and the White Rabbit with a similar signing for Lucinda. They are great quality black and white 8 x 10 inch, glossy photo's, hand signed. They also threw in some Fab Five signed 4 x 6 fan cards.
The kids were so excited to get mail from Disney, I framed the pictures and put them in their room today, they look great.
Just thought I'd put it out there in case anyones kids (or big kids) might like one. :thumbsup2

What a lovely idea! :)

I have booked Parasailing on CC for 1230, but am wondering whether to keep or not. Originally DH promised this as part of my christmas present last year :lovestruck. But he did say I could change to something else if I wish. My main concern is that we are at CC for such a short time, how can I sacrifice the time at |Serenity Bay! It would mean not getting down there until likely 2pm. And then its Lunch to rush....Will be pondering this one! As dedicated beach bums, we normally hit the loungers and stay there lol. Am thinking might be better to have a massage or something on a sea day, when weather may limit our sunbed time by the adult pool!

Lyn

That's a conundrum, Lyn. It's a shame we have such a short time on CC :confused3 We too spend most of the day on the beach and in the water, but if you've always wanted to do the para sailing it makes a difficult decision....:rolleyes1

On another note, has anyone ever tried the teeth whitening? My dentist is rather negative about such treatments, muttering darkly about long term effects. Any one any thoughts or experience? How well does it work?
Lyn

Glenn and Stephen are booked for that parasaing as well. I am on the fence about it to - if they do that and then we snorkle, that is the wholeday... Decisions, decisions... We are trying to do parasailing at St. Maarten as well, so if we can do that I will cancle the CC one.

I did the teeth whitening. It was ok - but not worth the money in my eyes. I didn't get dark spots afterwards, just didn't get the results I was hoping for. My teeth are pretty white, but I know that if I were to do the strips they get about 2-3 shades whiter. This did no better and was more costly. Not work it in my eyes.

Thanks! That is really helpful. Confirms other reports. I can sure spend my money better ways then

This sounds good for those of us who have taken longer cruises, but how would it actually work with these onboard bookings. In the end it would just be the same wouldn't it?
DCL has everyone's cruise history -- "Dates, Cruise Departure (including number of nights), Ship, Stateroom, and Reservation Number." You can even check your past cruises on the DCL website.

It doesn't matter if you booked onboard, with a travel agent, or on the DCL website. It's all there.

Careful with camers and other items like handbags. Someone posted a while back on the main board that the apes tried to steal their camera...

The apes tend to like anything "shiny".....cameras, jewelry, sunglasses....etc

Know many of you just signed up - but...

If you are listed below can you please confirm that you are indeed participating?

  1. eeyorelvr10
  2. disneynut64
  3. PJPoohBear
Thanks!!

I know Laura (eeyorelvr10) is still cruising and I am almost positive she is still doing a FE, but I will call her in a little while to make sure. She is on the westcoast and sleeps late :goodvibes

Ah, sorry. I meant the other way of giving points for repeat customers and suite customers etc that you mentioned, how would that make a difference with booking Palo reservations etc. There would still have to be priority for earlier booking for those with higher points, so those lower down the point scale would miss out, like now, and still have to go to Rockin Bar D at embarkation.

ATTENTION ALL DANIEL TAXI MADERIA TOUR CRUISERS:
Hey gang, here is the latest email on our trip. Seems like they can accommodate all of us and more. If anyone has any more questions, please ask away!!!

Hello Noel,

Thank you so much for the 60 Euro payment you sent me. I finalized the transaction already and all is ok. Thank you for the cute “Thank you” card too.

Nice to know so many people are interested in taking the tour with you. Yes you can accept everybody and even more. We can provide more 15 passenger vans than 16 passenger ones and in order not to split the couples, we’ll accommodate 14 people in each one. In case you have any solo cruisers, they can complete a 15 passenger van. We also provide 8 passenger vans and depending on your total number of people we can use them as well.

Yes, we customize itineraries whenever our clients have their own preferences. If you or your group have any ideas, please let me know.

For large groups we book the restaurant beforehand and, in the morning, the driver talks to the clients about the different options in the menu, so that everybody decides what they’d like to eat. The driver then calls the restaurant to place the order in advance and when the group arrives, lunch is served straight away, which is very convenient and avoids any waste of time. Please make sure everybody understands that lunch is being paid extra. Sometimes people don’t pay all due attention and then they feel annoyed when they discover that the meal is not included in our price.

I’m not quite sure what a tapas lunch is, but maybe you mean a light meal, right? In a previous e-mail I mentioned “espada” which is a very popular fish in Madeira. It’s not too heavy, but if you prefer something more on the light side, maybe you’d rather have, for instance a soup and sandwich. Anyway, the restaurant caters for everything, so it’ll be up to each and every person to choose whatever they feel like having.

Now… Dee Judson. I’m thinking I’m going to resend her my message again and see what happens. Yes, maybe she’d like to join your group. She’s coming in a 6 people group, they’re interested in the West tour, plus wine tasting at Blandy’s, in the end.

I’m so pleased to know everybody is so enthusiastic about their Madeira tour.

Best wishes,

Eusébia.

OK I admit I missed more than a few days of reading. Could someone point me to the original post so I know what this tour is about thanks :)

Thanks I appreciate it! I am hoping not to be out of pocket on any of this, as I can't really afford to be... But I also want to be able to send it all at once to Todd, so... Rock, meet hard place...:rotfl2:

Oh! So THAT is how! When my friends Peter and Christen got married last month, their wedding planner put a black and white picture of Mickey and Minnie on the gift table. It was also personalized with a congratulations comment. (There was also a congratulations card from the White House with President Obama and Michelle's signatures.)

Thanks for sharing, Hayley!

That's a reminder also for all our DCL newbies. You can bring something for character signatures along with Sharpies or fabric markers in a bag, drop it off at Guest Services, and it returns to your stateroom on the last night!

On my last cruise, I had photo mats signed by the Fab Five, each in a different color. My grandmother and mom were on that cruise with me, and they didn't know I had this done. For Christmas, I paired up one of their personal favorite pictures from our cruise with the signed mat, framed it, and it gave them as a gift. It was another magical reminder of our cruise months later. :goodvibes

Additionally, for my scrapbook, I cut clear transparency sheets into 4.5" x 6.5" pieces, put colored sheets of paper between them, hole-punched the upper left corner of each sheet, and put them all through a clasp ring like you find on a binder. It came back with over 15 different character signatures! Each has been great to put on top of a photo in the scrapbook, give the appearance of a scrapbook page being signed, or layered on top of a journaling box.

If you're new to this idea, another popular item for signatures are pillow cases. If you sneak it to Guest Services, it's really a nice surprise for the kiddos to get back from dinner on their last night and find that the characters left them a gift behind. Just remember to label each item you leave them with your cabin number in case it gets separated from the bag/envelope you have it placed in.

I forgot to mention the milestone day we have reached today! Today's the first day of summer for the northern hemisphere! We're cruising this summer!! :woohoo: It's another step closer!! The next season change we can do together over a Drink of the Day! :sunny:

We saw it last night too!! It was awesome! And yes, I cried too. The other 3 people I went with did as well!!! I really hope we get the see it again on the ship!

Is there a confirmed list of evening events and attire?

Woody

Not as such, but some pages ago, there were best guesses based on information received from Disney. There was some conflicting on dates, but overall, some consensus
I'm sure others have more up to date info?

Lyn

Sounds good to me!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

I have a delima - and no, it doesn't involve t shirts or FE's...

Just read on the main board that they now have cameras at all of the check in terminals. Since we wouldn't go through the standard line (suite line) I need to know how to keep the upgrade a secret from the kids...

Any ideas?

Sue

That is so neat! When I worked at WDW, I worked with the characters and I bought a Disney story book and had the characters autograph by their picture in their story. It was so much fun...granted, I didn't have to wait in line for it and I got some rare signatures too...:thumbsup2

That is my status on Facebook!

I hope everyone is having a great day! :)

So, I just logged into my disney cruise online to make sure I have everything ready for tonight and I had a message stating that a Fuel Supplement Credit had been applied to our account! We booked on points thru DVC so I thought it must be a mistake but I just called member services and DCL and there's a $224 credit on our account!!! Wooohoooo!! That was a nice surprise! :woohoo:

Just thought I should give a heads up to anyone else who maybe never noticed it when they logged in. It was in a small box on the right hand side under Retrieve Another Reservation.

I printed it out just in case there are any problems!!

Definitely print it out and take it - not sure that I would trust anything on this anymore.

So I've been trying to find out more information about this stupid fuel suppliment charge. I called DCL and after receiving the standard reply from the CM (who by the way was very nice) I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor was very belligerent and said sorry here's an email address for your gripe. So I sent an email off and today received the standard reply again - policy blah blah blah. Seriously, do they not know that we talk??? :confused3

I'm actually considering sending an email repeatedly until I can get a better understanding as to why (besides policy) they (DCL) can morally or ethically charge a surcharge to some people and not all.
