I ordered our tickets today thru DVC for the night of the 3rd what a deal it was only 53.95 per person. Is anyone else doing it. I'm also doing the race on the 2nd so wish me luck. My best is 18 min miles so far and im afraid of being swept.
I know its been posted before but between school and work i barley have time to skim thru. (dont tell anyone i'm online, instead of doing homework)
I think it is just starting to sink in that we leave in 87 days.
DH was hoping to do the half marathon and still has not entirely given up on it. He was banned from running for a few weeks earlier this year as his knee joints were showing some stress and he has got behind with his training because of this.
I was seriously considered Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, but I managed to get reservations at all the signature restaurants I really wanted to try and just could not decide which one to drop. We are going to do the deluxe dining plan so it would be a shame not to put all those credits to good use. I enjoyed the party last year, but I figured with us being DVC members, there will be plenty of other chances.
Jan, thanks for the details. It's a good reminder to take all precautions against pickpockets.

This was the last bit of convincing that I needed to get a Pacsafe bag.I will order it on my next payday.
Just in from Daniel Taxi in the nick of time. If anyone who has not PM'd me is interested, please let me know. The tour can hold up to 15 and we have not yet reached that quota. If there are many more than 15, we can ask to have another tour added.
Since we get off at 8:30, I think this is a fabulous deal. We can all arrange our own transportation back either together from the Old Blandy Lodge or separately.
I need feedback on what people are interested in touring. My preference is the first tour starting at 8:30. If there are things people want to see, it is important to ask if they can be included at the same price.
Dear Noel,
Sorry I kept you waiting again.
Now
answering your questions:
1. It will be more economical for you, if, after Blandys, you return to your cruise ship on your own, as, in this way, you wont be paying for your drivers waiting time. For those in your group who can walk well, it will take them 30 minutes from Blandys to the pier. Alternatively, theres the possibility of you taking a taxi very close to Blandys. For your trip from there to your cruise ship, youll pay 7.50 Euros.
2. If your arrival is at 8:30am, youll do the Cable Car ride, followed by the Toboggan and then your driver will proceed with, for example, the West tour, which includes:
· Câmara de Lobos
· Cabo Girão
· Ribeira Brava
· Encumeada
· São Vicente
· Seixal
· Porto Moniz
· Santa
· Paúl da Serra
· Ponta do Sol
· Back to Funchal
On the other hand, if your cruise ship arrives at 10:30am, your driver will take you to the Cable Car and Toboggan rides (Monte) and then Id suggest a visit to:
o Pico dos Barcelos
o Eira do Serrado the lookout over Curral das Freiras
o Câmara de Lobos
o Cabo Girão
o Plus a choice between the Botanical Gardens (where youll stay for about 45minutes to 1 hour) or Camacha where you can visit the wicker factory
3. During your tour, you can visit churches, but youll see, mostly, Madeiras natural beauty.
4. Extra charges will be: the Cable Car ride (10 Euros per person) and the Toboggan ride (12.50 Euros per person sharing)
5. If you take the West tour, youll probably have lunch in Porto Moniz. In case you arrive later and take the shorter tour, you can have lunch in Eira do Serrado or Cabo Girão. Pricewise, if you choose, for instance, our very traditional fish espada then you can expect to pay between 12 and 15 Euros.
6. Yes, if some of you prefer to pay in advance using Paypal, Daniel is willing to accept.
And any further questions you may have, feel free to ask, it will be my pleasure to help.
With best wishes,
Eusébia.
This sounds great. I think the longer tour is probably the way to go.
What a croc! I logged on 12:02 PDT and there weren't any High Teas left. Tried booking Brunch and there was only one day remaining and I couldn't book for 2 people? Only Dinners remaining which there are plenty of.
So disappointed with Disney.
Ok, that did not go well!!!
Got in at 9:02 but couldn't get the High Tea and I got so excited when I got brunch that I only added Gus and not myself. Errrr!
Managed to get dinner and one excursion but none of the times we wanted them!!
Bummer...
I was logged in at exactly 5 AM my time and headed for the Palo reservations first. There were no reservations for tea, which was really what I was looking for. I did see brunch reservations. I checked out the excursion and then headed back to the Palo reservations and by 5:11 AM, all the brunch reservations had gone as well.
I looked at the dolphin swim in Tortola, but it was not really what I wanted. I was really hoping for the Royal Swim and they just offer the Dolphin Swim Adventure. The irony is that the Royal Swim through Shore Trips is cheaper than the Dolphin Swim Adventure through
DCL, so I have gone back to the original plan.
I did however spot a dolphin watch boat tour in Gibraltar. I did not book it this morning, but went back to book it after discussing it with DH. We have opted for the afternoon tour, which gives us plenty of time to explore Gibraltar on our own in the morning as we don't meet until 3 PM.
Hope you all got everything you wanted booked tonight. My family and I are new to the DisBoards. We are doing the last Med and the TA, back2back. I have just finished reading about 100+ posts. You all sound like very experienced cruisers. This will be our family's 4th
Disney Cruise. It will be me, my dh age 39 (he will be turning 40 while on the med cruise on 9-15), ds age 12, dd age 8, and g-ma (my mom). This will be g-ma's first ever cruise, so she is very excited! I signed up on the "roll call", but would also like to do the FE group, scavenger hunt, etc. It all sounds like so much fun. We are also interested in the West Madeira private excursion. I tried to PM Noel, but wasn't able to til I have 10 posts.

on board.
Hi everyone, some great info on this thread, I just thought I would introduce myself (be gentle lol)
There is me, Tim and my DW Kerrie, we are from Yorkshire in the U.K. and love everything Disney, we got married in Florida in 2003 on our first trip together to WDW and have been back every year since. This will be our 3rd DCL cruise and can't wait

We bought DVC at Bay Lake Tower last year while on the Magic and have booked this cruise with DVC points (only 330 for both of us

)
We fly to Barcelona on the 17th with Easyjet from Doncaster and are staying at the Marriot Reannaisance for the night.
I was also up at 5am this morning and managed to get Palo dinner for the day and time that I wanted as well as the 2 shore excursions I wanted, but you can add me to the growing list who couldn't get brunch

so I will keep checking online or try onboard.
Looking forward to getting to know you all better (I think I know a couple of you already) not long now

Tim

on board.
I think thats because I've got Davy Jones' Locker as my location elsewhere

We live just outside of Hull in Hessle
We used to live in Beverley and I did my teacher training and taught in Hull.
Hi! My mom went online last night, it was her 90 day mark, she went to sign up
for Palo brunch and tea...it was already gone! She was a little upset with this, it
is one of the few things she,my grandmother and great aunt really want to do.
She called DCL and she was told that gold and platinum members took the ressies.
Anyone else run into this? She is really upset and disappointed. Any suggestions
This matches what I had previously been advised by DCL - that all the reservations are released at once and once they are gone, they are gone. There is always the possibility of cancellations. When I booked the Med cruise on fairly short notice, there were no brunch reservations available. However, when we had our Palo dinner, they offered us brunch for both remaining sea days.
On the Med cruise, they opened the shops for an hour or so after the sail away party.
I thought that they changed it, and we leave Barcelona at 4:00
4:00 is just all on board. On the Med cruise all on board was 4:00 safety drill was at 5:00 and the sail away party was at 10:00.
ATTENTION ALL DANIEL TAXI MADERIA TOUR CRUISERS:
I just wanted to give an update on our tour in Madeira:
First, we have 39 people (including John and I) that have expressed interest. These are the DISers and number in the party who have confirmed with me. I have listed them in order of their request to me If you have decided otherwise, please send me a PM. If not, I will assume you still want to take the tour.
I am going to have to request 3 tour buses. The buses hold 16 each so we have room for 8 more people if they have room for all of us. However, before I ask, I do want to be sure people are committed.
I will be sending more info via PM as well as a copy of the email I received. I will copy the email from Daniel Taxis in my next post.

Do we know what time the sail away party will be? We have late dining...I really don't want to miss our departure from Barcelona. Wonder if we will have to consider missing dinner in the dining room the first night and just grab food at topsiders....hmmmmm......
Sail away party on the Med cruise was 10:00.
