Money sent thank you. Please look to see if you remembered to change the adult large to adult medium. Thanks

John and I are thinking of doing a private tour in Gibralter to Pillars of Hercules, St Michaels Cave, Highest Point with Barbary and Apes and Great Siege Tunnels. Does anyone want to join us?

Better late than never ....

ONLY 12 WEEKS TO GO UNTIL WE JOIN THE DISNEY MAGIC !!!!!
(well 11 weeks and 6 days really !!!)

I hate to be a wet blanket but yesterday was actually 13 weeks to go. :confused3

Still happy about that!:cool1:

I was wondering if I was on a different cruise since I knew I still had 13 weeks to go!!! :rotfl:

It's okay if they don't b/c we'll get them for the Pirates party (weather permitting)! It will be cool if they do though! :goodvibes

Does anyone know if there were fireworks for the last WBTA?

I was also on the 2007 WBTA and we had no fireworks....If I am remembering right, it was still daylight when we left :confused3

Hi everyone, some great info on this thread, I just thought I would introduce myself (be gentle lol)
There is me, Tim and my DW Kerrie, we are from Yorkshire in the U.K. and love everything Disney, we got married in Florida in 2003 on our first trip together to WDW and have been back every year since. This will be our 3rd DCL cruise and can't wait  We bought DVC at Bay Lake Tower last year while on the Magic and have booked this cruise with DVC points (only 330 for both of us :thumbsup2 )
We fly to Barcelona on the 17th with Easyjet from Doncaster and are staying at the Marriot Reannaisance for the night.
I was also up at 5am this morning and managed to get Palo dinner for the day and time that I wanted as well as the 2 shore excursions I wanted, but you can add me to the growing list who couldn't get brunch :sad1: so I will keep checking online or try onboard.
Looking forward to getting to know you all better (I think I know a couple of you already) not long now :banana::banana::banana::banana:

Tim

Hiya Tim! :thumbsup2 We spent our honeymoon in 2003 in Florida too (inc a DCL cruise)
Not long now!:cool1:

Sorry everyone .... unfortunately I have cracked a bone in my hand after I slipped down the last 2 stairs in my hallway and caught my fall with my right hand on parquet flooring .... a very very small thing really but they made me have an x-ray when I popped to the A and E for some support bandage to help me write my notes in my shift. X-ray showed a crack in a bone so now it has a splint ( no cast though ... I begged not to have one of those ) and I am "supposed" to rest it for a week, so I got signed off work. Not much you can do as a midwife with no working right hand. Not too painful unless I press on the spot or try and pick anything up or move in a certain way. I feel a bit of a fraud really.

Glad you managed to get mostly what you wanted. I guess will be having a DIS meet in Rockin Bar D on embarkation day.... see you in the Brunch line !!!!

Hope it recovers quickly Sarah  See you in the brunch line!:rolleyes1

Better late than never ....

ONLY 12 WEEKS TO GO UNTIL WE JOIN THE DISNEY MAGIC !!!!!
(well 11 weeks and 6 days really !!!)

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: whether it's 12 or 13......:rotfl2:

I ordered our tickets today thru DVC for the night of the 3rd what a deal it was only 53.95 per person. Is anyone else doing it. I'm also doing the race on the 2nd so wish me luck. My best is 18 min miles so far and im afraid of being swept.

I know its been posted before but between school and work i barley have time to skim thru. (dont tell anyone i'm online, instead of doing homework)

I think it is just starting to sink in that we leave in 87 days.

DH was hoping to do the half marathon and still has not entirely given up on it. He was banned from running for a few weeks earlier this year as his knee joints were showing some stress and he has got behind with his training because of this.

I was seriously considered Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, but I managed to get reservations at all the signature restaurants I really wanted to try and just could not decide which one to drop. We are going to do the deluxe dining plan so it would be a shame not to put all those credits to good use. I enjoyed the party last year, but I figured with us being DVC members, there will be plenty of other chances.

Jan, thanks for the details. It's a good reminder to take all precautions against pickpockets.

Woody

This was the last bit of convincing that I needed to get a Pacsafe bag.I will order it on my next payday.

Just in from Daniel Taxi in the nick of time. If anyone who has not PM'd me is interested, please let me know. The tour can hold up to 15 and we have not yet reached that quota. If there are many more than 15, we can ask to have another tour added.

Since we get off at 8:30, I think this is a fabulous deal. We can all arrange our own transportation back either together from the Old Blandy Lodge or separately.

I need feedback on what people are interested in touring. My preference is the first tour starting at 8:30. If there are things people want to see, it is important to ask if they can be included at the same price.

Dear Noel,

Sorry I kept you waiting again.

Now… answering your questions:

1. It will be more economical for you, if, after Blandy’s, you return to your cruise ship on your own, as, in this way, you won’t be paying for your driver’s waiting time. For those in your group who can walk well, it will take them 30 minutes from Blandy’s to the pier. Alternatively, there’s the possibility of you taking a taxi very close to Blandy’s. For your trip from there to your cruise ship, you’ll pay 7.50 Euros.
2. If your arrival is at 8:30am, you’ll do the Cable Car ride, followed by the Toboggan and then your driver will proceed with, for example, the West tour, which includes:
· Câmara de Lobos
· Cabo Girão
· Ribeira Brava
· Encumeada
· São Vicente
· Seixal
· Porto Moniz
· Santa
· Paúl da Serra
· Ponta do Sol
· Back to Funchal

On the other hand, if your cruise ship arrives at 10:30am, your driver will take you to the Cable Car and Toboggan rides (Monte) and then I’d suggest a visit to:
o Pico dos Barcelos
o Eira do Serrado – the lookout over Curral das Freiras
o Câmara de Lobos
o Cabo Girão
o Plus a choice between the Botanical Gardens (where you’ll stay for about 45minutes to 1 hour) or Camacha where you can visit the wicker factory
3. During your tour, you can visit churches, but you’ll see, mostly, Madeira’s natural beauty.
4. Extra charges will be: the Cable Car ride (10 Euros per person) and the Toboggan ride (12.50 Euros per person sharing)
5. If you take the West tour, you’ll probably have lunch in Porto Moniz. In case you arrive later and take the shorter tour, you can have lunch in Eira do Serrado or Cabo Girão. Pricewise, if you choose, for instance, our very traditional fish – espada – then you can expect to pay between 12 and 15 Euros.
6. Yes, if some of you prefer to pay in advance using Paypal, Daniel is willing to accept.

And any further questions you may have, feel free to ask, it will be my pleasure to help.

With best wishes,

Eusébia.

This sounds great. I think the longer tour is probably the way to go.

What a croc! I logged on 12:02 PDT and there weren't any High Teas left. Tried booking Brunch and there was only one day remaining and I couldn't book for 2 people? Only Dinners remaining which there are plenty of.

So disappointed with Disney.

Ok, that did not go well!!! :guilty:

Got in at 9:02 but couldn't get the High Tea and I got so excited when I got brunch that I only added Gus and not myself. Errrr!

Managed to get dinner and one excursion but none of the times we wanted them!!

Bummer...

I was logged in at exactly 5 AM my time and headed for the Palo reservations first. There were no reservations for tea, which was really what I was looking for. I did see brunch reservations. I checked out the excursion and then headed back to the Palo reservations and by 5:11 AM, all the brunch reservations had gone as well.

I looked at the dolphin swim in Tortola, but it was not really what I wanted. I was really hoping for the Royal Swim and they just offer the Dolphin Swim Adventure. The irony is that the Royal Swim through Shore Trips is cheaper than the Dolphin Swim Adventure through DCL, so I have gone back to the original plan.

I did however spot a dolphin watch boat tour in Gibraltar. I did not book it this morning, but went back to book it after discussing it with DH. We have opted for the afternoon tour, which gives us plenty of time to explore Gibraltar on our own in the morning as we don't meet until 3 PM.

Hope you all got everything you wanted booked tonight. My family and I are new to the DisBoards. We are doing the last Med and the TA, back2back. I have just finished reading about 100+ posts. You all sound like very experienced cruisers. This will be our family's 4th Disney Cruise. It will be me, my dh age 39 (he will be turning 40 while on the med cruise on 9-15), ds age 12, dd age 8, and g-ma (my mom). This will be g-ma's first ever cruise, so she is very excited! I signed up on the "roll call", but would also like to do the FE group, scavenger hunt, etc. It all sounds like so much fun. We are also interested in the West Madeira private excursion. I tried to PM Noel, but wasn't able to til I have 10 posts.

:welcome: on board.

:welcome: on board.

I think thats because I've got Davy Jones' Locker as my location elsewhere pirate:
We live just outside of Hull in Hessle :)

We used to live in Beverley and I did my teacher training and taught in Hull.

Hi! My mom went online last night, it was her 90 day mark, she went to sign up
for Palo brunch and tea...it was already gone! She was a little upset with this, it
is one of the few things she,my grandmother and great aunt really want to do.
She called DCL and she was told that gold and platinum members took the ressies.
Anyone else run into this? She is really upset and disappointed. Any suggestions

This matches what I had previously been advised by DCL - that all the reservations are released at once and once they are gone, they are gone. There is always the possibility of cancellations. When I booked the Med cruise on fairly short notice, there were no brunch reservations available. However, when we had our Palo dinner, they offered us brunch for both remaining sea days.

I think we are going to have to wait until Sunday because the stores aren't open when we're in port and we don't leave Barcelona until 9 pm. I'm sure there will be a long line of us when the stores open! I want the wristlet!!!!:banana::banana:

On the Med cruise, they opened the shops for an hour or so after the sail away party.

I thought that they changed it, and we leave Barcelona at 4:00 :confused3

4:00 is just all on board. On the Med cruise all on board was 4:00 safety drill was at 5:00 and the sail away party was at 10:00.

ATTENTION ALL DANIEL TAXI MADERIA TOUR CRUISERS:

I just wanted to give an update on our tour in Madeira:
First, we have 39 people (including John and I) that have expressed interest. These are the DISers and number in the party who have confirmed with me. I have listed them in order of their request to me If you have decided otherwise, please send me a PM. If not, I will assume you still want to take the tour.

I am going to have to request 3 tour buses. The buses hold 16 each so we have room for 8 more people if they have room for all of us. However, before I ask, I do want to be sure people are committed.

I will be sending more info via PM as well as a copy of the email I received. I will copy the email from Daniel Taxis in my next post.

Do we know what time the sail away party will be? We have late dining...I really don't want to miss our departure from Barcelona. Wonder if we will have to consider missing dinner in the dining room the first night and just grab food at topsiders....hmmmmm......:confused3

Sail away party on the Med cruise was 10:00.

Well I am pleased, I logged on DCL site at 5am went straight to Palo Brunch and managed to book and confirm it.
We are really pleased, as we didn't get to do Brunch, on our Med cruise this June. It was disapointing as we were 3rd on the waiting list.

Glad you were able to get brunch.....I too logged on at 5 and went straight to brunch :confused3 just the luck of the draw I guess :thumbsup2

I just can't wait till we set sail on this adventure.:dance3::dance3::dance3:

I'm with you on that Marilyn! :dance3::dance3:

This should make you feel better:

On the EBTA, we had five zone time changes, and lost an hour of sleep five night in a row.

On the WBTA, you will gain back those hours -- five extra hours of sleep!

People on the EB were jealous of the WB.

Woody

sounds good to me! I do like my sleep!;)

I just double checked and yes, you are on the list. I am still waiting to hear about two additional buses for all of us. Are you wanting to wine taste, if so, send me a pm and I will add you that list and give you website to sign up. Cost for tasting is 5 Euros per person.

I should have included you on the PM list. That is why I am double posting as I have so many requests that I don't want to forget anyone. I will be sure to do so in future

Arrival/Disembark On Board/Departure

Barcelona 4:00/9:31
Gibraltar 6:00/8:00 5:30/6:00
Madeira 6:00/8:30 8:00/9:30
St Maarten 6:00/8:30 5:00/6:00
Tortola 6:00/8:30 2:30/3:45
Castaway Cay 10:00/11:30 3:30/4:00
Port Canaveral 5:00/8:30AM

Straight from DCL. Hope this helps clarify. We sure have a short time in Castaway Cay. I think I may just snorkel and go lay on the beach.
THANKS!

I saw this video of the Phantom regiment and know some of you will totally appreciate the control involved in it.
There is another video out there were they hook up a heart monitor and a few other things and record their air intake and pulse. It is pretty interesting; they say that the rates are equivalent to that of a marathon runner.

Per person either 25 Euros for the 10:30 Am tour or 30 Euros for the 8:30 AM tour. As previous post mention, cable car, tobbogan and lunch extra. I am trying to get a consensus as to which one people want to do. I think it is a really good deal.

Just my thoughts..
:surfweb:
Thanks - I think we are leaning toward the longer tour. Will confirm with Kimmy. Also, If we want to do the wine tasting we need to sign that up on our own right via their website as that is not part of Daniel's tour?

John and I are thinking of doing a private tour in Gibralter to Pillars of Hercules, St Michaels Cave, Highest Point with Barbary and Apes and Great Siege Tunnels. Does anyone want to join us?
Kimmy and I might. We are planning on doing Gibraltar on our own. Just interested in doing the cable car (if not too busy) and do the Siege Tunnels and St. Michaels cave, and figure we will see the apes as well doing those 2 things.

OK! So we were away for the weekend...and it was not practical to get up at 5am UK time..and try to pay for an Internet Access..that was not even available to pay for.........so we missed everything. No bookings for Palo, the nights we wish for....nor even nights we not wish for. Checked just.............and rubbish bookings left.
Am so not happy.........Surely there must be a better fairer system?
:-( :confused3

If you and Kimmy want to do the wine tasting, individual tasting ressies should be made at Old Blandy's at 4:30 PM. Here is the website: http://www.symingtonfamilyestates.com/winelodge/book_tours.htm
it is an additional 5 Euros per person and you make your own ressies on the site.

Let me know if you are interested in the private tour. If we get a few more besides the four of us, I will inquire about special pricing. I got a rate which was a bit high but it included all the admissions and transportation to and from the ship.

I'll be in line with you!! I have a Dooney/WDW sketch tote that I've never used, but I love the DCL pattern! :lovestruc

I agree with you completely. I was online for 1 hour and 42 minutes before I was able to complete my bookings. I kept getting kicked off before I could complete the booking. There were no Palo bookings available for the times I wanted even when I first signed on at 9:00 California time as I went there first.

I think DCL is assuming that most people book on the ship or something. From most reports, people once on the ship were able to get the booking they wanted by STANDING IN LINE. How 20th century is that? :rotfl::rotfl:

Even after all the complaints, DCL seems to ignore this problem. I know it is a difficult software fix but come on!!

For anyone thinking about this tour, I recommend looking at this site for some tour possibilities: http://www.madeira-web.com/PagesUK/tourmap.html.

BREATHTAKING! Wow. Thank you for sharing! I am even MORE excited now!!

I'm so sorry Lyn. Keep checking over the next several weeks. People will solidify their plans more, thus dropping the "maybes".

On a happier note, how was Bon Jovi?!!!! :lovestruc

I wonder how many Palo bookings people in concierge actually can book? That could be a part of the problem. For goodness sake, there are so many sea days this cruise there should be space for every cabin to have one of each booking, particularly considering many people don't even want to go to High Tea.

I suppose it wouldn't be fair if people who don't have internet access and can't book till on the cruise embarkation day didn't have any chance because it was only open for online ressies though.

I was able to log in (and get in) at 9:03. Went directly to Palo there were only a few brunches left, but everytime I tried to reserve one it would tell me that there were no openings left at that time, try another. I kept trying, but I couldn't get anything:sad2:

However, we did get all the other excursions we wanted. So i guess we'll be joining the Brunch Line on arrival.
