Great cast!! Good news that she wants to back to the gym!! Glad the break was not too severe!!

Just my thoughts...
:surfweb:

Becca is adorable with the cast! Isn't it great to be a kid - she wants to get right back in the gym. If I broke my arm at the gym, I would NEVER go back! In fact, I would be done exercising at a gym altogether - even exercising altogether.

I am in awe of all you organised people...I have done nothing really yet......I think it's because I have time on my hands so think...'oh that's ok I have plenty of time for that'.................and then run out of time!:confused3:rotfl2:

With a week to go I shall probably be running round like a headless chicken!:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Well, there isn't too much completed on my list... But I feel a bit more in control with it... Now, come Tuesday night before we leave I will be a basket case! Wednesday AM I get the attitude it is what it is... Knowing when the limo will be here, I will time a mani/pedi and go from there to the limo to the airport - and will officially be on vacation... :)

I am watching the news and crying. There probably are not a lot of DIS people who have tracked Abby Sunderland, the CA girl that is sailing around the world. As a home school mom, my Abby and I charted her course and have read her blog every week. I am very sad and crying when I found out that she is missing at sea. As a mom, I cannot imagine that feeling. Okay, on to something happier. I know someone on the boards will make me smile!

I have her and her family in my prayers. I so hope that htey find her and that she is OK.

Ok I just had to ask how big is your photo printer and why are you travelling thousand of miles with it :) Oh and should you bring a camera for that photo printer :)

If I ever thought of taking even a small photo printer I think he would throw me over board :) He thinks I pack way to much as it is.

Me no I just like to be over prepared. He has pointed out that each year we pack duct tape and in 5 cruises have never used it.

Of course the year I do not bring it we will need it :)

Now if I left packing up to him everything I mean everything would fit in of lugguage bag. That is just a scary thought

The printer weighs about 3 lbs and it is a new toy. I am bringing it so that I can print photos of CMs and us and leave them behind. Last year Becca curled up on a chair in Lumiere's and fell asleep. Pascal saw it and thought that she was adorable (we didn't dispute this...). Later in the cruise he gave her a Chef Mickey and a certificate. We had a friend cruising 4 weeks later, so we sent him a photo of her with all of her Disney babies - including Chef Mickey. Pascal remarked that the one thing he loved to get was photos of the people he meets. We heard from many of the CM's that they wished they got photos... So, that is one thing I want to do this cruise. :lovestruc Glenn has the camera covered, so...

I always think duct tape when packing for a vacation and NEVER remember it... Ive only missed it a couple of times, and never on a cruise...

Just curious who the camera people are ?? What I mean is , whos bringing the gear ??? LOL

Ill be bringing my Nikon D-90 that I got specifically for this trip , but actually got it early cause I went to the Philippines in Dec ....

Little Olympus camera here, but it is waterproof, so I can take great pics underwater. We also have a bigger Kodak and another Olympus. Will probably be bringing two cameras.

HEY UK DISERS

I was passing "Cash Generator" shop today, which is where i always get my overseas cash (as i believe it offers a better rate than any of the other main suppliers) and noticed a sign in the window stating that read

"Reserve your currency upto 7 days in advance and we guarantee you the benefit of any improvement in exchange rate when you collect.

Q What happens if the rate moves againt me in that time?

A Our problem not yours,"

i'm not sure if this a nationwide offer, but surely you can't loose! especially as they offer such competative rates to begin with.

just thought i'd pass the info along

I will be bringing my OLD (2005) Kodak digital. The screen is messed up so you can't see anything in the sun. So I just take lots of pictures & delete a lot. I was going to get a new one but Hoagie Pie convinced me not to because it takes such good pictures.:laughing:

It's a Cheshire Cat arm!!!!

You really need to add yellow eyes and a big grin to that cast.

Been an interesting day here. Just to mention the "highlights".....

I got a call at 9:00 am to inform me that my Euros were in. I had just ordered them at 4:00 pm yesterday! So that was a very quick delivery to the branch. It's nice to have them in hand. :)

I went down to the basement to do a load of laundry before I headed out to run errands. <Sniff Sniff> Uh oh. My thoughts immediately went to thinking the sewer backed up again. So I stopped at the doorway into the utility room, where carpet and cement meet, and turned on the light. Oh boy. There's water on the cement glaring at me. I look at the drain, but it didn't look like there was back up coming from there. So I now notice there's a trail of water....that leads to my upright freezer. UGH! It's REALLY packed, so most everything was cold, but anything not really packed in was completely thawed. So at 3:00 pm, I put a 17 pound tom turkey in the oven. Not exactly what I planned to do on a warm, sunny afternoon. So dinner will be late tonight! :rotfl:

I stopped by the library and scrapbook store for cruise-related activities. Wasn't as productive as I had hoped, but the book on Portugal that was on reserve isn't too bad.

MissMet posted on the main board that they are planning a 4 hour private day-tour in Barcelona. They'll pick them up at the airport, and drop them off at their hotel. My plans on arrival day have been to do the on/off bus. However, I'm thinking maybe this is the way to start. I have to get a taxi from the airport to hotel anyways, and the hotel said it would cost about 30 EUR. This intimate tour is 59 EUR, eliminates the taxi fare, and quickly gets me to key tourist sites. So I sent an inquiry to the tour company. I'm thinking that if this works out, I can then get back to the hotel shortly after lunchtime, rest a little (as I'm certain I'll need to), then get back out on the town to places I saw that really intrigue me, including walking the Ramblas. Anyone have insight to this private tour?

Finally, I had a new ice cream flavor today that was SOOOO good! Keylime pie ice cream in a sugar cone! Yummo! It even had chunks of graham cracker crust in it. This place makes some really unusual flavors. Cake batter is always a good one but oh too sweet!

So, back to my answer to Sarah's question first thing this morning asking us if we were working on cruise activities today.....I STILL haven't worked on my FE gifts! I did get some cruise things done though, so I can't beat myself up too much....I guess.

Time to check on the turkey...it is smelling good!

Let's review the facts:

Does he have a girlfriend? No.
Any children? No......

I rest my case :lmao::lmao:

:lmao: It's a good thing I didn't just have a drink when I read this!

....I just heard from Hadley who is back from her cruise. She had a fantastic time and said that she had a server named Agus from Indonesia and the best server she ever had.....

I heard from her, too, and I'm so thrilled they had a good time! I know it was hard on them to be forced to switch from our cruise to that one.

Restless night all around, and the strong desire to slack at work...Here is my list......

Sorry it was a restless night, Sue! I was afraid of that.

Thanks so much for sharing your list, too!

I just thought of something else for our "lists": write the credit card number and phone number to call if lost and keep somewhere in luggage....

That's another good one!

...I have done nothing really yet......I think it's because I have time on my hands so think...'oh that's ok I have plenty of time for that'.................and then run out of time!:confused3:rotfl2:

With a week to go I shall probably be running round like a headless chicken!:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

That's my fear!!! I have all this time right now, and my FE gifts should be finished, but they aren't even close! I'm great at planning, but suck at execution! :rotfl:

....If I end up being dragged to prison though I will expect all my DIS friends to stump up for my bail money so I can cruise ....

:rotfl2: :thumbsup2 Deal!

....Quite stylish! Affter getting it she wanted silly bands and a trip to the gym... I was so happy that she wanted to go to the gym that indulged her with the bands... So very glad that she is not afraid to go back... :cool1:

Awesome!!! She's full of fun fashion sense! I agree...it's great that she was so carefree about returning to the gym! What a day she's had! Candycane cast, silly bands, sucker...I bet she gets a favorite meal tonight, too! :goodvibes She's made out pretty good if you ask me!

The Cheshire Cat arm comment....I hadn't thought about that! Perfect though!

I will be bringing my Canon XSi with my 18-55 lens, 70 to 300 lens, my nifty 50 and my macro lens. i never travel without all my lenses and have the lowepro 200 backpack that makes them easy to carry.

I wish we could bring all of our lenses but with the weight restrictions on our flights we are limiting the lenses to two this time. We have a great backpack also but have to unload to make weight and carryon restrictions for our Air Berlin flight. There is no way DH is going to put any lenses etc. in baggage.

Just my thoughts..
:surfweb:

Wow, just as I finished typing my last post, doorbell rung. Mickey Mouse Club tee shirts have arrived!! It seems Zazzle is here in Bay Area, specifically San Jose.

I can't wait for DH to see the shirts. I think I bought it too big for me but better to have too big than too small. I will just use something to tie it on the side.

How fun for you!!! By the way Noel, loved the magnet Jordak did for you. Super cool!:thumbsup2

Kimberly, so sorry to hear about your freezer but the dinner sounds delicious!

Hi everyone.
I have been back from the 15th May Med cruise for just over a week now.
I am sorry I havent been on this meet thread or any others since I got back. Illness and personal stuff have just got in the way.

Jan
Welcome back. Hope all your 'stuff' has been sorted out and your feeling brighter. Your trip sounds amazing, How lucky are you, cruising twice in one year! :goodvibes

I thought I might have as I heard that word mentioned when I had contact lenses once.

I think I prefer your school schedule! 8 weeks off over Christmas would be fab with the weather so miserable over here!

Our 8 weeks is over summer, when quite often it would be too hot to go to school. My kids go to a private school with air conditioning, but some public schools that don't have air conditioning send the kids home when it hits 40 degrees (104 fahrenheit). It's not so much the high temperature, but the high humidity that's horrible. People dehydrate very quickly because they sweat so much. Am I enticing you all to come to Australia? :rotfl: We don't get that weather all summer, it tends to come in heat waves that last a few days at a time. It really is a beautiful place! ;)

Anybody doing anything cruise - related today ? I am upgrading my Fish Extender, sorting out DHs pirate costume and yesterday I bought some materials to make something for the girls so I may work on that later.
I love doing cruise-related activities .....

on a down side ... I received a parking fine for £50 for parking longer than I should on car park when I went to DD's University art show

and thats 10 drinks of the day .....

No Cruise stuff for me today, I'm going to load up the boat with food and games ready for our long weekend this weekend.
Those sneaky parking inspectors really suck! :headache:

See I would rather they brought me extra starters as usually hate dessert! In fact last time we went to TGI Fridays I had Chicken Wings for dessert and confused the waiter as the rest of the table had desserts when he brought out my wings!

That is funny. And what? Who doesn't like dessert? That should be illegal! I wonder if they will let me 3 courses of dessert only? ;)

You're all most welcome. I agree with you....the brilliant minds of people here on the DIS are so helpful! I get so excited when I learn something new from someone or when they turn the light bulb on for me!
Have fun doing your FE's, They are super cool!
I was walking around bumping into things, completely in the dark until I found you guys! Talk about turning on light bulbs! DIS lights up my life! :grouphug:

I have checked out this link and it seems that the private parking charges are not enforceable .... maybe I'll be able to get away with it.
:cool1::cool1::thumbsup2

Thanks for everyone offering to buy me drinks .... honestly you are all too kind. I don't think my liver would be too impressed if I took you all up on your offers, plus all the tasting sessions, plus the wine at dinner, plus the cocktail or two I may be tempted to try ......
Oh, your liver will get over it....eventually. :rotfl:
I'll bring you some extra Aussie choccie instead, give your liver a rest!:thumbsup2

Well I told my hubby I am taking my walker. His response was not something I can post here lol. All he was thinking about was another item to load on the plane.

Tell your DH if he doesn't want to bring your walker he can piggy back you, It's his choice........walker or piggy-back! :rotfl2:

Let's review the facts:

Does he have a girlfriend? No.
Any children? No.
Confirmed adult bachelor living alone? Yes
Does he seem to talk with a lisp some of the time? Yes.
Is it his mantra that he's one of a kind and "different"? Yes.
Is he bouncy trouncy flouncy pouncy fun fun fun fun FUN (as most of us gays are ? Yes.

I rest my case :lmao::lmao:

That is hilarious, I have a whole new love of Tigger now! :tigger::tigger::tigger:

Your basement sounds great ... but I think we need photos !!!!!

Please photo's!

Wow, even in the day of GPS. I heard on the radio this morning Australia is sending over some commercial planes to help in the search. She must be so scared all alone, Everybody need somebody! Let's hope somebody finds her!

Sue, you are so thoughtful! I really hope you take some time out to think about yourself sometimes. Or will that be in the Spa on the cruise? :thumbsup2

OK, Better go and load up the boat. I will try and keep up to date on my iPhone, If I can work it out. I am so NOT tech savvy!

How fun for you!!! By the way Noel, loved the magnet Jordak did for you. Super cool!:thumbsup2

Kimberly, so sorry to hear about your freezer but the dinner sounds delicious!

Thanks!! DH just got home from dentist and he loves the shirts!!

Kimberly, So sorry to hear about your freezer! Enjoy your Turkey though!
The key lime pie ice-cream, OMG, that sounds awesome. We can't get Key lime pie here, I bake it all the time in summer, but it's not the same. We can't get graham crackers either, I have to substitute everything! :headache:
I agree, sound like Becca is coming out on top! Good for her, If your gonna break a bone, you may aswell milk it! :yay:

Yay, that was quick!:banana::banana:
OK, No laughing, But a friend of mine makes these really funky t-shirts out of her DH vintage ones. She puts elastic in the bottom hem so they have a bit of shape, and ties up the sleeves with ribbons. They are really cute! Just an idea?
