OK - you have peaked my curiosity - what are these???

They are basically sun tan lotion in a handy bracelet. Can't tell how much they hold but they looked funky and means you can carry them on you all the time when you go out in the sun. I just thought they looked cute.

I hope this works

You are lucky, you don't have an astigmatism, so if you were desperate you could buy those glasses from the service station for $10 and get away with it. If you got the -6 or -6.5 you'd be OK! :thumbsup2

What the? :confused3

OK is that the second bit of the perscription? My full perscription is:

Sph -> -6.25 Cyt -> -1.75 Axis -> 85 on my right eye
Sph -> -6.25 Cyt -> -1.00 Axis -> 25 on my left eye

If that makes more sense.

I think they're a large hollow plastic braclet filled with sun tan cream. You wear around your wrist so you don't have to carry it and then it's always on-hand to slap on....

or maybe that should be ON-WRIST ;)

SW

Exactly! Obviously they were such well sellers that they have ended up in a £1 shop but hey!

pizbuinsunbandorangespf20.jpg

Piz Buin Sunband Orange SPF 20 SunTan Lotion 50ml
Wear this Sunband around your wrist on the beach or wherever you are, always have sun tan cream ... This is a factor 20, offering 20 times the standard protection of your own skin. ... Cheap Piz Buin Sun Band, Cheap Sun Tan Lotion, cheap sun tan cream.

Serves me right for not reading this first! They have 4 different colours - black, orange, gold and bronze and I went for Gold

Okay...not sure if you were serious or not, but I'll pass mine along. It's nothing extraordinary, but you never know if there may be something that applies to you that you need to plan for....like newspaper delivery! :confused3

We were in PC for formal night last cruise, and didn't even have table mates, but it really didn't matter. Everyone(well mostly) is dressed up including the servers and it is still an occasion. I didn't even look at the surroundings. However, it is always the coldest of the restaurants, so dress accordingly!!!!!

Oh, Bummer Sarah, yes you have an astigmatism too. No cheap glasses for you! :sad2: You're really dredging the bowels of my brain now! :rotfl2:

BTW, Kimberly, your list is amazing, I'm going to copy, paste and print! :thumbsup2

So, we have 1 more week of school before our 3 week winter school holidays. We have a different schedule to you guys, We have 2 weeks at Easter, 3 weeks in June-July, 2 weeks in September and 8-9 weeks in Dec-Jan. So......what I'm getting at is, the girls and I have 3 weeks of finishing FE's, making magnets, addressing labels, starting to pick out clothes to pack, and checking off Kimberly's list! :thumbsup2 YAY!!! :thumbsup2

So, hopefully by the time we sail we will be whole - but as we have seen with Stephens wrist injury, things are not always simple...

Not me, but Becca broke her arm. clean break with a "buckle" of the radius. Not sure what buckle means, but she has 98 days to heal... :confused3

Poor little squirt, they splinted it today and the splint makes her keep her arm bent... She is miserable... I didnt have the heart to tell her that the sack may go above the elbow OR that it is likely that she will have it for the rest of her summer break...:scared1::sad1:

CALGON... Take me away...

On a positive note, our request for rotation 1 is in, as are our palo changes... Oh - and we got the address for the port so that we can send magnets for day one ahead of time... :) Its the little things, right?! :cool1:

What rotten luck!

Hi everyone.
I have been back from the 15th May Med cruise for just over a week now.
I am sorry I havent been on this meet thread or any others since I got back. Illness and personal stuff have just got in the way.
I cannot beleive how many pages have been posted and a whole new chapter !!!.
If I have missed anything important could someone let me know please.

I have never done a trip report but if anyone has any questions about the DCL med Cruise, I might be able to answer them. :)
We had a fantastic time on the cruise and I would do the same cruise again in a heartbeat.
The Ports were mostly a good mixture of Countries and places and reminded me of how beautiful Europe is. There are so many places on the itinerary that I would like to go back too.
The Magic was lovely as ever and I think pretty full, must have been the low prices sucking us all in !!.
There was 1 formal and 2 semi formal nights (11 night cruise), most people that I saw dressed as per code. I saw plenty of Tux's on formal night.
For those who have children (or adults), there were plenty of character photo sessions and lots of characters just wandering round the ship.
We did not do any organised excursions, just went off and did our own thing, at the ports, which worked out pretty well.
I cant think of anything else, but just ask if you want to know anything.
I will now go back and try to skim through this last chapter :surfweb:.

I thought I might have as I heard that word mentioned when I had contact lenses once.

I think I prefer your school schedule! 8 weeks off over Christmas would be fab with the weather so miserable over here!

Oh Jan anything important I believe is over on page 1 of the thread. There was some discussion re-Mickey Tshirts but can't think of anything else major, oh and CONFIRM with Sue fish extender info as she's trying to get everyone to confirm their details.

Oh question - how was the food? Any menus you can share? I love food (as you will be able to tell when you meet me lol!)

Anybody doing anything cruise - related today ? I am upgrading my Fish Extender, sorting out DHs pirate costume and yesterday I bought some materials to make something for the girls so I may work on that later.
I love doing cruise-related activities ..... :woohoo:

on a down side ... I received a parking fine for £50 for parking longer than I should on car park when I went to DD's University art show :mad:

and thats 10 drinks of the day .....:mad::mad:

I am looking at the Palo menu trying to work out how the h*** you order???? I don't understand why there's what looks to be 7 different courses!

I am also trying to write a list of things I still need to do so I can get that all sorted and start ticking things off!

Bad news on the parking fine! EEEEK

That is bad news about the fine. You won't do that again though!!!

I've just bought a couple of things towards the FE gifts and ordered some sun cream online!!! Both a drop in the ocean though.

ooooooohhhhh ..... where's the Palo menu?

I think you are perfectly at liberty to have all 7 courses!!!:lmao: Though most people I think would order less that that.;)

We have had the pizza/flatbread for a starter, and another time had a starter each and a pizza/flatbread to taste and share which the server recommended. Needless to say we were already stuffed by the time the wonderful entree arrived.:lmao: The servers seem to want to keep encouraging you to eat more!!!

They usually bring an extra dessert to share too!!!:scared1:

Also there is a lovely palate cleanser sorbet thing somewhere in amongst too.

They have fantastic deals at times. There was one time when I was getting $25 certs for $1.50. I don't think I've gone lower than that - at least for getting a certificate!
The one thing you have to be careful of is that in some states they actually do expire after one year; fortunately not in CA!!!! I did note that the Shula one does not expire.
Can you use more than one at a time? Like if you had 3 $25 certificates to pay for a $90 bill? (Maximizing :scratchin

Wawa - oh how I miss thee. (Grew up in NEPA outside of Wilkes-Barre and went to school outside of Philly) Now I am craving a Wawa hoagie.
$2.99 WAWA Hoagie deal: this week features the $2.99 Cheese steak! That's what I'm getting for lunch today. And maybe a bag of Munchos too:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 on your dining rotation approach!
Great! Glad that little bit of info is helpful to you!

PRE-CRUISE ACTION ITEMS

A friend of mine in international finance gave me some advice about getting the currency right now. He said to approach it with the 50/50 hedging strategy since there's so much uncertainty right now. So I only got half of the amount I want to carry around. As the summer progresses, I'll evaluate when it's the best time for me to purchase the rest. That levels off some of the lost opportunity risk. Not only that, some out-of-pocket expenses may become more clear, and I may not need as much as I'm forecasting currently.
:thanks:Thank you again for some more helpful info. I love the DIS! :disrocks: You all are the best. I will definitely be using a lot of items on your list.

OMG I LOVE that!!! How do I get it so that I can use it? I might put it in my signature line!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH
but honestly it is no problem at all and there is no need :hug:

Fine, We'll just have to hunt you down and buy you a Drink on the Magic:drinking1
