Yes I hear that for sure. Part of the reason Jason and I get very nervous about seating with strangers is that on our first Disney cruise together (which was Jason's first cruise ever and my second cruise, but first on DCL), we got seated with two other couples without children----and somehow we got so "lucky" that we got seated with not one, but TWO couples who both had an obvious problem with be seating with a couple that was two men. One of those couples never came back to dinner after the first night. We aren't sure if they asked to switch seating or just ate on deck to avoid us. The other couple did come to dinner every night except their Palo night but they basically ignored us and made it clear they didn't want us to talk to them either-----so that was very uncomfortable for 4 nights and left us a little gunshy. On our next DCL cruise...we did get lucky and got seated with an amazing older couple who happened to have an adult son who also had a male partner so we got along with them great....and every cruise we've been on since then we've traveled with friends and/or family and been able to "stack" our tables!! :thumbsup2

Jason and I would definitely not mind linking up with folks who have late dining if we felt certain we were going to be eating with folks who were friendly and comfortable and nice----and if we were able to link with people who are also doing the B2B (like we are) that would even be a bonus!! :thumbsup2

Don't be so sure...you'll be surprised at how many kids there are in late dining. I think lots of parents find their kids enjoy the show better when they can go to the early show BEFORE dinner rather than trying to go to the late one after dinner when they may be more tired and stuff.

I guess I just don't understand people who are unfriendly to anyone that they don't know. You guys sound like so much fun to be around that it was their loss not to get to know you two.

We have so many friends of every different variety, I think it is OUR relationship with them is important, not what other people think. Maybe bing born and raised in California with many different ethnicities and sexual orientations makes me color and gender blind? :confused3:confused3

We saw many less younger kids in the later dining rotation on our NYE cruise but being from CA dining at 5:30 would be like eating lunch.

Just my thoughts...

Erik - My take on your story about your tablemates on your first DCL cruise is that those people missed out on a chance to meet two fascinating people and some excellent conversation. Whoever you link up with will be one lucky group of cruisers!

See, Erik!! I'm not the only person who thinks so! (Great minds....) I hadn't seen Melodie's post until after I posted mine!

So i'm going to sleep, and dream about that you all can speak dutch.:rotfl:

Good night

Thanks for all the well wishes. I found out I going to have the MRI next Thursday. I hope to find out good new then, but i don't have my hopes ups.

Here's more well wishes.

I agree:thumbsup2

You are all correct - Erik and Jason are wonderful friends and so much fun to be around. My cruises would not have been as great if it wasn't for the 2 of them. They are just one of my cruise blessings from the '07 TA!! It should not matter, you just want to be around nice people, enjoy the time together, share fun and a good meal! These 2 weeks, are not a lifetime, but you leave with memories to last a lifetime and friendships that last just as long.

I did something fun to got to try out one of the semi convertible Smart Carsl Even in the wind and rain, it was fun to drive. The shifting was a bit strange and I think my golf cart is bigger. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Too funny. My DBil and I both test drove one to buy, but I did not like that constant jerking when you shift. We both ended up getting a Fit. I figure if I am not going to be Fit, I should at least drive one, which is better than having a Fit.:lmao:

Ditto here!

Speaking of great minds, I sent you a friend request on FB. I see we have something in common. SU! Hope we are not bringing the same FE gifts.;)

Just checked on the DCL website and the cost of afternoon tea is currently only $5!

I will edit the prior post when I get to a desktop computer. I can't get the iPad to scroll down in the edit box to what I need to edit. :confused3
you need to check out the ipad thread on the main cruise board, lol. I though everyone how to do it over there, page 1 or 2. :teacher:

I love the iPad. It has been a lifesaver in the hospital over the past couple of weeks for family emails, but it definitely has some quirks. Hence its name-- Ziggy after the computer from the old TV show, Quantum Leap.

Pj, is the Squirt skin for your iPad? Squirt would be a good name for an iPad too! :rotfl:

Squirt is for my future iPad, PS. love the nickname I think I will use it.

Ok, I made a vow to not touch an iPad until I bought my own, but my boss thought he would be a smarty pants and send me for the Apple training on the iPad, at the head office today. While they made me tap, flick, drag, slide and pick up that iPad :scared1: I headed back to the office, and he thought he was so funny. :sad2: Then at 6 pm store close, he made me do the iPad display table and the demo units set up, so I touched, flicked, swiped, and demo'ed for 2 hrs. We are not on the B2B, but Joi and I would be willing to link dining with you. We have met some wonderful people that we were seated with and others that definitely had a problem. We are still friends with a family we were seated with in 2005. It is just the luck of the draw.

Hey guys...my DW and I are flying on to Barcelona from JFK...we have our air through Disney....Never have flown using DCL booking our airfare....now it seems some of you guys are getting their flights....how do you get them? Does DCL call and give you your flights or do you just see it on the website when you sign into your reservation?
Thanks!

Tom & Marilou

Excellent! I just saw it! Glad you said something though because I would have blown the invite off thinking "I don't know this person who says I have a right to her opinion!" :rotfl:

I do like Stampin' Up! crafting and "stuff"! If you look on the Homemade FE Gifts thread, right there in Post #1 you'll see some familiar pirate SU! images. Actually, it might be in my "Crafty Things" photo Album on FB, too. I can't wait to see what you're crafting up!!! :goodvibes

As Debbie-Downish as it sounds, sometimes it's better not to get your hopes up, especially when it comes to an injury. When I went in for my second ACL reconstruction surgery, I thought I was just having a simple scope performed. I knew there was a chance that my ACL was torn, but my doctor was pretty sure that it wasn't. I came out of surgery nearly 3 hours later with the nurses in the recovery room telling me they had to reconstruct my ACL. I felt down to feel for the tell-tale brace, and there it was! My first thought was "crap" - it's a long recovery period from an ACL surgery.

Here's hoping that everything turns out good for you! :wizard:

:mad::mad: Erik, when I hear things like that it just makes me SOOOOOO mad! One of my best friend's is gay. He was in our wedding as a groomsmen and his partner also attended the wedding. It was the first time I had met his partner and I was so excited to finally meet him! Dave and I both talked about that we didn't want him or his partner to feel like they couldn't dance at the reception. He and Gene (his DP) danced slow and fast songs together and it was just wonderful!

Erik, My husband and I would love to share a table with you and Jason as we are on the b2b. I do not know how to link dining ressies, so PM me so we can do this, it would be our pleasure to share a dining table with the both of you. Although we don't dress for dinner as well as you and Jason will, except on the formal and semiformal nights. I hope that will not have an impact on your decision to dine with us.

Yes, dream on:lmao:
My grandmother and mother immigrated from Glasgow in 1921. My mother was only 7 so she became very Americanized except for a few words. But my grandmother never lost her "Scottish" so talking with you will bring back fond memories. I am looking forward to meeting you.:goodvibes
I am also very much looking forwrd to meeting you guys.

NO that is just embarrising to the human race. That is just so so ridiculous, pleae tell me you laughed at them eventually.
Not sure what that means? Care to translate

tut-tut ( ) intr.v. , -tutted , -tutting , -tuts . To express annoyance, impatience, or mild reproof: 'those fussy fellows at the State Department.

We have a lot of smart cars in edinburgh, you can park them end on in the street.

I have a busy day, going to hang the washing out, go to gym, go to edinburgh to visit friend who has had baby, then clean the house for visitors tom.:laundy:

Hello everyone!
I'm happy to be back on the boards after a long while. DH and I are taking our 10th Disney cruise with you all. We were lucky enough to be on the last WB TA in 2007 and are looking forward to this one even more so. We'll be taking it to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary which is actually August 3. We're staying at the Hilton Diagonal Mar Friday night and hope to see some of you there. We had to book it on our own because Disney's portion was sold out. It actually turned out for the best because we're using DH's Hilton points for the room. I'll do my best to catch up on the thread but am happy to be connected with you from this point on!
Cheers!

Welcome Back Lisa Marie, I hope my DH and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary on a DCL cruise, We are at 11 years, nearly half way there. :goodvibes

If you have any modifications or want to be included on the list, please send me a PM!

We are arriving on the 17th, just in case your anal like me and like to have all the little boxes filled on you beautiful spreadsheet! :thumbsup2

That's the only thing where i'm having a problem, sitting whit strangers on a table. Because last time we had a family that was not that nice. We can speak english but we must think what we going to say back to our tablemates. So that takes time and they didn't understand that i think.

So your not the only couple how has problems whit that, and you can speak English.

Connie:scared1:

Connie, we are looking forward to meeting you, if you can understand Aussie english! And if your lucky enough to hear one of my DD's never ending stories you will see where we get out patience from. :rotfl:

When we took a cruise on Norweigen (it was our first and we learned quickly ;)) we had to sit with strangers. As I have said, I am shy at first. These folks were not nice at all and I barely spoke. Flash forward to the airport after the cruise. We were sitting behind them in the terminal and the woman was trash talking about me to another woman. I stood up so the friend could see I was staring and miss big mouth looked up at me and shut up. I learned quickly, that some people have no class and it is all about them. Had she not been so self absorbed, she would have seen I was either quiet or shy. I say, shame on those folks who treated you so poorly. I also believe what goes around comes around.

I'm a HUGE believer in Karma, that lady would have got it back 10 times worse. ;)

That is just horrible! I cannot believe there would be people like that. I figure no matter who I sit with, I can make conversation and have a good time. I am just worried that the people I sit with won't want to talk and that would be awkward for all 2 weeks. I can always get seating changed, but then I would feel weird. We have to make sure this does not happen on The Magic - everybody on these boards WILL have a good time - no GREAT time!

No, AMAZING, FANTASTIC, FABULOUS, AWESOME, AMAZING, MEMORABLE and GLORIOUS time. :thumbsup2

The concept of "American English" is kind of funny when you consider Southern drawl, California "valley," mid-West, New Yorker, etc. I understand Dutch better than I understand Bostonian!:rotfl:

Add some Aussie slang from us!!!:)

scottish, its so funny, we speak way to fast, I am better than the others in my family because I work in Edinburgh, If I spoke "fife" nobody would understand me.

I have a scottish friend, I can never understand her, I can't even understand her text messages let alone her super fast talking!:confused3

Well, I don't know if we should sign up for linking our dining or not. We are late dining. Since we are on mountain time it's not as late for us. I thought this way I wouldn't have to change the kids schedule so much. Anyways, I doubt anyone else with little kids will be at this dining. So, not sure if anyone would want to sit with us?

We are late dining and we have DD8 and DD9, we have linked with some friends already, but make sure you link with the DIS group and we'll all be in the same general area. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the well wishes. I found out I going to have the MRI next Thursday. I hope to find out good new then, but i don't have my hopes ups.

Good Luck!

Funny story, We have some close family friends ( I kid her that bathing with me as a kid turned her Gay, :rotfl:) that got married (not legally) here a few months ago. It didn't even occur to me to explain to my 2 DD that it was 2 girls getting married. So we go to the wedding, the girls walk down the aisle and DD8 whispers to me "Mum, Is it a gay wedding", and I say "yes darling, it is", she has a little giggle and doesn't bring it up again (BTW, don't know where she'd even heard the word Gay? School!). Until....after school on Monday the teacher says to me "So, I heard you went to a wedding on the weekend, Thanks, I had to explain to the entire grade 2 class what gay was!". She's a great teacher and wasn't upset with me, just thought it was funny that my DD was so casual about her weekly Show and Tell story being a 'gay' wedding. :lmao:

It reminded me of my stick shift days. I kind of liked the car, but have lots more cars to consider.
