I've been watching the availability every day. Well, I've been watching the pricing every day, just to see if the rates drop at all. Cat 12s are no longer listed. Not sure if that means they are full, or if DCL is repricing them to offer a sale? For the 2007 WBTA, the Cat 12s went on sale right before the 90 day mark. I switched from an 11 to a 12, saved $2k, then got upgraded up to a 9! So I'm keeping a close eye on it to see what kind of pixie dust shows up this time.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you to get a better deal!!

Are you flying out of SFO? We fly out on Monday, Sep 13. I am not sure what time I am going to have the limo pick us up as they are saying 3 hours prior to flight departure time. I think I am going to wait closer to the cruise date to see if that restriction is still in place.

Just my thoughts....

Originally I was doing this too but on the EBTA they dropped the price at 89 days so no one previously booked could switch! I guess they cottoned on to us cheapos from the WBTA in 2007 lol!

DisneyVegas1 has graciously changed the content of Post #1 to have the most current and accurate Lanyard information. There is a link there now to the spreadsheet of current lanyard recipients (so as we move forward you can continue to doublecheck the accuracy of your information, etc. and once you send me your room #'s when you get them you can check the list to make sure they get entered correctly, as well). In addition, I have included a brief description there about how latecomers to our group may still be able to access lanyards......so if new people join us (as they inevitably will) please continue to refer them there and encourage them to contact me if they want lanyards!

(Also, sometime soon su_kraft and her husband are going to work on putting the same information, including the link to the spreadsheet, on the lanyards page of the website so hopefully we'll be able to catch as many folks as possible!)

Not sure where I'm flying from. I originally booked air through DCL out of Oakland. I checked all 3 airports and Oakland was cheaper by a few dollars and is actually the easiest for me. I have since dropped the air because of the uncertainty about my trip. Once I decide who is going, then I'll price out air options and my even add DCL air back on.

There's still hope. The Med right before us dropped their prices on a few categories and some of our B2Brs were able to cash in on it.

We are going on United out of SFO using miles. It was such a good deal we could not pass it up. You must live in the East Bay as we either go from SFO or SJC.

To all my fellow WBTA Europeans …

I think we’ve only got English and German participants here (but I’m sure you’ll correct me if I’m wrong)

It’s Eurovision Song Contest time again!!! :cool1:

I know you either love it or hate it, but in less than an hour it’s the first Semi Final.

Good luck if your country is appearing…

Seems like the smart money may be on Azerbaijan this year, I'm not holding out much hope for the Great Britain entry i Think it's drivel.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL

SW

I'm in the 'hate' camp!!!! But, I just love how people have Eurovision parties etc. A lot of fun, and a great family occasion. What a load of rubbish the whole competition is though.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hey guys...my DW and I are GTY 11--had a little time today and attempted to book every category available.....when you got to pick a stateroom it comes back that GTY is only available. This is from category 4 through 12....why don't they make any available staterooms available on the website? We are hoping that they will upgrade us (please) and was just curious why no staterooms are available.
Thanks.

Come See Me List

As Kimberley suggested I'm getting together a Come See Me List ....Also can people let me know anything they would like on the Embarkation "Don't forget" list

Thanks so much for including these topics, Sarah!

I've been watching about every other day myself purely out of curiosity (as well as watching the seating on my trans-Atlantic flight to make sure no one has taken the seat next to me yet!!). I remember looking at the CHEAP rates for the 2007 WBTA every day at work on my lunch hour! It was SO hard not to hop on the ship with that sale. Unfortunately for us, I'm sure DCL will make sure they are more timely for their benefit this time. :) HOWEVER, I really hope that you will get that great rate to really make you feel better about going in the event your DS backs out!!!

Erik, thank you much for your time and providing the updates to us!

I asked someone who recently stayed at the Le Merdien for a review and this is what they posted.

From the main board:

Le Meridien was quite nice. Bed was super comfy and it was really quiet, but just off Las Ramblas, so close to most everything. Concierge was helpful in getting us to a family friendly Flamenco dinner show (which was outstanding). The bellmen were great about helping with luggage, getting us cabs, directions, etc. Walk in shower (no tub), flatscreen TVs (one in the bedroom, one in the bathroom), coffee in the room, free wi-fi in the lobby...We'd definitely stay there again. Lots of families and DCL people there, obviously. Nice to have the DCL reps there for questions.

I can't say it felt like an authentic Spanish experience, which would be the only negative I could think of. It was a modern, upscale hotel. We'd been travelling for 10 days at that point and couldn't have cared less about having an authentic experience once I saw that walk in shower, lol!

Keep the presentation short 2-3 minutes with pics of good looking girls in bikinis and beers.:rotfl2:
Sign up DH!!!:lmao:

I'm with the other Lyn lets hope for better please! Bust is not an option! Im stressed enough!
Bust is not an option for ba, my point was that it will be sorted surely, it better be!
Fellow TA cruisers....I only wish we had some more information from Disney. I know that it is standard not to get flight info or GTY room assignment this early....but I check every single day.....sometimes twice....OK....sometimes 3 times....I myself is a little apprehensive since this will be the first time I will be flying for almost 9 hours....I am much better with the 2 plus hour flights from JFK to MCO.....anyway.....we are looking at the excursions and will need help when it comes to the money over there....my DW is very excited...we booked this over 2 years ago and she cannot wait....me.....excited but not looking forward to the transportation stuff....when I get on the Magic I will be very relieved and confortable since it will be like we are home. Looking forward to relaxing for 2 fabulous weeks and meeting a lot of new people.

:rotfl: I loved Terry Wogan, he was hilarious, really made me laugh, he was SO cheeky, we would never win even if we did have the best song.

I think it is so they can jiggle everybody, give upgrades, sell any cabin that folk will buy basicly and then fit everybody in.

Sometimes rooms come up. I think they stop showing when that category reaches a certain % of capacity but I'm not sure what capacity it would be. I would assume aroun d the 60% mark

LOL Ah I see Lynne! Panic just set in! See panic over everything I do!

I agree well never win even with the best song!

I forget how many of you are staying at WDW after the cruise, but if you are here on Saturday, the 9th of October, Animal Kingdom is having a scavenger Hunt. This is the second year, Mouse Planet is hosting it and our second year doing it. If you want to look it up or check it out, here is the link:

http://www.mouseplanet.com/mouseadventure/event_info.php

It was a lot of fun, but I forget how much it costs. It takes up the whole day.

I get very claustrophobic in the split bathroom. Even though the single bathroom is smaller than the two halfs of the split bathroom put together, it feels more spacious.

I think with 4 of you, it will be easier with the split bathroom. There is just the two of us and we cope just fine with the single bathroom. I explained above what the issue is. It is just me being silly, but I was just terrified of the split bathroom on our second cruise.

If you "diet" you have already lost. I am the queen of failed diets and in the end I just gave up. I always said I would do something about my weight if it started to affect my health. Well, this happened late last year. I joined a gym and started to eat healthily. I have worked out how I can make healthy versions of my favourite dishes. So I am not really missing anything and therefore this is sustainable pretty much indefinitely. I had amazing results with this. I also on purpose cook far more than we need for a meal and the rest is put in Tupperware boxes and in the freezer. Every morning I take one out of the freezer and by the time I have my meal break at work, it is defrosted. I used to live on ready meals at work and this is so much tastier and also better for me.

I am rapidly getting towards being ready for the cruise. My target date for being completely done is mid July, but it might happen before them. With all my previous cruises I had a last minute panic, but this is not going to happen this time.

I have ordered all the t shirts that I am having printed for the cruise. I have ordered the items for the Fish Extender that I had personalized for the cruise and 3 out of 5 have been delivered. Two of the t-shirts should hopefully arrive today. I have ordered the supplies for the Fish Extender gifts that I make myself and I should be able to get started with this by the weekend. I can't wait as I am really excited about the projects. I have all of my semi-formal dresses and I am just waiting for my formal dress. Most of my magnets are done.

I have to order embroidered pillow cases to have signed by the characters. I have to get some Pashminas to go with the semi-formal dresses. I have to set up a video appointment to get my custom jewellery for formal night sorted out. I need to get some new luggage and I have to finish off the last of the magnets. So considering that I have 3.5 months left, that should be doable. Can anybody tell that I am excited?

Corinna

Thanks for the info about the bathroom. I agree, with 2 the larger space would be nice, but with 4 I think we need the split bathroom (especially with 3 girls!).
Diets just suck! It really is DIE with a t at the end! What you are doing sounds so much more pleasant, especially long term. I train 3 times a week with a trainer, but can't quite get my eating under control, I need to spend more time preparing. I know what I need to do, I just have to DO IT!!:rotfl:
You sound like me in the planning process, Thank goodness we haven't had any guest staying, because the entire spare room is dedicated to cruise preparations! I am currently working on my FE's, so much fun.
I got my pillowcases from gradysmommy on ebay, her stuff is fantastic, she is a DISer.
Well....looks like you won't have a last minute rush this time, you sound pretty prepared. :thumbsup2

I'm with the other Lyn lets hope for better please! Bust is not an option! Im stressed enough!

ME 2!:scared1:

Also, did not want to quote everybody, but agreed with everybody about husbands/boyfriends not being excited until the day of. I laughed so hard because mine is the same way. He isn't coming on this trip but I go through the same thing. I will have to say, he is not comfortable until he is UNPACKED on the ship. We took a cruise in September and did not get our luggage till AFTER the sail away party. He looked so tense and upset. He was worried and when he finally unpacks, then he is on vacation. This is very unnerving for me. I usually do all the planning and fun stuff and he just comes along for the ride and loves everything - so that I am grateful for. IF he was coming on this cruise, he would definitely attend the powerpoint presentation. At least reading all the posts didn't make me feel like I was the only one with the non-planning husband. DH always tells me that he is involved with work, lots going on before then, can't think of anything else - maybe that is the case with some of your husbands.

That's the same response I get, too busy at work right now, can't think about it. He's always happy with what I plan though.:thumbsup2

9 hours........try 34!!!!! Believe me, when we get on the Magic we will be sooooooo relieved. With the BA strikes, Ash cloud and just sheer logistics of getting there, I will be happy to just get there no matter what state we're in!
So looking forward to 2 weeks of R & R!!!:goodvibes

Gus and I have been doing Mouse Adventure since 2005! In fact, we just did one this past Sunday at Disneyland!! We were also at the first WDW one last year (which is my favorite so far!!). We were team Kungalooshed! Anyhow, it's a lot of fun but it's also a lot of work so if anyone is interested make sure you read all the tips first and plan on it taking up most of your day!
Oh and Good Luck!! :rotfl: We are pretty bummed that we have to leave 4 days before the next WDW but at least we can still do the Disneyland ones!

OMG! We were Eptrotters! Did you eat the sauerkraut or drink the soda? It was a lot of fun. I wish you were doing it this year. We came in 3rd place and won the UP video! How fun, I will have to look at the pictures again.

I am just closing out the Medicine List for Sarah to put in her Navigator and wanted to list the thingss that no one has claimed to find out if someone would like to bring it or if we don't think it is that important. Just let me know. The list is:

Throat Lozenges (Halls, etc)
Pepto
Alcohol Swabs

That is it! I think we have everything else taken care of. Let me know what you think so I can get it to Sarah by tomorrow. She is probably already frustrated with me because I told her I would e-mail it on Monday. Sorry Sarah:worship:
