I see that a part 6 thread has already been started :confused3 ....did you all want this thread closed so that part 6 can be utilized?
Thanks

Not yet - we want to put planning details on page one first.

Thanks!!

We should hold a class for all the non-planner husbands in the terminal. Divide the class up and several of us can teach sections, 3 mins or less per section and lots of pictures or they will lose interest;

Dis Meets
Ports
Meals
Sea Day Activities
Drink Tastings
Special guests
MISC.
:teacher:

or perhaps a powerpoint presentation that they could play on the plane(s), lol.

I was on the WBTA back in 2007? 2008? The first time it came back, and we did not plan anything in Gibraltar. We ended up getting a van on our own and had our own mini tour. I can't rightly remember the amount we paid but I do know that it was quite a bit cheaper than DCL. I believe we went into the rock, the Gates of Gibraltar and even a small visit with the monkeys which I HIGHLY suggest you don't touch and then after we got dropped into town on our own. We were able to walk back on our own from town and we had PLENTY and I mean PLENTY of time to sit on the deck. We didn't venture very far and Gibraltar was easily done on your own. And pretty safe (if you don't touch the monkeys) Someone actually allowed their 3 yr old to touch one and got bitten so they can bite. Also, a woman put a banana in her pocket on the advice of her tour guide and the monkey almost literally pulled her pants off trying to get at the banana. So I advise against it. I'll see if I can find any old pictures and post them.

OH yeah, you can watch the planes leave from inside the Rock of Gibraltar and its exciting as they stop traffic on both sides of the road to let planes come in and out. Our guide did tell us that one or two planes have actually overshot the strip and ended up in the ocean. Funny but its not. You'll know what I mean when you see the strip.

:woohoo::woohoo: Hi Monica! :woohoo::woohoo: I just got on today myself! Yippee!

We were there with you and it was cheaper. We had time to shop a little in Gibraltor as well as sit and have a fish and chip lunch. Then we walked back to the ship.

The vans were sitting right outside the terminal and I think they take 6 people at a time. Our guy stopped mid way up so we could see the view of the sunken ship, morroco, spain and the straits. I was awesome. I also agree with not touching or feeding the monkeys. They are cute, but can be vicious.

Watching the planes take off and land was "interesting" It is just something you have to see. We really enjoyed and felt relaxed in Gibraltor.

Great idea. I may do something like this for DH. He can watch it on the plane and refresh himself everyday so he knows what is going on. Great thinking!!!!

You DID NOT just call us "HOTlanta"!!! :)

Thanks for making and keeping up this list. It's awesome.

Good to know. On a related note, we're going this week or next to get Tristan's (our 8 month old) passport.

Alex

I try like heck to never use the HOTlanta statement. This past weekend was just so miserable... Although I have to admit that I am not sure what Billy Payne said to the Olympic committe about the heat in July... Cause if this weekend was an idicator we are in for a scorcher...

If the Google Map is right, you are in the Roswell area - yes? If so, then you were in the muggy heat with us... When are yoiu flying out?

I like the list... But we need to moves drink tasting to the top to peak their interest and not talk about meals until the end so they have to pay attention... So, I guess that means only 2 groups... Sheesh... What is it with the DH's anyway???

My DH likes to work on spreadsheets and magnets. The rest he leaves up to me. I forward him all my plans and he puts them on spreadsheets. We are probably the only people you know who have three computers in their bedroom!!

Kinda like Xmas. I do all the shopping and he does all the wrapping...

Just my thoughts..

Cindy, I just wanted to let you know I got the date and have it added for you! :)

I've had an enjoyable afternoon stuffing FE gift bags! I also got to use the customized rubber stamp I purchased back in December 2008 for this cruise! It's a good day and GORGEOUS outside! Hope everyone else is having a great start to the week!

I thought I read here that English is widely spoken and that we will be fine not trying to learn the local languages. :confused3 Do I need to get Dennis going on learning Catalan, Spanish and Portugese??

I think it would be nice to learn all 3 languages but I am concentrating on updating my California Spanish to Castillian Spanish.

Well, we used to have two computers in the den, but one got moved. Now we have one in the den, one in DS1 room, one in DS2 room, one in master bedroom, one in living room, DS1 has laptop (usually in his room or living room) and I have a laptop (usually in living room). DH is a computer tech, can you tell? He started expanding our computer system back when computers were starting to be able to talk to each other and he needed to know how to do that for work. I think it's a little out of hand. :surfweb::surfweb::surfweb:

However, I'm the one doing the magnets. :rolleyes1

Since all the kids have left home, we only use the computers in three bedroom. We actually have three notebook computers in bedroom but only use two and one desktop. In garage, we have original IBM PC, TRS 80 and original Mac that we have saved for posterity. DH also serves at IT guy at his company and we get to try all kinds of new stuff. He has made each one of our GK's build a computer and load the software to appreciate how a computer works. We are wireless throughout the house so it doesn't matter how many computers we have, they seem to all run at the same speed.
