The good news is I have been accepted to nursing school:banana::banana::banana::banana: I have been taking prerequisite classes for the past year toward this goal.

Now the bad news, school starts July 12, so I will officially be cancelling this cruise later this morning:sad1:

I know you will all have a wonderful time on the cruise, and I'll be thinking about all of you come September!

Well done on being accepted to nursing school, but such a shame about having to cancel. The same happened to me back in 1966(:scared1:) when I had to cancel a planned vacation to start nursing.

Sounds great, only who will look after my kids??? :rotfl:

Oh cool, So I'll bring PAL Mickey?:goodvibes
I'm leaving my kids at home! That way I can be knocked out on the flight!

Also, please bring your Pal Mickey. OMG, Terry's is so cute. He has as many outfits as she does.:lmao::lmao:

And, perhaps, more importantly: My Lady Wife and I are now FULLY PAID IN FULL (and completely, too).

What's more, I'm celebrating (if that's the word) my 60th birthday (although the birthday itself happens the month before).
:welcome: to the club! It's our birthday too! Happy 60th. You can join the offical geezers club and skip the geezers in training. (do not abbreviate!):cool1::cool1:

Wow! After reading 20 pages tonight I'm finally caught up. We are paid in full now too! Yeah! My husband let me fly home to see my parents over mother's day. Then he came down sick. Probably from trying to keep up with the kids. :)
Hubby get well!:goodvibes

Hate to tell you this.....but if you're worried about kids on your cruise, you probably shouldn't have booked a Disney cruise!!! :rotfl: There are going to be kids and they are going to be excited, and even the most well behaved kids can get a little unruly when they are dosed up with Mickey Bars and Disney excitement!!! :rotfl: I have 2, they are usually pretty good kids, but I can't guarantee you don't witness a folded arm pout or sugar induced giggling fit :scared1::scared1::scared1:
And then there are the really obnoxious kids, running around the ship in Mickey ears and Mickey slippers, hooping and hollering about making it to the spa, and the drink of the day. :drinking1: Dancing around the decks waving hello to everybody. Standing on the bow talking about how they are the queens of the world! Smiling all the time. Standing in line waiting to take a picture with Mickey and showing him their Sailor Mickey stuffie and Pal Mickey dressed in his lounging pajamas. :smickey: Or tux. Or beachwear. Silly kids bringing their Pal Mickeys and other Mickeys in their lifejackets for the drill. Giggling constantly. Dancing during the deck parties. :dance3: Crying every time they hear the horn. Standing in line bouncing like they have to go potty as they wait to see the characters. :yay:

Oh there will be unruly kids there. I know two very, very well.:lmao::lmao:

Our son, Michael, is VERY jealous that we are going to try to do this TA because HE has to finish law school! Poor baby!

Good luck to you in nursing, I have the most respect for nurses!

Hi Connie. Glad to see Chuck managed to twist your arm a little more.
YES HE DID!!! But that leaves me with making the arrangements!
Can't help with the airfares I'm afraid. Not sure if there are any direct flight from Orlando to Barcelona which would of course be the best as far as Patrick goes. Virgin and BA both go to London Gatwick. You could book through to Barcelona with BA, but would have to take a bus from Gatwick to Heathrow which would be an extra nuisance. At least with an American airline you would probably be doing the change in the US and not a foreign country.

Thanks for your help! We'll be in touch...... I know there are companies that do pickups at the airports....we might do that, unless we decided to fly through New York City JFK.

Congratulations from another Nurse!

Sad re cruise, but I'm sure there will be another one.....especially one to celebrate when you qualify!
Good Luck
Lyn

:lmao::thumbsup2:rotfl2:
Ha Ha Ha...Wonderful! My sort of kids then!!!! :cheer2:

That would be hard work for you. Would it be possible to have a group leader perhaps for you to inform of changes, then that leader inform their group? Perhaps each group leader could have a dry wipe board and could put the changes on there and the group call by and note them?
This would be ideal! I guess as we get further into this I will see who wants to take which group! I am still Ok as a first contact the day of boarding as I know we wont be upgrading... :)

Put me into this category as well. My kids are very excited about going on this trip. And, while we try to keep them from eating junk food all the time, the sheer excitement could lead to a melt down with my little one. My older (is 13) will spend most of the time with the Ocean Quest group. I hope that he contines to be the polite young man that I know he can be. And it prior cruises are an indicator, any unruliness will be in our cabin. I really hope it wont be an issue and he is the history buff of the family and is researching ports and learning the local history and customs.

Who is it who is on the London Heathrow to Barcelona flight on Tuesday 14th September at 3.25pm? I know there is someone, but I have forgotten. We must say hi!!!

Congrats on being accepted to Nursing School. I know we will miss you on this cruise. Didn't we take the same Mexican Rivera cruise in 2005?

Put my daughter in the same category as your son. No need to worry, but do kids with parents have to worry about the people without kids and a few drinks!!:dance3: I heard the only problem on the WBTA last year was that some parents didn't tell their children to sit down during dinner so they would run around the tables. That is the only issue I have ever heard of, of course I am sure there are more. Since I am Captain's Dining, I think I need to worry more then the people with Crew Dining!

CACruisin - Congrats on Nursing school!!!

I should have also mentioned that apart from my DD8 and DD9, I have a 41 year old that has trouble containing his excitement sometimes, he can also be a little unruly at times, especially after too much sugar (from the bourbon and coke), that 41 year old is my husband. :lmao:

:lmao::woohoo:

Well, it's not us but as you and John leave the plane in Barcelona look over your shoulder and shout a hello! Marc and I will pick up that hello on the 15th as that will be our flight! (Yeah, I know it might not be the same plane but the thought's there, right????!!!!)

Michael

LadyPoo has cancelled the cruise, as well....just FYI.

That leaves just THREE DIS parties to contact me to confirm their info: Dis-Bits, KAP158, tigger795 & figment795 (two DIS names but traveling together).

My kids are grown. They can book their own cruise and fly themselves!!! :lmao:

My PM named Mickey Charles Mouse or Chuckie for short is just the cutest. He has double the amount of shoes that I have!!!:lmao::lmao:

When I call Stephanie, her ring tone for me is the Cruise Horn. I cry every time I hear it!!! Bring on that Drink O' Day!!!:rotfl:

Does anyone on here have any recommendations for hotels or areas to stay in Miami? We are flying back from there and thought to have just a couple of nights to have a little look around.

We have stayed in Miami a couple of time before cruises. Do you have a price range? Do you want to be in South Beach? Other location?
