I was really pleased to have gained "only" 5 pounds on the EBTA. I packed my gym clothes....but never made it to the fitness center. Somehow, I always got "lost" in the rainforest.

:rotfl2: that sounds familiar!:thumbsup2

All are welcome!!! I'm a fun-kind-a guy, if I do say so myself (unfortunately, I do have to say it myself; can't find others to say it with me!)!

:rotfl::laughing::lmao:

Keep posting!!

Ahhhh, the RAINFOREST!!! I'm getting a pass for that.:goodvibes:cloud9:

John went to the gym 3(:scared1:) times on the PC cruise and it was very quiet in there. It was a high adult to child cruise ratio too.

Gym.... They have a gym???? ;):lmao:

I've been watching all the conversation about dinner attire and formal nights vs. semi vs. cruise casual, etc....but I haven't ever thrown in my two cents...but I'm procrastinating getting work done so now seems as good a time as any!

I know I'm in the minority here...but I'm hoping for 2 formal nights---that will give me and Jason a chance to wear our various Disney-themed tie/vest and tie/cummerbund (sp?) sets!

People who have cruised with us before know we have this "thing" about dinner attire. ;) I should preface this by saying that at home we never dress up----EVER. Jason works in a very casual job where he can basically wear what he wants to it's jeans and Tshirts or polo shirts most days. I have a "business casual" job where I have to wear khaki pants and most days I wear a polo shirt or MAYBE a collared shirt....but NEVER a tie. And we NEVER wear suits except to funerals and weddings!

On our cruises, however, we wear ties to dinner every single night----we wear DISNEY ties!! This all started on our last TA cruise, the EBTA in 2007. On that cruise we decided we were going to bring a different disney-themed tie for every night of the cruise----and the tradition has stuck! Sometimes we wear the same matching tie....sometimes we wear coordinating ties (like they are different ties but have the same character and/or film theme)...sometimes we just wear whatever ties that don't go together at all....but we wear Disney ties every night. Many of the ties I have scrounged up on ebay over the past couple years, but I have also taken to actually buying fabric and MAKING us ties when I can find fun Disney fabric. I've done the same thing with our formal wear. We have one set of mickey mouse vest/bowties that we bought...but I have since made us several different matching sets of ties and vests or cummerbunds----Mickey Mouse, Disney Princesses, Little Mermaid, 101 Dalmations (that's the photo of us in my signature), Finding Nemo, Tinker Bell----we even have a set of "Golden Mickeys" vests and ties I made after our last cruise for us to wear on Golden Mickey's night----only to find that they got rid of that show!!!(We will probably keep the magic alive by wearing that set on this cruise anyway, though).

So anyhow...we're at the point now where we own just under 50 Disney neckties and at least 6 formal Disney bowtie/vest/cummerbund sets----and we will be bringing and wearing them all....so on the B2B cruise we intend to keep the tradition alive by wearing a Disney tie or formal set to dinner every night----and never wearing the same one twice!!! (As guys we're fortunate we can launder and recycle the dress shirts & slacks and then just wear different ties----so it seems like a whole new outfit LOL).

So if you end up seated near us in the dining room(s), make sure you take note of what the tie for the day is!!

I am with you on the dressing up thing. I love it. I am in the process of getting my second evening gown sorted out and should hopefully be in the position to order this by the end of the weekend. I had a look around for Disney vests for DH. I might surprise him with a couple of those. He won't wear a suit/ jacket when on vacation, but is OK with some nice slacks, shirt, vest and tie. I hope I can find matching ties as well.

For our Med cruise, we had been told before the cruise that we would have one formal night and two semi-formal nights and I packed accordingly. When we got on the Magic, there was only one of each scheduled. The night on which the Captain's Gala Menu was served was supposed to be a cruise casual night. It was quite funny, everybody on our table had the same idea that night and we all came dressed up in our semi-formal clothes. We were in Lumieres that night as well whereas we had spent both formal and semi-formal night in Animator's Palate so it was really nice.

Since I don't know how to post pictures...here's a link to a thread that has a picture of the inside of the wonderful gift box given on the EBTA !

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=36452246&postcount=19

It'a about 6X8X3 inches, and comes in a cardboard box. There's nothing in it...but it is decorated with the various ports we visited on the inside.

Looks like this will fit in the suitcase quite nicely. I so hope that we will get this. I really loved the DVC gift on our Med cruise. Instead of the Captain's Log Book that we had received on the last three cruises, we got a beautiful wooden box (about the same size as the trunk) with lanyards and a Helmsmen Mickey pin.

I was on the cruise. We had 2 formal nights and 2 semis. The confusion arose because there was a difference between the "cruise overview" sheet (which listed 3 semis) and the Navigators (which had 2). Some people did dress up on the "extra" night as we were all unsure. I compromised and wore my best "non-dressy" outfit. Free alcohol was served at receptions on both formals, not at the semis.

I noticed that most cocktails on our cruise were non-alcoholic. I got an apple martini, but that was pretty watered down.

YEAH It's no longer just me!!! I'm so happy someone else has this issue!

LOL sounds like you got loads on the Maiden trip! I found another post that said that the people on the EBTA got a tiara and mask as well on the night that Villians Tonight was on.

That would be great if we got a tiara. We do a dress down day with a Pink Halloween theme every October for a breast cancer charity. I decided that I will go as a princess this year. My evening gown is pink and I figured I would just need a tiara. If I get one on the cruise, I don't have to buy one.

Or mine lol!

Coffee is quite bad for things like IBS as well

Everyone got them on the last cruise we went on. They were special gifts for the cruise not for just CC members. You still get a CC gift which on the EBTA & WBTA was actually not the standard gift but a document holder. I have yet to hear what people got as the CC gift on the EBTA this time.

I would love a different gift as I have two of the Castaway Club bags with keychain and water bottles now.

Lucky you, I would love a skinny vanilla latte!!! YUM!!! :goodvibes

We were just going to grab a taxi also, But am a little worried about space for luggage. There are 4 of us and 4 large suitcases and a couple of cabin bags????? :scared1::scared1::scared1: Do they have those Maxi Taxi's there??? Anyone know???? :confused3

Our DH's can hang out together, under dressed and smelling pretty! :lmao:
Oh, IBS, the Dr's has thrown that term at me a couple of times.
Cool, I go on a Disney cruise and get gifts, YAY!!! :cool1:

Good Luck!!! Sending you good luck and pixie dust!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

When we got to the port, about 70% were normal taxis, but the other 30 % were people carriers. The police did the crowd control at the port and they asked everybody how many people in the party and hailed taxis accordingly. This was really well organized/

Does anybody have know the page that had the D&B Bags with prices?
I wanted to show my wife, but then I couldn't find the prices.

Thanks

I had major sticker shock when I looked at them. I really would love one though.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2444819&highlight=d+%26+b

Wristlet $49
Tassel $150
Medium Tote $190
Large Tote $225

Most of those prices are correct, but the Tassel Bag was $160 on our cruise.

Does anyone know if the Morrisons in Gibraltar is actually the Safeway on google map?

I would assume so as Morrisons bought out Safeway.

OMG.... I just got back from the East Bound Trans and it was awesome... I went with my two friends who had never cruised before and they had a blast.... well to make a long story short, guilt set in that my dh and by 2 dd's didn't get to go, so now we have re-booked for the September return...

I am very EXCITED... I also have almost all of the navigators from that cruise so if anyone wants any information,,, I'll be glad to share.

My crew: DH - Peter, me - Denise, dd- Jessica 12, dd- Kimberly 8

This will be my 10th cruise
My DH's 9th cruise
and my dd's 8th cruise.

We also did the Trans in 2007 (the return) and so everyone is so looking forward to this trip.

Hope to see you all there.

Denise

:welcome: on board.

I bought the Birnbaum DCL guide for our first cruise in 2005 after having read the passporter book, and it was a pitiful comparison. More like a DCL sponsored ad than anything resembling useful information. At least that's what I remember about it. Thanks for saving us the money! Sorry you were disappointed. Perhaps you can get your money back?

I bought this before our first cruise in 2008 and was given the Passporter as a gift. I enjoyed reading both. So last year, I bought both. The only thing that seemed to have been changed on the Birnbaum Guide was the cover. It was totally out of date. The Passporter however had been thoroughly updated. This year I won't bother with the Birnbaum guide.

:woohoo:We've joined the Paid In Full Club:woohoo:

Today we also paid for our MNSSHP on Sunday 3rd October, never been in Florida at this time of year before so really looking forward to it, hope it not too :scared1: Shame it wasn't the 4th as thats my birthday!

Had a trial run with our cases yesterday and we should just about do it, who comes up with these stupid weight restrictions:rotfl: don't they know crusiers need outfits:lmao: (20kgs):scared1:

It's getting closer:cheer2: and we can't wait:cheer2:

Happy May bank holiday everybody:grouphug:

We were actually surprised that we coped just fine with our luggage allowance. We had less than half of what we could have had for handluggage and I had precisely 20kg for my suitcase, but DH had only 16.5 kg. We had also packed some stuff that we never used. We did some laundry on the ship, which we will be doing next time round as well. So all is good. The only problem was that I really wanted a scrapbook and some scrapbook stuff to go with it and did not dare to buy it because of the weight. As the scrapbook was one for the Med cruises, I am kind of hoping that this will be available at a discount on our cruise. If they still have it, I will buy it on the first sea day and then post it to my work address from Gibraltar.

Love Captain EO and can't wait to see it again. Every time we listen to a Michael Jackson compilation CD, we say...."Oh you come out of Captain EO to that tune":rotfl:

I'm keeping my fingers crossed well still be on for October!

I just wanted to ask, do you think they will have big taxis at the airport?
What about public transport.

How was you journey after all the planning to get to barcelona?

LOL I think I gained more than 5 lbs in 3 days with the amount I ate on my mini cruise so I think I'm going to accept coming back 6 stone heavier!

Corinna - I think we need to all employ you to come around and pack for the cruise!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I sure hope you don't, but I know I felt like it was 6 stones!!!!

Maybe we need to form a daily walking group to be sure we don't put on too much weight. What do you think?

Just my thoughts...
:surfweb:

not sure how but I actually lost 5lbs on the EBTA - I did stop eating anytime I felt full but I did eat everything I wanted to!
