We're joining you all for this cruise! We're arriving in Barcelona Thursday before the cruise, and staying at Le Meridien. Looking forward to the cruise and meeting all of you!
Welcome from Scotland.
From Mrs Gumdrop on the April 10 2010 Disney Magic EBTA "Bound for Barcelona" thread:

To all our beloved WB lurkers....

Here is the general schedule we were given at the begining of the cruise. Some of the attire requirements and times shifted a bit, but I hope this is helpful.

See the link here https://doc-0g-9s-docs.googleuserco...QtMWM2Zi00NTNjLTk1ZDEtZTJjODFjMWE2N2M4?e=open

I will do a more general post on the main thread when we gather some more media from this trip.

Thanks for that, very exciting!:woohoo:

The trip sure seems closer now that Magic has sailed over the Pond!!

I have to admit that DH and I are even thinking of doing a trial packing to see how much stuff we have to leave behind

Oh Noel, no!!!!!

Oh Noel, no!!!!!

Marilyn, my husband is thrilled with the bag restrictions. On our first trip to Europe together back in the 1980's, I had 5 bags. 3 were checked and two were carry ons.

Needless to say, the days of having at least two outfits per day plus purses and shoes are long gone!!

How I long for the days when you could ship a steamer trunk to the ship!!

Just my thoughts....
:surfweb:

New to the board, can someone help me out? I'll be on this cruise.

Hiya and welcome. Paulasillars is the person to contact about the Candy Bar exchange. Check out the post on page 1 and youll be able to find her. Shes keeping a list of people wanting to take part.

Hello again all, what a chatty bunch! I just wanted to say thanks for everyone's good wishes. My parents are off of the EBTA and in Ireland for a few days before flying back.

Are we still doing the postcard exchange? I'd love to sign up for that.

Oh was I meant to be collecting names for this? I think I was. Added you to the list!

We found some mice in one of our storerooms by the pool so we had a lot of cleaning to do this weekend. The only part that was fortuitous was also a local cleanup weekend so we could get rid of all the mess for free. However, we did have to load and haul it to the local site which was not fun.

To continue the saga, when we went to clean up, three of our bathrooms had shower heads malfunction. We managed to get cleaned up so not to make too much of an aphorism, when it rains, it pours. Our handyman Jeff came to the rescue and got all three repaired by Sunday afternoon.

However the great find was the two carry one suitcases we found which meet the Air Berlin spec 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm. which equals 21.7 x 15.7 x 7.9 and weight can be no more than 8 kg includes computer is which is 17.6 pounds. Cost with tax was $87.39 each.

DH John and I need these bags for carrying our computers, camera and lenses. Air Berlin will count a purse as a carry on so I will have to put that in carry on luggage.

OH good find!

LOL i was reading the posts really fast, and missread what you posted, i read....

We found some mice in one of our staterooms by the pool.

:rotfl:

EKKK!!!!!

I think just the 2 giant celebrity mice are enough on our cruise.

SW

LOL glad I wasn't the only one who read it as that!

hi everyone

bit of advice if you would

apparently you can buy tip credits to give at the end of the journey from disney for about 200 dollars

do not understand surely you give tips every day

any disney cruise vetrens whats the deal here and whats best buy from disney or do it myself

i often like t0o give good regular tips like mouse keeping etc

As others I'm sure have said, unlike hotels etc you don't tip every day. On the last day of the cruise Disney put little envelopes in your room to put tips in to give to your Room Host & Dining room team (3 people). There is a recommended amount and this is given on a peice of paper with the envelopes. You can give what ever you think it appropriate however and can even charge to your room.

The only thing you tip for along the way is room service as and when you use it!

My John would be delighted with restrictions!!! We have to do this cruise with 4 x 23 kg. I am sure I can do it as we will have not heavier winter clothes, and lots of lighter clothes. However, once I know a bag is under the weight limit, I look for something else to pop in, just in case!!!:lmao:

Lucky devil! I'm off most of next week as doing a mini cruise (Cardiff to Southampton) with my Mum & Sister so can't wait! Then 2 days in work and 2 weeks off to study for my exams! Oh joy!

That should be a very nice couple of days. enjoy it.

OK, now that I'm back from the EBTA, I'm ready to read this thread. It's like I can't get into the next cruise till I've sailed the previous one.

Probably the best idea from the EBTA was our "book exchange." Anyone who was interested brought some reading material. On scheduled days we'd meet in the Promenade Lounge and drop any books we'd finished onto a table and help ourselves to anything we wanted to read. At the end of the cruise we donated the books to the crew library (and were able to personally hand them to a crew person so we knew they'd make it there). The best story--one server asked about our DIS name tags. We (and another server) basically explained what it was and that we'd arranged several group activities for the long cruise. I mentioned our plans to donate the books to the crew and she literally burst into tears! She couldn't believe that we'd think of them. We did admit that we didn't want the weight in our luggage.

Very cool. I think we've already decided to do one at a specific room but happy to change this if needed. I think the idea was to donate the books at the end of the cruise like on the last WBTA. I think Paula was going to host the adult book exchange bag

I have a 1500 word assignment to write by Friday on the ideals of manliness as portrayed by the characters in Romeo & Juliet........if anyone would like to do this for me I'd be thrilled!:rotfl2:

:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Better turn my back on that sunshine outside and get on with it!:sad1:

Have a good day all!

LOL with all these lovely temps Im struggling with my revision! Not fun!
