Indeed, but we will have had a wonderful journey and will be heading to WDW so it will not be all bad. :upsidedow

That is true as well. I am looking forward to our post cruise stay at Bay Lake Tower.

I got a little teary eyed watching her leave. My parents are on the EB and I hope they are having a magical time.

I popped over about a month ago with every intention of joining our cruise thread and keeping up with things, but then work and another vacation got in the way! BUT, today I booked air travel for us to Barcelona and the cruise is paid off, so I suppose it is really going to happen and I should start preparing.

Dh and I are booked on the WB - our first cruise together and our first Disney cruise. I suppose we could have started with a nice 3 nighter to see how we like it, but where is the fun and adventure in that?

:welcome: on board

Hey all,

So, I was looking at the lists, and started second guessing myself... I stopped at 18 cabins, and about 40 people per group. Is that too many? Should I dial it back to 15 cabins? It is an easy change for me to make, just need to know if I should.

Let me know. If we want to go down to 15, I will make the change after I get home from what I am now calling our "Never Ending Renovation"...

Sue

Hey Sue!!!

I'm one of those folks who got missed fromt the original listing

(think i did something wrong somewhere along the line, totally my fault)

So i'm now a Pineapple, but i'm a little worried if we don't get many new signups the Pineapple group may end up being a little small....

As i'm currently surrounded by mountains of card, paper and fabric which i purchased for my homemade fish extender gifts i'd love it if you could reduced the groups to 15 cabins. That way i think there's more likely to end up being 3 evenly sized groups rather than 2 large groups and 1 smaller one.

Does that make sense?

I'm just hoping i don't end in a little group as i've alreaddy got enough supplies to make for 25 cabins.

By the way YOU (and all the other folks who have stepped up to organize DIS activities on this forum) deserve a BIG CHEER!!.:cheer2:

This is my first cruise and you're all helping to make it so so special.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

Can you all please come on my future holidays with me XXX

DH & I booked our first ever cruise on the Magic for the WB Panama Canal 2008.

Most people we knew who had cruised before were aghast "You're doing a 15 night cruise for your first cruise?????" Yeah - and by the time I made it up the gangway for boarding, I knew they were going to have trouble getting me off the ship. :goodvibes

And, here we are again, back for 14 more nights.

:cutie:

This is my first cruise and there's no chance so get off halfway.... unless i fancy a long swim home :rotfl:

I love Disney, so the thought of being trapped on a luxury floating Disney Hotel for 14 nights surrounded by many like minded people makes me sure i'm going to enjoy the trip.

Last weeks question:

From Pirates of the Caribbean.pirate:
What is the reason that a second bucket of water is thrown on Gibbs?

Answer: The second bucket of water was because he smelled.

So, the rankings are:
Ann (Bareacuda) 6
Stephanie (Steffy) 3
Sarah (Gismo1554) 4.5
Angie (Mrs Mork) 4
Sarah (Totallyangelic) 9
Thecooksluvdisney 2.5
Sue (Sukraft) 5
Amanda (Acourtwdw2) 1
TheDisneyGirl02 1
Heather (GOS) 5
Dolphingirl47 1
KellyJeanDVC 1

Keeping in line with the discussion of finding treasure (FE gifts), this week questions is:
How many gold medallions were there in total?

PM answers please.

you make it sound so perfect.:cool2: so near yet so far now.

OK - so the reviews are mixed here.. Equally mixed might I add...

Here is my delima. At current we have 42 cabins PLUS 2 cabins that want to be in 2 groups, for a total of 44.

If I stay with the current groupings:
Group Papaya has 18 cabins with 39 people
Group Kiwi has 18 cabins with 40 people
Group Pineabble has 8 cabins with 23 people

If I move to 15 cabin groups it looks like this:
Group Papaya has 15 cabins with 33 people
Group Kiwi has 15 cabins with 34 people
Group Pineabble has 14 cabins with 35 people
Group Strawberry is ready to fill

So, my concern is that we are close to the PIF date - will we get enough people to get group Pineapple closer to the 15-18 cabins as the other groups? Also - is there anyone else that wants to be in multiple groups? (Or is it just Paula and I that are nutty?)

In my original post about this, I wasn't going to announce all the groupings until June. Are we better off planning for 15-18 cabins and waiting until after the PIF date to set it in stone?

And, do we have anyone? maybe I need a last call post? ACK! too many decisions to make!!

Looking for advice, suggestions, feedback - whatevere!

I like the way you put that. My longest was the 15 day WB Port Cananveral to LA. It was great. We will be on for 24 days! That is a test.

Can I just say that on both of our Dec cruises, that I was just like a kid checking the FE for things. It was such fun finding things in there.!!!!!
I have a few things that I hope will be fun for other folks!!!!:goodvibes

I must admit I am a big kid also! I am more exciting about making and giving the FE's than receiving them though.
I am so Disney OCD I have already started on 3 of my FE's (for the 3 young DD's I have in my group). So...Sue, If you change us to groups of 15, let me keep the you, and ThePedersonFamily! ;)

My DH thinks I am Disney obsessed, I don't know why? It is midnight here and I have been making ADR's, organising and making FE's since lunchtime, I think maybe I should go to bed! :rotfl:

Sue

I would suggest waiting till PIF date. There would still be almost 4 months after then to reorganise things, and it does sound to be getting complicated at the moment. Could be some folk booked and down for doing FE might cancel yet, and of course others join in. There could always be a group for latecomers closer to the date if they wish to take part.

You are fantastic taking on this job - I would be a trifle stressed out!!!!!

Sue

Sue I think waiting for a little while is a good idea. I think that as it stands the 15 groups looks the way to go but there may be more people signing up later on and rather than exclude people maybe wait on nearer the time. Could do something like Maximum 18 and then work it out equally a few weeks/ 1 month before we leave?

I may have missed someone along the way, so please check and make sure that I have you listed! :thumbsup2

Hi all! I like the idea that we are coming up on a fresh new thread!

Thanks for getting it started already. It is nice to have all the information at the beginning of the thread. Looks like most of the lists have place holders there now. Are there any others we need there?

Ziggy the Ipad made it home and I am trying to get used to using an Apple product. The last Apple computer I used was an Apple IIGS 20 years ago!

I am happy to report that there IS an app so that we can "help" the runners on deck 4 keep track of how many laps they have done. We can even add a music track if necessary to help keep your morale up! :rotfl:

The terminal where that ship is docked is new since we were there 3 years ago. I seem to remember it being a lot of empty space, old buildings and offices. Cruise ships used to dock over where that navy vessel is. So, a much shorter walk into town. Good move on behalf of the Madeiran Port authorities.
