I have been so depressed about looking for jobs. I keep telling myself that I will NOT go back to retail.

LOL i've been in retail forever!! it seems, and whist i'm not in a direct customer facing role my mantra is.

"my next job will not be in retail"

Good luck in finding suitable employment.

Thanks so so much, its kinda frsutrating not to be able to pick up the phone and ask stuff.
So no hurry really to get on the ship:confused3
(.30, do you think late dinner will be over by then,( i cant mind?) when is late dinner, weve had 8 and 8.30, I think its 8.15 now, its a shame to rush the first night but I will def skip out early to wave to Barcelona.

I figure ... if you are on the ship and doing the life boat drill... you're fine.
And if I have to miss out on dessert on the night we leave Barcelona ... oh well. Im not missing out on being on deck to wave good bye.

New title of this cruise: "Drink up Me Hardies Yo Ho":rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Will add you to the beer list :thumbsup2

Lynne and Len ( OrlandotheBeagle and DH )
Angie and Dr Hugs ( MrsMork and DH )
Walt and Di ( Walt and Di )
Michael (MdWoodman)

Michael and Marc (M4Travels)

And do we have a wine tasting organiser yet ??????

Can you add GLenn and I to this one as well... I am keeping up with my current theme... Glenn should be signed up for any tasting that includes alcohol. He agreed with the theme, so...

I don't know if anyone is doing wine - and isn't there a cognac one on board as well?

If someone can point me to the right place I can take these on... i just don't even know where to start...

Depending on our dining rotation I will eat at Topsiders. If we start at PC, I would rather eat up on deck and look out at Barcelona. Anywhere else and I will be torn...

I love the new title of the cruise! Certainly seems appropriate with all the tastings we are looking to do!:rotfl2:

Lynne I think the person that emailed - cant remember who - posted their reply and it said yes we could. I am going to find it now!

Correction someone (Ann - bareacuda) called DCL and said this

I called DCL last week, the ship wont be leaving Barcelona till 9pm. 4pm is the life boat drill. So between 4 and 9 is party time and dinner.

Which I know doesn't say yes you can but I doubt they would force you to stay onboard for those 5 hours?

Hmmm... 5pm segway tour ....... or not depending on the CM, lol.

(I see that the image I captured is cut off on the left side. I will (hopefully) fix this in future posts. I'm new to the photobucket-uploading thing.)

Hi all,

I just happened to find the sheet from our Oct 09 cruise. DH did the Margarita & Tequila Tasting. Here are the samples from that cruise:

Cadillac Margarita
Cabo Wabo
Herradura Silver Los Tres Amigos Con Herradura
Margarita de Melon
Patron Anejo

Just thought I'd share.

I can't wait! We had our kids with us on that cruise so I didn't participate but since they'll be at home this time, I'll be joining in! :drinking1

OK - we are on a 14 night trip. We have 3 tastings we are working on. I think we have 3 others - wine, margaritas, cognac. So, 6 of the 14 have tastings...:cool1:

Are there others we are missing? Driink of the Day? What else is out there? :rotfl2:

Also - who has set these up before? If you get a good sized group, does DCL just acomodate us?

The only tastings I've missed on the Magic are beer (by choice) and whiskey (because the timing was bad). I posted this awhile back, but I managed to get a private cognac tasting for my party of four done on the ship because I complained about the timing (9:30 eliminates anyone in late seating IMHO, and the host agreed with me). I'm sure they'll be happy to arrange a tasting for a group of thirty or so. :lmao:

"Drink up Me Hardies Yo Ho" :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Yes, love the name of the cruise.:cool1::cool1:

If anyone is interested, show 217 of the Be Our Guest Podcast is all about ME - and its available to listen online or via Itunes. You will need to google it as I don't want to step on any toes posting the link here ;)

I really enjoyed the podcast. You did a great job. :yay: What a trip you have planned!
I don't know about the 10 days in WDW :confused3 without going into the parks though.
Touring the other resorts would be fun; I just don't think I could do it :) , not go to the theme parks, that is.
Looking forward to hearing how it turns out :goodvibes

I just wanted to pop in and say that I listened and it was GREAT! You handled it really well. I kept waiting to see if you'd slip and mention Disney underwear, but you didn't! :

Now you are giving away my guilty secrets - I confess I am actually wearing Winnie-the-Pooh knickers/panties and a Mickey Mouse bra! I won't share photos :rotfl2:

I wonder if that means some of us in GTY 11 have been upgraded ????

I just checked and we haven't been upgraded but there is still time ;)

I just listened to this. You did great.
Corinna

Great Podcast, Paula!! :thumbsup2

Thanks :)

Paula,

I just listened to your podcast, not bad for a Kiwi!
i really enjoyed it. :thumbsup2

Ok, I actually laughed out loud at this comment! :rotfl:

Hey Paula

Listened to your star appearance on “Be our guest” today, great to put a voice to your name. Can’t believe you’re planning 10 days in WDW without entering the parks.

Don’t get me wrong I love the idea of doing it and it would be so great to take time to see some of the non-park stuff, but I love the parks so much I think I’d find it just to tempting not to enter.

However I will quite often go to Disneyland Paris and spend the day wandering without a single ride or attraction, guess because I’m an AP there, and go so often I know I can always pop back.

Animal Kingdom is my favourite WDW theme park too. I know we’re in the minority, but I could spend days and days here but I love that you never know what experience you’re going to have, as it’s so dependant on the animals.

I really enjoyed the podcast. You did a great job. :yay: What a trip you have planned!

Well we found on our 2008 trip that we didn't have time for a lot of the other stuff that we wanted to do as we ended up spending a lot of time in the parks (10 day hoppers).

So we have a bunch of stuff on our to do list including shopping at some of the outlet malls, Walmart (we love it!), thrift store shopping, Mouse Surplus and will probably hit a different resort each afternoon for lunch or dinner and a swim in the pool (love the DVC pool hopping), Downtown Disney, mini-golf and just enjoying AKL I think that will easily fill in 10 days.

Then we have 3 full days at Disneyland ... ;)

Mike Rahlmann said he'd do a follow post trip review to see how we went

Received the donation thanks :) I tried to PM you but your mailbox is full.

We have our hair shaved off at 4.30pm on the 14th of May (my birthday - so at least my family know they can buy me a hat)

It will definitely be chilly by then, it was nearly a frost this morning and its very much autumn here now, the leaves are falling and we have just gone onto winter time with daylight savings.

I'll post some pictures once we've been shaved... can't believe I seriously signed up for this! :-)

Still what better cause than supporting children with cancer?
