Now, I hated being 30, didn't mind being 40 or 50, but I did NOT like being 60 one bit!!! I have now decided to forget birthdays!!!:rotfl2:

So, we will be celebrating your 40th on the PC cruise then???:banana::banana:

Well I officially turned 30 last friday and I don't know anyone else who didn't have a break down when they did. For me I didn't really care. I think 40 is when it will hit me!

We will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary the weekend before we sail! :bride: Hard to believe that it has been that long!

I had volunteered to collect names for the afternoon tea at Palo's. I think we will have to just pick a day and time and try to book then. Not sure how else to handle it.

So far I only have two on the list: su_kraft and myself!

If anyone is interested, please PM me! :thumbsup2

Hey Kathy
Count me on for Afternoon Wench's Tea at Palo's! That was one of my favorite activities from the EB REPO last year. We had about 30 ladies. I have to say the speedo parade by the hubby's made for a humorous event . . .LOL.

Thanks for coordinating, Kathy. Any sea day is great for me :)

LOL . . .Because of my position in my job at 25, everyone thought I was 30 anyway . . .so when I turned 30 it was no big deal. Turning 40 made me think, but I'm blessed that when I turned 40, my little sister turned 20, my dad turned 60 and my grandfather turned 80. Turning 40 has nothing on turning 80!!! AND there is no way I ever wanted to be 20 again . . .gads. So now, I"m enjoying being 40+ and know that it just gets better (and different) from here . . . Isn't 40 the new 30 anyway ?

What am I cheering about? The website!!!

For all newcomers please go out to:

Sue the website looks fantastic. Big thanks to Glenn for getting it up and running. I know what a big job it can be! (and we know about rescheduling baseball . . .we've lost two days of practice and it's going to rain again today . . yuck!).

Keep up the great work!!

So people can find information about the various things going on onboard I have updated Post 7 on the thread with a link to the most relevant post regarding them. Hopefully this will help me keep track of what people have agreed to help organise. Most of the things on there just need someone to collate names mainly and decide on a date (no biggy really).

What we still need is:
- Someone to organise times etc for the Hard Rock Cafe meet in Barcelona pre cruise

- Someone to volunteer to take people around on the room tour - I don't mind sorting out maps etc but cant really commit to taking people around again

- People to volunteer their rooms for people to see (diff categories are always good or unusual arrangements etc)

- Someone to decide on a date and take numbers for a PJ breakfast. That person may or maynot want to contact DCL to ask for a photographer to come along at a specified time too but this doesn't have to be organised.

- Someone to organise a scrapbooking class

- Someone to organise a Scavenger hunt. This can easily be included in the Navigator if people want or sent out before the cruise for people to return the items/answers to a specific room and leave them with identification (in a bag if they are items) in someones fish extender so just really a point of contact). Also after they have all been handed in - a date will need to be set for this - someone can let the winner know by leaving a message/card at their room.

- Any more people who would like to judge &/ donate a prize for the fish extender competition. Those people who already volunteered will need to arrange a day to do the judging on or by so they can work out a winner between them.

- Someone to organise the beer and or martini tastings and arrange these with DCL. Also collate numbers.

- Someone to collate numbers and decide on the days for ladies lunch at Parrot Cay and Mens lunch at Parrot Cay. May be an idea to contact DCL and just let them know the numbers nearer the date in preparation for arranging tables etc.

- Someone to volunteer and arrange the Ice Cream eating Competition

- Someone to volunteer to have a bag outside their room for a book exchange. We did this last time as my sisters a big reader but as she doesn't have a cabin number yet and isn't sure shes taking any books (going electronic I think this time) she thought someone else might want to do this.

Exactly! When I reach 40 Im sure 50 will be the new 40 anyway lol

Lorraine and I are in one of the accessible Cat 3's at the aft of the ship and would be up for taking part in the room tour - we did the same on the last WBTA and it great fun.

Thanks everyone for their kind words. This just sucks after my daughter experiencing her fourth miscarriage, me losing my job and then this. Just kick me in the stomach one or two more times. :sad1::sad2:

So sorry you experienced all of this. That is alot of losses in a short time.:grouphug:

he was a cool dude. :goodvibes

What a handsome guy!!

We will do tea, but Dennis enjoys it too so I won't be doing a ladies only. Gotta be with my guy. :lovestruc

I officially turned 60 last week and I have to say...it's all just numbers. What matters is how you feel. :thumbsup2

Today i had made the decision to take Miles to the vet tomorrow to put him down. Well he had a different idea. He came and sat with me one last time then went into the kitchen and cried one last time and passed on. I just cannot even stop crying. This is the first time I have witnessed a pets death and am devistated.

We still have his sister Ella and another cat Josie. But now all of the boys are gone.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Our pets are such a huge part of our family. Miles will be waiting for you at Rainbow Bridge.

LOL well at least it shows I wasn't too bad organising it last time as you volunteered again! Thanks both!

We are at the far opposite end of this ship in a cat 4 (8002). I'll offer it up for the tour...

OMG ...... how many pages of posts in 48 hours :scared1: .... I go and do one night shift and then have to read the equivalent of a short novel :rotfl:

[/LIST]
OK so as we haven't seen CruzDirectorKaren over here for awhile I thought I would volunteer again to do a mini navigator for the cruise if people would like it? It would be sent out before the cruise so people could print a copy themselves and bring it onboard (mainly because of limits with luggage it worked out the best way to do it on the WBTA last time). If people dont have printing facilities I can bring a few spares too.

If people are happy with this Ill get to work? If people have any special dates (birthdays or anniversaries etc) that they would like noted in the navigator let me know and I can add these in.

Thanks such a lot for doing this Sarah

My 40 - something birthday is on the 18th September ..... I have never really been one to celebrate my big milestone birthdays so I thought I would make up for it this year ... even though it is not a significant milestone one ....

Also Tony and I are celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary on 12th October .... will be home by then but we will officially celebrate it on our one evening in Orlando on 1st October !! I suppose we are also celebrating our second honeymoon

Had a great afternoon and evening at D'land yesterday. Had dinner at our favorite club and then collapsed in a studio villa at the Grand Californian for the night. It's so much easier than driving home!!!! :thumbsup2
Sounds great ... did you meet up with all the WBTA pirates at Disneyland ... or was that another time?

Please add Geezer and...Geezers in Training.... (I won't use the acronym for that out of respect for our British friends! )

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I am still asking if anybody wants to come for drinky poos friday 6pmish:confused3 in barcelona , open to suggestions re a time though.

I was going to get the wine and beers in at the apartment for everybody(2 each:lmao:) but cant mind what the deal was. Our apartment has a balcony with a lovely view over the harbour...

Sounds wonderful ..... we would love to come for drinkies with you ... and are happy to bring along some nibbles and liquid refreshment. :woohoo:

I thought we could do our cabins like theme , like from we are from, or some kind of theme, disney , like with flags and stuff, and whisky:thumbsup2

Well we will definitely have a Welsh dragon in our cabin .... ME :scared1:

I think you originally said Thursday night, but could have got that wrong. Perhaps you changed it to Friday when a few said they didn't arrive till Friday?

Whichever date would be great by us ..... arriving earlier on the Thursday now :woohoo:

What a shame! If anyone else is booking parking at Manchester let me know.

We are unfortunately flying out from Liverpool and back into Manchester so we are going to have to beg a lift from family or friends on this occasion.

Today i had made the decision to take Miles to the vet tomorrow to put him down. Well he had a different idea. He came and sat with me one last time then went into the kitchen and cried one last time and passed on. I just cannot even stop crying. I am so sorry to hear the sad news about your poor cat Miles. He looks adorable and very noble. He had a long and wonderful life and a peaceful end with the one he loved. I don't think you can ask for more than that. Sending :hug:

We love Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck's Express

I am hoping to get lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express on our one day in Orlando ... the Creme Brulee comes highly recommended.

Being 40 is a bit scary, only way I could cope!

Well I officially turned 30 last friday and I don't know anyone else who didn't have a break down when they did. For me I didn't really care. I think 40 is when it will hit me!

You wait until your next biggie is 50 :scared1::scared1: Now that is a worry .... I will definitely need to book a holiday to take my mind of that one !

I have to say the speedo parade by the hubby's made for a humorous event . . .LOL.

Really :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: Did they really do that !!!

. Isn't 40 the new 30 anyway ?

Definitely !!!! :goodvibes

Volunteering:

I am happy to donate a prize for the Scavenger Hunt or Fish Extender competition.

Would be happy to include our room on the tour but don't know yet what CAT we will be as we are GTY 11 at the moment.

Might be able to do the Scavenger Hunt but would have to get some ideas from somewhere as wouldn't know where to start with what you are supposed to do.

We are also happy to do the book bag thingy outside our cabin.

I know Tony would enjoy the beer tasting or wine tasting so could sort out the numbers for this if more people wanted to do it.

Other things

We also need to sort out an official DIS meet time and location for embarkation day.

The idea of having a cabin on each deck with a dry wipe board for any plan changes or updates or messages is a good idea ( taken from Kimberley's (Buckeye Gal) previous cruise meet thread.

I am happy to help out on the scavenger hunt - I have a great DCL Prize that I could donate as well! But, that said I have no earthly idea how to set up a scavenger hunt on a ship... :) So, if anyone wants a partner to do this one, let me know...

Oh that would be a great idea ..... I am happy to do it along with you if thats ok. To be honest I don't really know what a scavenger hunt at sea would entail either ... the ones I have done here just involve searching for certain things and answering questions which involve the participants going around, collect things and finding out the answers.

The latest discussion seems to hinge on birthdays. Here is a quote from George Carlin:

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited
about aging that you think in fractions. "How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!"

You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on
five! That's the key. You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead. "How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16!" You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16!

And then the greatest day of your life . . . you become 21. Even the
words sound like a ceremony . . . YOU BECOME 21. . . YEAS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk. He TURNED, we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40.

Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 . . . and your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a
day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday! You get into your 80s and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime.

And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; "I was JUST 92." Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. "I'm 100 and a half!"

May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

:goodvibes

I would love to partner with you on this!! It would be cool to do a photo one - get a picture with x, y and z... type of thing. Just not sure if everyone has a camera. I will PM you with the prize I have... :)

When my DW and I turned 40 we took our first Disney Cruise to celebrate.
This year we'll be 42, but the big difference is we'll be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary on Castaway Key!:cool1:

I'm so sorry for your loss. Our pets are such a huge part of our family. Miles will be waiting for you at Rainbow Bridge.
Ah the rainbow bridge, I know I will have many pets there to see. It's a very comforting poem Rainbow Bridge.
Terri remember the wonderful life you provided for Miles

:yay::yay::yay::yay: I think most would have a camera. :goodvibes
I'll have to agree with that.
