he was a cool dude. :goodvibes

He was so handsome. We had a ginger cat too, called Nutty, and he was. You will have lots of happy memories of Miles I know.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. That is what I love about the DIS. I have such a grand family here. I guess with everything else happening, I really took this one hard. Of course it was just over a year ago we had to put down his buddy Cobain and three years before that his other buddy Scooter had the same symptoms Miles had so this time I was just beside myself. Our family all loves animals so we have all gone into mourning mode. My youngest son even posted a lot of pictures of all of our cats on his facebook page. He really had some cute pics. The girls are hanging onto my hubby and I cause they know something is just not right.

Thanks, I think we'll book there for 12 night after cruise. I like how close it is to DTD, we love some of the easy eating options there, especially with kids, we need a quick meal sometimes. Our little one has fallen asleep in her food before!:rotfl:

We love Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck's Express - we find it makes a nice change from the standard Disney counter service offerings - we are vegetarian and there are only so many vege burgers I can eat in a two week holiday :rotfl2:

I have a question about strategizing to get a discount. I know when I am on the TA cruise that I should inquire about prices/offers for a future cruise. When I meet to talk about a future cruise, should I mention that I have an existing reservation or just ignore that. Then, if i get a better deal, i could just cancel the existing reservation without any penalty.

Any suggestions? What has worked for all of you in the past?

We've booked onboard typically and then moved the ressie to when we want it then transfer to a TA - I recommend Tracey at Dreams - you'll find their ads all over the Dis ;)

What am I cheering about? The website!!!

For all newcomers please go out to:
.

YAY - thanks for all your work on this!

It's nice when you have a job you like, it's doesn't feel like you are going to work then. :goodvibes

I couldn't agree more with this. I've done a couple of jobs I hated but not in the last 15 years - I've been very fortunate with the last two and I totally love the job I'm in now - 11.5 years and not planning on going anywhere! I consider myself very fortunate.

Hello All,

Just crossed over from that "other" board. Stuck my pin in the map, signed up on the Pirate Roll Call, and said yes to the lanyards - just not sure if that is sufficient to sign up.

Welcome! :)

To all my felllow Praktik Rambla hoteler's:

Were any of you able to pay your ressie in advance?

No, I actually liked their conditions in that we didn't have to pay - I guess you can't please everyone :rotfl2:

I'm sure they'd be happy to take your payment if you asked though.

OK so as we haven't seen CruzDirectorKaren over here for awhile I thought I would volunteer again to do a mini navigator for the cruise if people would like it? It would be sent out before the cruise so people could print a copy themselves and bring it onboard (mainly because of limits with luggage it worked out the best way to do it on the WBTA last time). If people dont have printing facilities I can bring a few spares too.

Also can someone send me the details of the premeet/s that have been organised in Barcelona so I can add these too?

Thank you for organising this. Let me know if you need help on anything as I'm happy to assist where possible.

Add to the list if anyone is interested (& need someone to organise...?)
Ladies lunch at Parrot Cay on a Sea Day (same for the men)
Candy/chocolate bar swap - I'm happy to arrange this one
Ice Cream eating competition
Book swap cabin ?

Today i had made the decision to take Miles to the vet tomorrow to put him down. Well he had a different idea. He came and sat with me one last time then went into the kitchen and cried one last time and passed on. I just cannot even stop crying. This is the first time I have witnessed a pets death and am devistated.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know what a part of the family the furkids can be :grouphug:

Forgot to say - we are now staying at AKL Kidani Village with a savannah view immediately following the cruise - couldn't believe it when we got in!

Then off to Disneyland to the Grand Californian before flying back home to New Zealand - again we really lucked out getting into here!

Just need to get a rental for Florida now and flights from MCO to LAX and we are done...

I think there is a meet at praktica rambla, please some one mind me, I was going to get the wine and beers in at the apartment for everybody(2 each:lmao:) but cant mind what the deal was.
Our apartment has a balcony with a lovely view over the harbour...

Might be a bit out of it for some folks..

Marilyn, I just noticed you are in Harrogate.... got my only parking ticket in 20 years of driving in that darn place,:furious: Im taking the train in November

Whatever is decided, I am up for it. We are probably staying off the beaten track again. I managed to get a really good deal at the Holiday Inn Express at Molins de Rei for the Med cruise. With my staff travel discount, we only pay EUR32.50 per night. The hotel is very close to the train station and it takes about 25 minutes into central Barcelona with trains running every 5 to 10 minutes. Unless the hotel is horrible, we will book it for September as well.

I am definately up for going to breakfast in my jammies!!! :lmao:

I remember a picture with all of the women in their evening gowns wearing gloves and tiaras. I would love to see that happen again. I already have my gloves and tiara!!!

I will definitely have the evening gowns. I could muster a tiara, but I doubt that gloves would come into the equation. I won't even wear gloves in the depth of winter. I hate having something on my hands.

We still have his sister Ella and another cat Josie. But now all of the boys are gone.

Terry, I am so sorry about you loss.

I hope you will have a wonderful time at AKV. We stayed at Jambo House last year and loved it.

Mmmmm, celebrations on the cruise. I must come up with something!:confused3;)

My 62nd birthday next week?? Our 41st wedding anniversary on July 5th? John's birthday in June? 43rd Anniversary of our first meeting(and vacation) in August??:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:....... No???

Perhaps just a celebration of enjoying life!!! That will do.:thumbsup2

LOL well you asked for it! Its going in the book

Oh Terry Im so so sorry! Just think at least he died peacefully with you nearby. All our dogs died in our arms and I am grateful for never needing to put them down as I'm not sure I could have done it. Try to stay strong!

Thanks Paula. I knew I had forgotten loads we said about. I've updated Post 7 with these too.

Haha, I'm just being naughty!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: We never seem able to be away for my birthday or wedding anniversary. Never been away on my birthday. My 60th was on Easter Sunday, and who wants to go away then on a special vacation and spend the extra money for it being that time of year and have all the children on vacation too? Usually my birthday is close to Easter/Spring Break vacations. Our 40th wedding anniversary last year we would have loved to do a cruise, but it was on 5th July, so would link with Independence Day, but we also had to be home for John to cover work, so we didn't get way over the actual day either.. This time we have to get home for the same reason, arriving back 2 days before my birthday. However, we did get a weekend away for our 30th wedding anniversary.:thumbsup2

We have managed to be away on John's birthday about 4 times, including his 60th, so I just keep reminding him how left out I feel!!!!!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

However, I am NOT moaning in general as I have had wonderful and special vacations/cruises at other times of year, and know how blessed I am!!!!

Also if anyone is celebrating something on the cruise but it isn't for a specific day or anything and they would like me to add it to the navigator let me know as well

We will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary the weekend before we sail! :bride: Hard to believe that it has been that long!

I had volunteered to collect names for the afternoon tea at Palo's. I think we will have to just pick a day and time and try to book then. Not sure how else to handle it.

So far I only have two on the list: su_kraft and myself!

If anyone is interested, please PM me! :thumbsup2

Im so sorry, I should be used to it cause of work, but I thought when I started 15 years ago I would get used to it, but I still struggle not to cry for the owner(not the animals, they are obviously loved and looked after till the end) It is horrible, I hope it all went smoothly.

He is a handsome boy, looks like he thinks he is better than everybody else(which he probably was!)

Us neither, we are never away, The PC cruise was something I ALWAYS wanted to do but could never dream of being able to afford it, when I knew it was going to be on my 40th birthday I almost stamped my feet to get on the cruise!! Being 40 is a bit scary, only way I could cope!

Now, I hated being 30, didn't mind being 40 or 50, but I did NOT like being 60 one bit!!! I have now decided to forget birthdays!!!:rotfl2:

So, we will be celebrating your 40th on the PC cruise then???:banana::banana:

Well Im like you on a lot of this! My sister, Dad and Mum all have thier birthdays in 1 month (Sept 8th - Oct 8th) and both Mum & Dad and Sister & her Hubby have their anniversaries in September so we always seem to go away around then and I don't have anything at that time of year. Dans birthday is October and we went away for his in 08 and this is going to cover his too so I get nada.

Looks like you're only a couple of blocks away from my Hotel, the W.

Sounds like some drinks are in order!
