Maybe we need to get the girls together for a chocolate meet up before the cruise? I would LOVE to do a chocolate tour. I did some googling and found some amazing places to visit.

Oh I think DrHug would be sad to be left out of a chocolate event! :sad1:
Where is our letter? Everyone is getting them but us. Has anyone who booked thru DVC recieved the letter. We booked in 08 so we should have recieved it last fall and this time. I think i'll make a call to DVC.

I would call. If DVC can't answer, call DCL and ask how much OBC they show on your trip.
I'm looking at buying one of the Pacsafe bags also - I just can't decide which one I want! If you think it will help you feel safer, then I say go for it. I'd rather spend the money on the Pacsafe bag than spend the day worrying that my cheaper bag will be slashed off my shoulder.

I think we will buy a camera strap. It is only $20, a LOT less than replacing DrHug's camera!
So this letter was sent out with the original letters and is part of the original error that occurred. :sad1:

I was hoping it was an indicator of a rethink on DCLs part about the OBC debacle. :scratchin

:cutie:

I think it is a rethink and everyone who booked early will get it. There was so much ado about the original mistake in some people getting it and others not getting it. It is probably a reprint of the original letters so the old date, but if the postmark is checked....probably not taking 2 months to get to the destination.

How about something new to pass the time?

How about our own Disney trivia challenge? Every Friday I'll post a Disney related question. We'll see who comes up with the correct answer. I'll post the answer on the following Friday with the next question. Reply via PM.

Which of the Seven Dwarfs leads the charge up the mountain after the disguised Queen?

Jon

:woohoo:And the winner is Sarah (TotallyAngelic). It was Grumpy.

This weeks question:

In what Disney animated feature is Earth referred to as "Section 17, Area 51"?

Jon

Hi
Am a little behind to say the least on the OBC discussion...but I admit I am confused. We booked on board...and were told we get $100 PP...which we have had confirm of. So thats safe. Confirmed by post. And we have transferred resi to Dreams Unlimited...keep the $100pp ..and add another $50.....??? Are bookings different?

ahh, good thinking batman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3:never thought of that!

Things have been busy around here lately and haven't been able to get onto the board this week. Trying to catch up on the thread but this group doesn't make that easy.:goodvibes

Our story:

I am 36 and my DW Candida is 35. We ahve been together for 19 years, married for 11 of those 19. We have 3 kids, Oreo (11, DD), Rylea (6, DD) and DS (fish fish, 2). By the way they are of the non-human type :rotfl:.

I spend my time as a police officer for the local police service in the marine and dive unit. So, I get to spend part of the year driving a boat and diving year round. When not working in that capacity I teach scuba diving. Then on top of that when I am not working as a diver or teaching diving I am diving for fun. Candida spends her time taking care of the "kids", scrapbooking, photography, or going to school for photography courses.

We'll travelling with two great friends:hug:, Lyn (Lyn9856) and Bob. We met through DIS and a 7 day in May 2008. Became friends and the rest is history.

Sure we'll be making more friends on this cruise :grouphug:

Jon

Jon, Gosh I forgot what you done for a living, how very exciting!! Dad will just LOVE to talk to you!! how is Candida doing, you have both had a tough time of late!!!

Candida is still in pain. Apparently the stone was 8mm in size and caused some internal damage which is taking it's time to heal. Thanks for asking. Rylea didn't get fazed with her over medication incident either. She is getting into just as much trouble. :goodvibes

:cool1::cool1: OMG! OMG! OMG! :cool1::cool1:

I have been reading over the last few weeks/months about how some 2010 WBTA guests from the US and UK have received letters from DCL stating that each member of their stateroom party has been given USD$100 shipboard credit.
:banana::banana::banana:

Well, I received the letter in the mail today Whohoo!:yay::yay::yay:

I am soooooo rapt. I never expected it to come all the way Down Under.

(It's my birthday on Sunday, what a great surprise gift!) :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

YIPPEE EYAH!!!

YAH!!!! Good for you, I wonder if I will receive the letter to confirm. I have an e-mail, but getting mail from Disney is always exciting!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

He will be glad you have found a way to get included and will happily join you I am sure! :thumbsup2

I will ask John when he returns. He took a Pacsafe coversave travel waist wallet. He really liked it when I purchased it for him.

I wouldn't bother. Your worrying far too much. Just be careful, dont carry too much with you and don't flash money around! Youll be fine I'm sure!

I'm looking at buying one of the Pacsafe bags also - I just can't decide which one I want! If you think it will help you feel safer, then I say go for it. I'd rather spend the money on the Pacsafe bag than spend the day worrying that my cheaper bag will be slashed off my shoulder.

I personally have both a PacSafe backpack and the camera strap. I would not travel anywhere without either. I have invested too much money in my camera equipment to take a chance. On our last Med cruise someone attempted to cut the strap on my daughter's pac safe bag in Pisa and absolutely failed. The great thing was a police officer saw it and arrested the person.

Thanks for all the input. :grouphug:

I think I'll go ahead & get the pacsafe backpack/sling. I'm gonna be carrying a dslr, extra lens & camcorder, among other things & I'm not gonna want to leave them in the hotel. I try to read the horror stories (like the entire thread on pick pocketing) with a grain of salt, but at the same time- better safe than sorry. Plus if I buy it now I'll never have to worry about getting one for future trips.

Thanks again. :goodvibes

Good evening everyone! I'm sitting here with a hot chocolate and pouring over our yearly budget to the government. :teacher:

OK, not right now: right now I am lolligagging. :surfweb:

We had a nice family night with pizza and a movie. I had to make up for a big mistake with DH tonight for a mistake last year that snowballed into a pretty big, but fixable mess today. :rolleyes1

I wish I could just soak in a tub right now: the tub is still in our living room. DH is in the bathroom right now pulling nails and screws from the subfloor so that we can lay down more lumber. Maybe this time next week we will have a tub installed! I wish I was in the lovely tub we had in our cat 3 on the Wonder a few weeks ago. I could go for that!

Hey Sarah- wish Taryn a happy birthday for me! Our Taryn had her birthday a month ago when she turned 10. In Ontario turning 19 means you can drink legally, so a significant birthday for most local kids!

"you make europe sound like a terrible placeIm sure Dr hugs camera would be just fine, mines has been for last (39-12) what is that,ha ha a lot!"

Lynne,
certainly didn't mean to make Europe (Barcelona really) sound like a terrible place. We have never been there! :confused3 We can only take precautions based on what others who have been there have told us. I would hate to have the strap cut and lose not only his camera (that we would have trouble replacing financially), but also the chip with our irreplaceable photos because we did not take a very inexpensive precaution. Just seems like a wise use of $20 to me. There are places in the US where one would want to take similar precautions. :sad2: Now my camera, except for the chip, would be not a big deal if lost. However, it also does not have a neck strap!

Ever had one of those days? You know, the kind where nothing goes right, and everyone but you gets the good news? Well, that has been my week... I think it started with the official announcement of my new job (which really is my old job, but I digress…) Then I kept reading how so many of you were getting a great additional OBC and had great plans for what to do where... And, then my new boss (who is a real JERK – ask Glenn he will agree) went on and on this morning about how awful a transatlantic cruise with KIDS would be... I love my kids (well, most of the time) and I was so looking forward to this - and this week has put quite a damper on it. So, I had totally lost the “count down to Barcelona” excited feeling.

Anyway, last night in a last ditch effort, I wrote to our TA with Dreams Unlimited and said I was on DIS, and you all were getting a fabulous OBC and could she please check and let me know... So imagine my SHOCK when I opened my email a moment ago...
"Hi Sue,
I checked with Disney Cruise Line and you are living right! Your reservation was one of the lucky few that have that $100 per person Mediterranean “Thank You” shipboard credit applied."
So, I am doing a happy dance. :dance3: Not to mention I now I need to get out of my funk, stop worrying about Becca not having fun, start thinking excursions and figure out how to pack for the 4 of us in 2 less bags than I had originally thought of bringing... Wait - we are getting a really big bus, right? Maybe I can bring one of those bags… :rotfl:

OK, back to Friday night, Mens Super G, Ice Dancing and some of the recorded Curling... (I love the Olympics!) :happytv:

Ya know - I would hate the expense of replacing the camera - but if we lost the pictures I would be devestated! This is a trip of a life time for us with the kids. I would hate for someone else to get those momentos! The camera strap sounds like a good investment. I certainly hope that it is totally unnecessary. I would like to think that nothing bad will happen to any of us, but better safe than sorry!

Does anybody who did the TA before remember how much the Rainforest was for the length of the cruise? We did a one day pass there and I loved it! The heated seats are the best!

Hey girl,

I asked DH and he remember $!50 for the whole trip on last years EB REPO. I'm with you. I really used it a lot last trip and plan to do it again this time. It's worth every penny!!!
